The next morning, my phone buzzed so violently it nearly jumped off the bedside table.


Just one word in the email, but it was enough to make my heart explode with adrenaline. I had been accepted as a temporary runner—assistant—basically an all-around crew member for AUREA.


It didn't matter that it was temporary. It didn't matter that the pay was terrible.


I didn't waste even a second and rushed toward the studio address listed in the email.


Star Entertainment had rented an entire building as a temporary base while AUREA was in town, and it showed—people were flooding in and out of the doors like bees in a frantic hive.


Excitement and nerves churned in me so strongly I could barely breathe. My boys were somewhere inside this building.


Though realistically… I probably wouldn't see them. At least not today.
