Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Triple-Barreled Cannons Misfire, and Beidou Takes on the Kraken

"Yo, so this is another world. Not bad at all."

The sea breeze rushed to meet her, carrying the thick smell of gunpowder.

But Beidou didn't find it unpleasant in the slightest. Instead, her spirits soared higher and higher.

As the captain of Liyue's strongest armed fleet, her favorite thing to do was, without a doubt, clearing out pirates.

Unfortunately, the Treasure Hoarders within Liyue's borders all avoided her, only daring to come out and play when she had set sail.

The crew of The Alcor were in shock.

One moment they were in Liyue, and the next, they were here.

Before they could even process it, Ganyu spoke. "Everyone, be careful. The enemy is approaching."

"Don't worry, Lady Ganyu! Whoever dares to cross our Crux Fleet will be crushed to pieces!"

"So what if it's a ghost ship? With Captain Beidou here, what do we have to fear!"

"That's right!"

"Cannons, prepare!"

"Cannons, prepare!"

The sailors moved quickly.

Without even waiting for Beidou's command, they had already entered a state of battle readiness.

At the bow of the ship, Beidou gripped her Dragon-Slaying Sword, her eyes fixed on the approaching vessel. "So that's the ghost ship," she muttered.

It was covered in seaweed and moss, and didn't even have proper sails.

Even from a distance, she could see the monsters on its deck.

Their bodies were covered in a viscous slime.

Some even had starfish stuck to them. The sight alone was nauseating.

Soon, the Flying Dutchman came alongside The Alcor. Davy Jones stared at Beidou. "And which Pirate Lord are you? I don't seem to recognize you."

"Beidou, Captain of the Liyue Crux Fleet. I'm no Pirate Lord."

"Liyue? Never heard of it. But since you've appeared here, you can just sink to the bottom of the sea! Fire!" Davy Jones sneered, raising his cutlass.

Triple-barreled cannons revealed themselves on the deck of his ship.

Boom. Boom. Boom.

The cannonballs flew through the air in a high arc, heading straight for them.

However, before they could even reach the ship, sixteen arrows intercepted them in mid-air.

The explosions blossomed in the space between the two vessels.

Beidou faced the heatwave head-on without so much as blinking.

With Ganyu, a being with the blood of an adeptus, by her side, why would she worry about mere cannonballs? She was an existence who had weathered the age of the Archon War.

"Fire! Fire!!!"

"With Lady Ganyu here, we're invincible!"

The sailors aboard The Alcor returned fire.

Although they didn't have triple-barreled cannons, the cannonballs of Liyue were in no way inferior to those of this world.

After just one volley, the ghost ship was rocked by the explosions.

Davy Jones stared at the blue-haired woman, a flash of disbelief in his eyes.

Arrows can block cannonballs? What kind of joke is this?

"Don't think you can defeat me with just that! Feel the wrath of the sea!"

Failing to win the initial exchange didn't faze Davy Jones in the slightest. Instead, it only stoked his desire for slaughter.

As he raised his saber, the calm surface of the sea began to churn violently.

From a distance, Captain Jack Sparrow saw this and immediately shouted, "Watch out! The Kraken is about to appear! Run!"

Hearing this, Beidou just smiled and turned to Ganyu.

"Hey, how about you let me handle this big guy? It's been a long time since I've had a good workout, not since I killed that sea monster, Haishan."

"Are you sure you can handle it?" Ganyu asked, a little hesitant.

After all, the sea monster from the mission briefing was supposed to be enormous.

Beidou laughed heartily. "Who am I? I'm Captain Beidou! I still have to make a living in Liyue. It's just a sea monster."

"If I have to rely on others for everything, how will my crew look at me?"

Her red eyes gradually deepened to a dark purple.

Boundless lightning began to discharge from her body.

Long ago, even before she had a Vision, Beidou had slain the great beast Haishan.

The woman she was now was far more powerful than she had been then.

"Stormbreaker!!!"

With a furious roar, Beidou's entire body was enveloped in lightning.

At that exact moment, eight tentacles burst from the surface of the sea, lunging straight for The Alcor.

Swish.

Beidou's figure vanished.

The crew only saw a flash of light, like a shooting star, and the four tentacles on the left side were instantly severed.

Scarlet blood rained down from the sky.

But Beidou didn't stop, rushing directly towards the right side.

Having been grievously injured, the Kraken knew it had met a formidable foe. It changed its attack pattern, locking onto Beidou herself.

Four tentacles converged, descending with the force of a falling mountain.

If Beidou dodged, The Alcor would surely have a massive hole smashed through its hull.

If she didn't dodge, she would have to face the thunderous blow head-on.

"Good! Now this is what I call a fight!"

The Dragon-Slaying Sword in Beidou's hands erupted with countless layers of lightning, as terrifying as a tidal wave.

The nearby seawater vaporized into steam before it could even touch her.

BOOM.

The figure and the tentacles collided.

A massive shockwave erupted.

A scene that shocked everyone to their core appeared.

The four converged tentacles were severed once again, and another mournful cry echoed from the depths of the sea.

Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew were completely dumbfounded.

Is that woman even human? How can she kill a monster like that?
