Chapter 5 - Item Draw Card

Han Yu reappeared in a small grocery store on the streets of New York in the Marvel world.

The shop wasn't large, but it was well-equipped inside.

Han Yu had obtained this small shop six months ago. He was originally an ordinary Chinese person from Earth, but he was also a fervent superhero and comic book enthusiast.

The time he'd transmigrated here was after he finished watching Avengers: Endgame. That night, he went to sleep, and when he opened his eyes, he'd arrived in this Marvel world, teeming with gods and immortals.

This grocery store was also bound to Han Yu as his golden finger.

He originally thought he could reach the pinnacle of life as soon as he arrived, and marry a beautiful, wealthy woman. However, he didn't expect the system to constantly issue him tasks, starting him on a grueling 996 schedule.

As soon as he returned, Han Yu immediately said, "System, settle the collection task, keyword 'Almighty Push'!"

The general store system's voice echoed in Han Yu's mind.

"Task settlement complete. The system has detected the inclusion of additional items: S-rank ninjutsu [Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique], S-rank ninjutsu [Creation Rebirth: Strength of a Hundred Technique], and S-rank ninjutsu [Yin Seal]."

"Received an additional reward: Item Draw Card *1!"

Han Yu said with unrestrained joy, "I actually got an Item Draw Card! It wasn't in vain that I brought back three S-rank ninjutsu!"

He slashed his right hand in the air, and a floating light screen visible only to Han Yu appeared. This was his personal information in the system.

[Name: Han Yu]

[General Store Level: Advanced Shop Assistant]

[Basic Ability: Undying Divine Seal]

[Additional Ability: None]

[Item: Item Draw Card ×1]

[Weaponry: Hyōrinmaru (Ice Ring)]

[Available Upgrade Points: 20]

[Upgrade Points Required: 50]

Han Yu's fervent gaze landed on the "Item Draw Card." The value of this thing far surpassed that of the Almighty Push.

It could draw items from all the myriad worlds, and the item would directly be in its highest form, saving Han Yu the trouble of upgrading his weapons.

In the shop system, it wasn't just through extra rewards that you could get them. You could also get them by spending upgrade points.

But the price was enough to be called exorbitant. One item draw card cost a hundred upgrade points. It was practically robbery!

Han Yu's exhausting task had only earned him so many upgrade points, and now they wanted a hundred from him? It was like they were trying to kill him.

He lightly tapped the "Item Draw Card" in his personal information section. Han Yu pinched it with two fingers, and a card, mainly purple with a gold border, slowly appeared in his hand.

I hope I can draw something good this time. I got my ice-type Zanpakuto, Hyōrinmaru, from this. I hope I can get something good.

Han Yu was about to start the draw when he heard a crisp ringing from the wind chimes hanging at the door of the shop. He had to stop the draw and put the item draw card away.

These wind chimes could only be triggered by people from all the worlds who had a certain status. The stronger the person, the faster and louder the wind chimes would ring.

Under normal circumstances, they wouldn't move, no matter how much the wind blew, like they were broken.

The door was then pushed open, and a figure appeared there.

Upon seeing the visitor, Han Yu's face broke into a friendly smile. "Whitebeard, here for more wine again?"

"Haha, Han, you know me well! Maozhuo, three hundred barrels!"

The newcomer was Whitebeard from the world of pirates. He let out several hearty laughs, causing the house to tremble with the sound.

Outside the door that Whitebeard had opened, wasn't a New York street, but an empty expanse of land.

The general store connected to myriad worlds, each with a corresponding location. Whitebeard had accidentally discovered this island and the small shop during a voyage.

And he was amazed to find the shop's wine tasted exceptionally good. He had lived for so long and had never tasted such strong liquor. Compared to this wine, their own was utterly bland.

So, Whitebeard often came here to buy wine, purchasing hundreds of barrels at a time. If it were in normal bottle packaging, the amount in one barrel could probably fill twenty or thirty bottles.

"Leave it at the usual spot, same price as always."

Han Yu chuckled. Even though the world was different, it didn't affect his ability to get paid. The money he received went into the general store system, and it would automatically convert to the equivalent currency of whatever world he was in.

"Alright, I'll have someone fetch it now. The money's outside the door."

Whitebeard nodded, a hint of weariness flashing across his face. He turned to leave, but Han Yu stopped him just as he reached the doorway.

