Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The missing sword found it's owner

Neraid's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night having thoughts about him again. It's been a century already I still couldn't get my thoughts together without considering what he'd have said. Huh! what a pathetic life.

Some people can't be ignored in your life even when they're no longer with you. His influence on me had made him a part of me. I vowed to spend the rest of my life with him but he just walked away without telling me anything.

I needed to take my mind off him so I called a servant to bring me a slave. I can't remember where I got him from but he looked decent and pretty too.

We went rounds after rounds and only managed a few minutes break. He was tight and good to Fuck so I just buried myself inside him hoping to distract my mind.

This was our nth time when I received news that Serena was here to see me.

We were kids when my mom took us to Hail Alley. I never asked Serena where her parents were and my mom never said anything. She calls my mom aunty so I called her cousin. We came to the main land to work and Serena ended up becoming the fiancee of the Sovereign. I was also promoted and rose up the ranks. The other servants refused to acknowledge me but did their opinion matter? From a servant to a Lord, that's not an easy feat so I had to make sure my strength won't lack.

I needed to protect myself and my cousin even though I knew the Sovereign won't let her get hurt. But unfortunately, he died before I could become stronger.

I was pressured to give up my position but I didn't crumble under the pressure. I was ridiculed but I didn't succumb all because of a young Lunarian with a sunny smile.

And now, I am going to be the guardian of the young boy that Serena brought back.

I called the chief servant and gave him some instructions. I wasn't coming back to the main land anytime soon so I needed to leave my abode in the hands of a capable person.

I got some servants to tie some gold coins in a cloth and that's the only thing I was taking with me. I didn't forget my sword as well.

Early the next sunrise, I made my way towards the Sovereign's castle. I wanted to leave from there. In that way, it'll seem like I was just going out to take a look. When I entered into the dining area, I saw the boy and Serena eating and chatting.

"Oh! And you just want to send him away like that? Can you bear it?" I asked and walked towards the seat closest to me.

"You are here. You came at the right time. We'll have breakfast together then." I sat down and ate with them. Taking note of how Serena was all around him doing the little things like wiping his mouth, picking food for him and feeding him water. I also took note of how he enjoyed her every service with a red face yet not telling her to stop, afraid of getting her angry.

Was this the Sovereign I knew? Oh my world view has been revised again.

We were soon done with breakfast and the servants came to clear the table.

"Argent. Yes?" I asked. He nodded and looked at my face. I was pleasantly surprised because just a night ago, he couldn't even look at me except a sneaky quick glance and now he's just looking at me like a young confident boy.

"Good. Very good. You're quickly improving." I complimented.

"Thank you sir." "Just call me uncle." This was me trying to act tough even though I was pressing down a huge impulse to laugh.

"Oh please Neraid, no drama. Call him Neraid." Serena chimed. "Uncle is fine by me." He quickly shook his head. "Fair enough." I nodded and waved him off.

"When do we set off?" I asked. "Just a moment." Serena got up and went to her room. She came down with a sword. The scabbard was made with a purple metal, inlaid with precious gems and a mermaid tear-beads stringed into a pearl rope that can be worn over the shoulder. The blaid emitted a gentle golden light that seemed to calm one's heart. The edges were smooth and shiny an indication of how sharp it was.

I knew this sword. This was Argent's sword. The one gifted to him by the Morre. It was lost when he died. Many had searched for it but no one found it. I was inclined to think it was with Serena.

I look at the sword now in Argent's hand. "I thought as much." I whispered and watched Serana pulled him in for a hug before ruffling his hair.

"Take care Argent."

We were finally ready to set off. This is how the journey of Selene's favorite began.
