Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Waver Is My Teacher

Waver suddenly stopped looking around and quickly calmed down.

"Whew… looks like they're gone," Waver let out a breath and then answered Alexander the Great's question. "Yeah, I get it. What this kid said doesn't really sound like future sight — it sounds more like clairvoyance, picking up on major events. Plus, when he got here, Goldie had just left. Even if future sight lets you see the future, you'd still need to be there in that future. And it's clear he wasn't just now."

"Right. Makes sense. Hey, kid, what did my Master use to summon me?" Alexander the Great asked him again.

"A piece of your cloak!" Tia said naturally.

"You actually knew that?!" Waver was shocked again, but then quickly relaxed. "Well, I guess you really do have future sight… no, clairvoyance!" But as he spoke, he got worked up again. "And not just any clairvoyance — one that can see the future! That's basically EX-level clairvoyance! Way above the normal kind! And you just burned it out from using it recklessly?!"

"Hahaha! Alright! In that case, I believe you," Alexander the Great laughed. "But... the Holy Grail War isn't something a little kid like you can be part of. You don't have Command Seals, and you're just a regular person. You should go home. We'll talk again after the Holy Grail War is over." As he spoke, he reached out and patted Tia on the head.

"Yeah, he's right. You'd better go home for now," Waver added. "After the Holy Grail War's over, I'll come find you. If you still want to learn magic, you can come back to the Clock Tower with me."

"No way! I'm not going back!" Tia refused immediately. "Tonight's battle isn't over yet! On their way back, King Arthur and Irisviel are going to run into Caster — Gilles de Rais, the Marshal of France. But that Gilles is insane, just like his Master, Uryuu Ryuunosuke. They go around killing innocent people. Their cruel actions will expose the location of Caster's base. By tomorrow morning, the Holy Church will put out a mission to eliminate Gilles de Rais! Also, tonight, Emiya Kiritsugu is going to attack the hotel where Kayneth is staying — the Hyatt, the tallest building in Fuyuki City! He's going to blow up the entire hotel."

"What?! That Emiya Kiritsugu! Saber's Master is crazy too?!" Waver yelled again after hearing Tia's words. "Damn it!" He clenched his fists, but didn't say anything like "I'll go stop him."

"It's okay. Emiya Kiritsugu will set a fire alarm ahead of time so everyone evacuates first," Tia continued.

"That so? Alright, I guess that's fine. But... do you know where Gilles de Rais' workshop is? If those two really are lunatics, it'd be best to wipe them out quickly," Waver asked.

"Of course I know! It's in a huge drainage tunnel near the banks of the Mion River, the one closest to Yatsu Library — that's where Gilles de Rais set up his workshop!" Tia said, smiling proudly.

"Yatsu Library?" Waver scratched his head, then pulled a map from his pocket and lit it up using a light spell.

Tia leaned in, standing on tiptoes and tugging at Waver's arm to lower it a bit.

Waver looked at him speechlessly, then sighed and lowered his arm.

"Here! Right around this area!" Tia excitedly pointed to a spot along the river on the map.

"Haha! Alright! Let's go right now!" Alexander the Great laughed and immediately got ready to move.

"Wait! Are you stupid or what?! You can't just walk straight through the front door! We're talking about a Caster here! Their specialty is territory defense!" Waver quickly stopped him.

"But didn't the kid just say Saber and the others will run into Gilles de Rais on their way back? That's the perfect chance! If we take advantage of it, we can destroy their base!" Alexander the Great argued.

"Huh? I thought we were going to ambush them?" Waver asked in confusion.

"Kid, every Servant summoned into this world is a tough opponent. If we don't even know what tricks they've got, it's better not to rush into a fight," Alexander the Great said as he patted Waver on the back. "But hey, kid — do you know what kind of tricks Gilles de Rais has up his sleeve?"

"His Noble Phantasm is the Prelati's Spellbook. It can summon sea monsters, and it doesn't need the Master's own mana to work—it can cast powerful spells on its own. If you run into him, it's best to kill him as fast as you can. Otherwise, you'll get stuck fighting an endless swarm of monsters. He's also really good at running away, so if you can trap him, that's your best bet," Tia replied to Alexander the Great.

"Hm…" Alexander the Great nodded. "I see. Alright, let's go. I'll take you home first!"

"Huh? No way! Didn't I say I want to come with you?" Tia immediately protested.

"Sigh~~" Waver shook his head helplessly, then pulled out his pocket watch again and recited a sleep spell.

The next moment, Tia lost consciousness.

When he woke up again, it was already the next morning.

As soon as Tia opened his eyes, he sat up straight in bed. Without even putting on his slippers, he ran to the window and looked all around outside. After a while, he let out a deep sigh.

"Looks like they really didn't plan on taking me along," Tia muttered sadly, feeling pretty down.

Just then, the door to his room opened.

"Tia, you're awake! Come on out, Mr. Velvet who brought you back last night is in the living room," his mom called out to him.

"Huh?" Tia was stunned for a second, then his face lit up with joy. "Okay!"

He immediately ran out of the room with loud footsteps.

"Hey, put some clothes on first!" Tia's mom quickly grabbed him.

Tia looked down and realized he was only wearing underwear. He instantly got embarrassed, ducked back under the blanket, got dressed, put on his slippers, and walked into the living room.

"Teacher Waver!" Tia saw Waver and instantly sat next to him, politely calling him "teacher" in front of his parents.

"Teacher?" his dad, sitting to the side, asked with curiosity.

Only then did Tia notice his dad was there too. He gave a sheepish smile.

"Dad, you're here too."

"What do you mean 'you're here too'! You little brat!" Tia's dad gave him a playful smack.

"Mr. Velvet is Tia's teacher? Why didn't you say anything before?" Tia's mom came over too, asking curiously.