"You don't look so good. What's going on?"

Whitebeard turned back to Han Yu and shook his head, as if unwilling to speak.

Han Yu said, "You're a regular customer. If something's up, you can tell me. Maybe I can help."

"You're just a regular general store owner. There's no way I'd let you come along and risk yourself."

Looking into Han Yu's eyes, Whitebeard sighed softly and said, "I've bought wine here so many times, there's no harm in telling you. It's Ace. He's been captured by the Navy. He'll be sent to the execution ground in a few days. I'm going to rescue him. This time, I might not come back."

Han Yu was stunned. He'd met Ace, the one Whitebeard was talking about. He was a young man who loved to laugh and was very polite, treating people well.

He had come to buy wine a few times on Whitebeard's behalf and got along well with Han Yu. The latter had a good impression of him.

When their large group of pirates came to the general store to eat, Ace would always take the initiative to help Han Yu collect and wash the dishes after the meal, so Han Yu's prices for them had always been very friendly.

Seeing Han Yu's stunned expression, Whitebeard gave a wry smile, not intending to say more.

In his eyes, Han Yu was just the owner of a general store on some isolated island in the sea. Saying more wouldn't change anything.

So, Whitebeard left, his back a picture of desolation.

Han Yu walked out of the general store, stepping onto the soil of the pirate world. He then realized that the money bags piled up on both sides of the general store were a staggering six meters high, far exceeding the usual prices he charged.

"System, put all these coins into the currency system and let me see how much there is," Han Yu said to the general store system, turning his head.

"Conversion started…"

"Conversion complete!"

"Current currency unit: Marvel World, US dollars."

"Converted amount: Three hundred thousand US dollars!"

The muscles on Han Yu's face couldn't help but twitch. There were actually three hundred thousand US dollars!

The usual money he received for the wine, with hundreds of jars, would only be around one hundred thousand, not much more. This sum of money was definitely not small for ordinary people.

Because the One Piece world didn't have advanced brewing technology, Han Yu charged a bit more. Whitebeard didn't mind, and he always paid generously, but he'd never given this much before.

"I should go take a look later," Han Yu murmured. He couldn't just let such a good customer get away.

A wisp of invisible energy gathered in Han Yu's palm, forming a transparent figure no bigger than a palm. It was a miniature person constructed from his mental energy.

"Go."

Han Yu gave a soft command, and the transparent figure shot out, quickly catching up to Whitebeard's departing ship. It stood on the mast, observing everything.

Inside the ship's cabin, Whitebeard suddenly felt a strange sensation, as if he were being watched. He stood up and looked around.

"What's wrong, old man?" one of Whitebeard's crew members asked.

The odd feeling in his heart quickly vanished. Whitebeard shook his head slightly, dismissing the chaotic thoughts in his mind.

"Never mind, let's go save Ace."

Han Yu, watching everything unfold in the tavern, nodded silently. This tiny figure formed from his spiritual energy could serve perfectly as a shadow, monitoring everything. It even possessed a little bit of combat power, making it a decent tracker.

With a spiritual energy shadow keeping an eye on Whitebeard, Han Yu could focus on his own matters for the time being. He took out an item extraction card once more and said,

"System, extract item!"

He slapped the card forward. It transformed into strands of light, converging ahead.

The light gradually coalesced, forming a ring that shimmered with green light.

The ring was crafted entirely from an unknown silver metal. At its apex, a green gemstone was embedded. Above the gemstone, there was a pattern composed of a circle and two horizontal lines.

Han Yu opened his palm, and the ring, as if possessing sentience, automatically slipped onto his finger. Immediately, two streaks of green light enveloped Han Yu's eyes, and a sentence echoed in his mind.

"Ring bearer, please recite the oath!"

An oath? What oath?

Before Han Yu could ask, a passage appeared in his mind. He moved his lips and recited the words written there.

"In brightest day, in blackest night,

No evil shall escape my sight.

Let those who worship evil's might,

Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"

The instant the words finished, dazzling green light gushed forth from the ring, enveloping Han Yu. It lasted for several dozen seconds before slowly receding back into the ring.

At that moment, Han Yu felt a mental connection with the ring. If the ring were to leave him, he would immediately be aware of it.

Until this moment, he could finally examine the ring closely. A voice filled with shock immediately echoed through the entire general store.

"W...T...F! It's actually a Green Lantern Ring?!"
