Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: My Origin is the Sword!

"Compassion? Return? No wonder you gave up being Magus just to let Tia live as a normal person. Even without magic circuits, your Origin still affects you at every moment," Waver said with some surprise.

At that moment, Tia also suddenly felt something inside her stirring. It felt bad, almost painful, and she frowned deeply.

"It's starting?" Tia's father spoke up. "Tia is awakening her Origin!"

Tia's mother looked at her nervously, and Waver went silent, staring at her.

Tia suddenly felt sharp pain inside her body. Without knowing why, she swung her arm, and the magic crest on it lit up. A very plain-looking sword appeared in midair, then fell to the ground with a clattering sound.

"A sword?" Waver froze. "That's the Origin?"

"Tia's Origin is the sword?" Her father didn't seem surprised.

"A sword? Tia really is amazing," her mother said casually, as if it was only natural.

But at that moment, Tia herself was completely lost in confusion.

My Origin is the sword? Seriously?! Does that mean I'm Emiya Shirou? But wait, weren't Shirou's parents' Origins compassion and return? What the hell is going on? What kind of Fourth War did I end up in? This is ridiculous!

Just then, Waver suddenly looked outside.

"Sorry, I have to leave right now," he said, glancing out the window before turning back to Tia's parents.

But Tia's parents also looked outside, the same as Waver.

At that moment, Tia felt something too, and in her mind she heard a voice:

"All Masters, come to the Holy Church. As the overseer of the Holy Grail War, I have an important announcement to make!"

Tia froze for a second, then instantly remembered the Fourth Holy Grail War's story. Sure enough, today was the day they would announce the defeat of Gilles de Rais and Uryuu Ryuunosuke, and the granting of a Command Seal.

Thinking of this, Tia couldn't help looking outside too.

Waver noticed the whole family turning their gaze in the same direction and blinked in surprise. "You heard it too?"

All three nodded.

Waver slapped his forehead. "Ugh~~~"

"Mr. Velvet, don't worry. We know about the Holy Grail War. After all, any Magus living in Fuyuki City knows," Tia's father reminded him with a smile. "Since you're a participant, you should go. We'll just—"

"I'm going too!" Tia cut in before her father could finish. She was determined to go along. She felt that a lot of things might change from here, and she had to see it herself.

Her parents exchanged a smile. They no longer tried to stop her like they would have before.

"Alright, then go," her father said.

"But be careful," her mother added.

"I know!" Tia nodded seriously.

Not long after Tia left home with Waver, Alexander the Great suddenly appeared.

"Kid, are you thinking the overseer's announcement is about killing Gilles de Rais and his Master?"

Seeing Alexander the Great suddenly appear, Tia was startled, then naturally nodded.

"That guy was badly hurt last night when I attacked him. He's on the run now. Did your clairvoyance see where he went?" Alexander's voice was unusually serious. "I realized his Noble Phantasm is way tougher than I thought. Next time, I'll trap him with mine first!"

Tia scratched his head, looking awkward.

Originally, Gilles was supposed to attack the Einzbern castle tonight, but who knew if that would still happen now? So Tia said nothing.

"Looks like you don't know," Alexander sighed, shaking his head. "I didn't expect him to be that slippery, summoning so many sea monsters to surround me. That was my mistake."

Hearing this, Tia hesitated but spoke anyway: "Actually... originally, Gilles wasn't supposed to be attacked this morning. He was going to attack the Einzbern castle tonight. But... now I'm not sure what'll happen."

"Oh? You mean because you revealed the future, what you saw has already changed?" Alexander asked.

"Huh? Doesn't that mean from now on, every future you see might be different too?" Waver suddenly realized.

Tia scratched his head again.

"Ugh~~ I thought we could really rely on the future to win..." Waver sighed.

"Hahaha! Boy! Stop worrying about that! Even without knowing the future, I'm more than enough to win this Holy Grail War!" Alexander the Great roared with confidence.

But Tia knew that was impossible, so she turned her head slightly to look elsewhere, her expression a bit unnatural.

"Hahaha~ kid, did you already see me failing in the end?" Alexander the Great saw Tia's face and laughed loudly.

Tia nodded.

"But didn't you also say the future has already changed? So don't worry! I still have a chance, right!" Alexander the Great was as confident as ever, though he had no idea just how strong Gilgamesh really was.

Tia didn't say much, just gave a small smile.

"Let's go, we'll guard that Einzbern castle," Alexander the Great said, still believing in the future Tia spoke of.

"Then I'll send out a familiar first," Waver said.

A while later, Waver came back.

"Let's go. Just like Tia said, nothing's changed, the reward is still the same."

"Heh! Looks like luck is on our side~~" Alexander the Great said. But since it was broad daylight and they couldn't attract attention, they could only walk back.

Waver was living in the house of an old couple, using hypnosis to make them believe he was their grandson. When he came back home, a delivery man just happened to arrive.

Seeing the package, Tia's face showed a strange look.

Because in the original story, Tia had also seen a delivery man, and what he brought was clothes—a shirt with a world map printed on the chest.
