Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Uchiha Obito: Holy Crap! A Box!

Uchiha Obito had always despised Kakashi, especially after he personally witnessed Kakashi kill Rin. Was a mission truly more important than a comrade?

It was incomprehensible. Perhaps this was what it meant to be a ninja—the cruelty of the Shinobi World.

This also led him to gradually understand Uchiha Madara's plan: to use the Infinite Tsukuyomi to create an ideal world without pain.

That was how it was supposed to be. The plan was proceeding smoothly; all he had to do was follow the steps, until...

He saw Kakashi being swallowed by a dark fissure and transported to another world.

Obito didn't know why he chose to follow, why he touched the fissure and left the Shinobi World. Perhaps it was because he had despaired of that world and wanted to see what another might be like.

The world of Jujutsu Kaisen had Cursed Spirits, but they were mostly small-scale disasters. Overall, this world was quite perfect.

Although some regions were at war, to Uchiha Obito, who was born in the Shinobi World, this place was paradise.

"That fissure must have sent me to this world for a reason."

Holding onto this belief, Uchiha Obito began to learn more about this world, gradually coming to understand concepts like productivity.

But then, he saw Kakashi again. The guy just never gave him a moment's peace.

First, he single-handedly assaulted Jujutsu High, and now he was fighting the Special Grade Cursed Spirit, Hanami.

Worst of all, he hadn't even won. It infuriated Obito to see him look so weak despite possessing his Sharingan.

Hanami's Domain Expansion made Obito feel threatened as well. As expected, this world wasn't so simple. If he wasn't careful, he could still mess up—just like Kakashi.

Uchiha Obito watched as Kakashi was bound by a sea of flowers. Though he wanted to sit back and do nothing, he felt an unusual... displeasure in his heart?

But he was supposed to hate Kakashi with every fiber of his being!!!

Obito didn't know why, but upon seeing Hanami about to kill Kakashi, his body moved subconsciously.

'That guy... he shouldn't die here like this...'

The face beneath the mask twisted in conflict as he found an excuse, as if trying to hypnotize himself.

"Kamui!"

...

...

"As I thought, he couldn't resist stepping in."

Schwarzer detected the spatial fluctuation from Kamui. Hanami, however, did not; the massive amount of Cursed Energy in its attack masked the sensation, and Kakashi vanished the moment he was struck.

Realizing that Obito had saved Kakashi, Schwarzer breathed a sigh of relief. If he hadn't acted, she would have had to.

But if she had intervened, it wouldn't have been as subtle as Kamui. The Machine Ex Machina's arsenal didn't contain any quiet equipment; there was no need for it.

It was a pity that Kamui was activated too quickly, and she wasn't the target, so the analysis couldn't be completed.

Still, it was good that Uchiha Obito had appeared. She had already come into contact with the other four, but none of them had the world fragment the System mentioned.

"[Query]Can you confirm if he possesses the world fragment?"

"Barring any surprises, it's definitely on him. However, to retrieve the fragment, you'll need to make physical contact with him..."

The System explained honestly. But physical contact, huh?

"[Understood]I will beat him up."

Schwarzer replied. She highly doubted Obito would be friendly with her. The simplest method was still to beat him into submission.

Okay, maybe there was a bit of a personal grudge involved. If you ran into a real intangibility spammer, wouldn't you want to beat them up?

From thousands of meters up, Schwarzer didn't activate her engines, simply entering a pure freefall toward the ground below.

Obito's mind was still in turmoil. On one hand, he truly hated Kakashi; on the other, he didn't want to see him killed.

After a long, conflicted moment, he still hadn't made a move, instead averting his face to check on the unconscious Kakashi's condition.

His Chakra was severely depleted, and his body was covered in cuts from plants and tree roots, but overall, he was fine.

In other words, he wasn't even seriously injured. Realizing this, Obito breathed a sigh of relief before his expression tensed again. He wasn't worried about whether this guy lived or died.

It was just that... he didn't want him killed by some unknown entity. He hadn't made his own move yet, hadn't made Kakashi feel the pain of losing everything. How could he let him die so easily!

As if his logic had finally fallen into place, Obito relaxed slightly. He casually turned off a cell phone and tossed it onto Kakashi.

"You are my... enemy. You're not allowed to die so easily at the hands of another."

With those final words, Obito turned to leave... Wait! Above!

There was no Chakra fluctuation, but a ninja's sharp intuition, along with a shift in the air currents, alerted him that something was approaching from the sky.

He wasn't like Kakashi. Having only been in this new world for a couple of days, Obito had no intention of fighting whoever was coming from above; it would be pointless.

Just as he was about to retreat into the Kamui dimension again, he caught a glimpse of the unconscious Kakashi, who was clearly in no condition to fight.

"Damn it!"

Obito cursed under his breath, lunging toward Kakashi, grabbing him, and leaping back to evade.

He'd already gone to the trouble of saving Kakashi. If he just left him here to be killed, wouldn't that have been a waste?

But contrary to what he expected, what fell from the sky wasn't an attack, but a... girl? She was wearing what looked like a hooded pajama set.

Schwarzer's frame indeed looked very young, but Obito's sharp eyes noticed more than just that.

A metallic body and two trailing tails. Though humanoid, she looked more like a puppet, and she had no Chakra!

'This thing, is it a Cursed Spirit? An ally of that other one?'

Having used Kakashi to gather intelligence, Obito had already learned a great deal about the jujutsu world.

The only ones from the Shinobi World should be his small group. This person had no Chakra, so she must be native to this world. If she wasn't human, then she had to be a Cursed Spirit.

Uchiha Obito quickly made his judgment. There was no need to fight her. At worst, he could just take Kakashi and hide in the Kamui dimension.

With that thought, Obito's eye narrowed slightly as he prepared to activate Kamui, but Schwarzer's next words stopped him in his tracks.

"[Announcement]Uchiha Obito, I have come to make a deal with you."

What the hell?! My cover's blown!

Uchiha Obito's body froze, and he fought to control his movements to avoid showing any weakness.

Although he desperately wanted to deny it, the other party's tone made it clear that she saw right through his identity.

But how? She had no Chakra and didn't look like a normal human. Based on his understanding of this world, she should be a Cursed Spirit.

Why would she be able to recognize him?

"Who are you?"

Despite his profound shock, Obito didn't let it show. The mask and his Akatsuki cloak effectively concealed his entire body, making him appear surprisingly calm.

However, the slight tremor in his eyes still betrayed the panic he felt at having his identity exposed.
