Chapter 96 - 96

Renoli, Kyle, Prophet, and Lacey were walking along the main road.

"The location Kassadin mentioned, it's definitely this small island, right?"

"We've walked seven or eight li, why haven't we seen a single Shadow?"

Renoli observed his surroundings, not finding any more Shadows, and spoke.

Knowing that even if he didn't succeed in joining, as long as he didn't make any rash moves, he would most likely be able to retreat safely, so he wasn't too nervous.

"The location is correct."

Kyle nodded at his communicator upon hearing this, repeatedly confirming the location.

"I've already asked, they saw Kassadin and a woman named Sonia go out to sea together this morning."

"There's no doubt that the island belonging to the woman named Sonia is the same location as the one Kassadin released in his message."

"And the true owner of Sonia's island should be Kassadin."

The Prophet's words were like a tranquilizer.

It completely put the others at ease, and they continued walking forward.

Lacey's physical quality was only that of an ordinary person. She didn't know how much longer they had to walk, but she still wanted to go and see.

Kassadin had said they would meet again, but she hadn't seen Kassadin with her own eyes since then.

Kassadin became a legend in the Bounty Hunter world in just a few months.

It made her want to find Kassadin too, hoping to find some protection.

However, although it was rumored that Kassadin was on Xandar, no one knew where Kassadin actually was, so there was no way to find him.

Now, Kassadin had finally released some information himself, and even said he was willing to give everyone a chance.

Facing this opportunity, Lacey felt she had to try no matter what.

"I'll go ahead and check the road first."

"Other areas might not be safe to wander into, but it should be fine to follow the road."

Renoli walked with them for a while and then spoke.

"I'll leave it to you, be careful."

"We are just visiting guests, we must maintain the demeanor of guests."

"But even if there's no result, we are ninety percent likely to leave safely."

Kyle heard Renoli volunteer to scout ahead. Having cooperated many times, he knew Renoli's capabilities, but he still gave a word of caution.

Renoli nodded slightly upon hearing this, then his figure flickered, turning into a black Shadow that swiftly moved along the road.

In just about ten minutes, Renoli returned, bringing back definite news.

"A hundred li away, I saw a temple and a statue of Kassadin."

"It can be 100% confirmed that the island mentioned in the message is here."

Before confirming whether the owner of this small island was Kassadin, Renoli dared not run freely on this island.

Now that it was confirmed, he dared even less, otherwise, the impact of breaking the sound barrier would destroy the surroundings.

That would inevitably provoke Kassadin, and then he would truly have come with a life but not leave with one.

If he wasn't afraid to run freely, a round trip of merely a hundred li would not take him so much time at all.

"Hahaha~ Didn't I say so? Kassadin wants to build a force."

"It's very likely the beginning of the Void God Cult's establishment. If we join, we might get more benefits."

Kyle immediately caught the information in Renoli's words and burst out laughing.

"Besides the temple and that statue, there are no other Shadows?"

The Prophet saw Kyle's optimistic expression and didn't get happy so quickly, but instead asked carefully.

"I went up alone, so I don't know."

Renoli said loudly when he heard this question.

"Normal people feel ashamed when they are afraid, why aren't you, and instead feel so proud?"

Kyle looked at Renoli's expression and attitude and said speechlessly.

"I'm a coward, you're a tough guy. When we get there, you go up first."

Renoli heard Kyle's words, spread his hands, and admitted he was a coward.

"Why should I go up first when we get there?"

"Shouldn't we go up together?"

Kyle immediately became unhappy when he heard he would go up first.

"Aren't you a tough guy? Then of course you should lead the way."

"What, could it be that you're also feeling scared?"

Renoli looked at Kyle with a strange gaze upon hearing this.

Just as the several people were arguing, a voice sounded from the side.

"I'll go up first then."

Lacey said with a serious expression.

Unlike these three super-powered individuals, when she heard this news, what she prioritized was the distance.

This distance, without transportation, would take a long time if only walked on foot.

However, knowing that this was indeed Kassadin's temple, she had nothing to fear.

Although her initial contact was only twice, Kassadin had left a very good impression on her; he was easygoing, generous, and not overly arrogant.

So, even if this meeting didn't succeed, she would definitely be able to leave the island safely.

This was also why she dared to approach them and ask to come along, despite countless people being unable to confirm the truth of the message or if it might be a trap, when she heard Renoli and the others talking.

"Good! I'll leave it to you."

"A hundred li is not easy to walk directly, I'll give you a ride."

Renoli heard Lacey's words and didn't refuse; instead, he expressed his goodwill, offering to give Lacey a ride.

"Mhm, thank you for the trouble."

Lacey said gratefully upon hearing this.

"Then I'll give the Prophet a ride."

Kyle looked at the Prophet, who had been walking silently at the back, without speaking.

"Alright, then we'll meet in front of the temple."

Renoli directly picked up Lacey and ran quickly, disappearing from sight instantly.

"Hold on tight."

Kyle also reached out and grabbed the Prophet, putting him behind his back and saying a word.

His feet gathered power and burst out, instantly turning into an afterimage, moving along the road.

Ten minutes later.

The four arrived a hundred meters in front of a temple.

"Gotta say, this temple looks a bit like a main base."

"This location plus the size of this island, it probably couldn't be acquired without four or five hundred million, right?"

"Even within Xandar City, a luxurious mansion estate is only a few million. This isn't Xandar City, and you're telling me this undeveloped island costs four or five hundred million?"

"You're probably joking with me."

"Although this island is undeveloped, its total size is three hundred twenty-seven square kilometers, and its location is not too far from Xandar City."

"So four or five hundred million is not impossible."

The several people didn't go up to the temple immediately but instead exchanged their thoughts.

Xandar's technological level was very high, and interstellar travel was commonplace, so there was no shortage of places to live.

Moreover, the purchasing power of the Universe was very high. What was truly valuable were those large Cosmic Warships, which couldn't be acquired without several hundred million, and not only did one need money, but also connections and channels.

As for Cosmic Warships, they were much cheaper, ranging from several million to tens of millions or even hundreds of millions.

Could this undeveloped small island be worth as much as a large Cosmic Warship?

Asking others might yield different answers, but if you asked Renoli, he would definitely say it wasn't worth it.

After all, buying it and developing it would also cost an astronomical sum; it would be better to get a Cosmic Warship to help him complete more difficult tasks more effectively.

In his leisure time, he could also directly travel to various Planets, having as much prestige as he wanted.

However, just as the several people were discussing endlessly, a voice came down from above.

"Welcome, everyone. I am Mr. Kassadin's butler. You may call me Sonia."

"Please come up, I will introduce the Void God Cult to everyone."

The several people looked up upon hearing this and saw a pure, lovely woman with a smile that made her seem harmless.

Renoli, the Prophet, and Kyle exchanged glances, asking each other what they should do now.

However, Lacey, upon hearing the invitation to go up, had already lifted her feet and started walking up the stairs.
