Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Slaying the Kraken with Lightning, and a Ghost Ship Tortured by Permafreeze

The tentacles had been severed.

This Kraken should have known to retreat in the face of such a loss.

However, Beidou noticed that the surface of the sea was still trembling.

"Could it be…"

She suddenly looked up and peered down at the water below the ship.

A bloody maw filled with sharp fangs was rising rapidly from the depths of the sea.

This was the Kraken's true body!

From a distance, Davy Jones roared with laughter. "Woman, I admit you have some skill, but the Kraken is the pet of a goddess!"

"Did you really think it would die so easily?"

"My boys, move in! Ram that ship to pieces for me!"

"Aaargh!" the monstrous sailors shrieked as the ghost ship began to close in on The Alcor.

"Tch. And I thought you were so tough," Beidou scoffed. "Now that your tentacles have grabbed my ship, it means you can no longer escape. As expected, brainless brutes are easy to deal with."

Beidou leaped high into the air, turning back to shout at Ganyu, "That ship is yours! I'll take care of this little octopus!"

"Alright!" Ganyu immediately agreed.

She brought her hands together in front of her chest.

A massive orb of ice materialized and rose directly into the sky.

Though it was a summer's day, the people on the ship suddenly felt the biting cold of winter.

And all around The Alcor, countless icicles began to rain down from the sky.

The entire surface of the sea began to freeze over at a rapid pace!

Even the Kraken was frozen solid along with it.

"Star-Shatterer!" Beidou roared.

A massive peal of thunder boomed.

With a final crash, the giant sea monster was torn apart by the light of her sword.

After landing back on the ship, Beidou looked at the frozen sea and panted slightly. "That took a lot more out of me than I expected. I'll leave the rest to Ganyu."

Don't be fooled by her unrestrained movements.

In reality, to prevent herself from being poisoned or injured, she had been maintaining a high-concentration lightning shield the entire time.

Although she could still fight, her stamina was starting to wane.

She needed to rest for a bit.

Aboard the Flying Dutchman, Davy Jones and his monsters were furious as they found their ship unable to move.

Before they could even attack, the enemy's cannon fire swept over them.

Massive explosions shattered the surface of the ice.

But then, the frost swept over them once more.

From a distance, Ganyu kept her aim fixed on the ghost ship.

One round of cannon fire.

One volley of frostflake arrows.

She kept the ship firmly locked in ice.

It was a bit of a shameless tactic, but what was the point of playing fair with ghosts?

Watching Ganyu coordinate with the crew, Beidou couldn't help but ask Su Han in the group chat if this was his idea.

Su Han:How do you like this combat style? The enemy can only be hit like a sitting duck! Their ship is covered in seawater, so as long as Ganyu keeps shooting, the ghost ship will be unable to move. We can slowly grind them down, and eventually, the ship will break.

Beidou:You're really shameless, you know that? To think you'd come up with a method like this.

Su Han:You flatter me, you flatter me.

This was exactly how the "Permafreeze" strategy worked in the game.

Constant Hydro application, constant freezing.

Since they were on the ocean, they didn't even need a separate Hydro applicator; they could just freeze the enemy indefinitely. It was incredibly satisfying.

From a distance, Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew were completely dumbfounded.

The Kraken being killed was shocking enough.

But they never expected that the terrifying demon, Davy Jones, would be turned into a practice target.

These people were on another level.

"Hey, Barbossa, I say we retreat," Jack whispered. "Once Davy Jones is dead, we might be next."

He had heard the woman say that she wasn't a pirate.

With that kind of terrifying strength, if they weren't pirates, they had to be marines.

If they didn't run now, when would they?

Barbossa's eyes lit up. "You're right. Once Davy Jones is dead, we'll be safe as well. Men, retreat!"

With a great clamor, the nearby surviving ships all turned and fled.

About fifteen minutes later, the battered ghost ship could no longer hold itself together. Ganyu's constant freezing had also shattered the monstrous crewmen into pieces of frozen meat.

It was true that they were immortal.

But the mission requirement was only to defeat the ship.

There was no need to kill the ghosts.

Defeating the vessel was enough!

Looking at the sinking ghost ship, Beidou smiled. "The mission should be over now, right?"

"Almost. It just needs a little more to sink completely," Ganyu replied with a cheerful smile, putting away her bow.

Sure enough, just as the Flying Dutchman sank completely beneath the waves, Beidou finally received the mission completion notification.

"Alright, crew, mission accomplished! Let's head home! What happened here today is not to be spoken of. If anyone lets their tongue slip, don't blame me for being merciless!"

"Hahaha, don't worry, Captain Beidou! We'll just treat it all as a dream!"

"That's right, that's right! I hope we can have some good wine tonight!"

"Alright! I'll have Xiangling come over and cook tonight!"

The mission was a smooth success, and Beidou was in an excellent mood.

Especially after having slain the Kraken. She felt completely refreshed.

Right now, she just wanted to have a few good drinks.

As the fog appeared once more, Beidou's ship vanished from the world of the Caribbean.

However, in this world, a new legend was born.

A lightning-wielding Valkyrie and a horned Ice Nun had thoroughly defeated the evil demon of the seas, Davy Jones. Not only that, but to warn the sea goddess herself, the Valkyrie had even killed Calypso's pet.
