Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Uchiha Itachi Appears, Powerless Sasuke

Gojo Satoru's little scheme was well-calculated. Regardless of whether Schwarzer was deceiving him, once the binding was made, she couldn't proactively kill humans.

Teaching her how to use Cursed Energy didn't matter; as a Cursed Spirit, she would have figured it out on her own soon enough anyway.

Simply put, it was a classic case of getting something for nothing. Of course, he was also curious if Cursed Spirits could coexist with humans. To that end, even if others wanted to exorcise Schwarzer, he wouldn't stand by and watch.

But would she really need his help? Gojo Satoru watched as Schwarzer once again vanished before his eyes.

This time, he caught a glimpse of something—she had left through a blue spatial corridor.

"Since when did Cursed Spirits get so sci-fi? Was she born from humanity's fear of technology?"

The ability Schwarzer used was obvious—the kind of spatial teleportation common in science fiction films. Realizing this, he couldn't help but make a sarcastic comment.

Now he also understood how she knew his phone number; it was likely some kind of hacking-related ability.

An ability like that is terrifying in modern society. And her Cursed Energy is on par with me, the strongest. Her mechanics and stats are completely maxed out!

It was a good thing he encountered her this early. Otherwise, if she were provoked by those old geezers in the Jujutsu world... he had no desire to enter a Fallout timeline.

The thought that she could potentially control nuclear missiles with her network abilities sent a shiver down Gojo Satoru's spine, making him thankful for his decision.

Schwarzer was unaware of Gojo Satoru's thoughts. She had intended to show off a little to intimidate him, but she hadn't expected him to think so far ahead.

Her other hand had been hidden behind her clothes the whole time, holding a magical array glowing with green light—hypnosis magic from the Elves, capable of influencing a person's subconscious to control their behavior, and incredibly difficult to detect.

Even for Gojo Satoru, the strongest, he had no defense against magic from another world.

In other words, tonight's entire conversation had been under Schwarzer's control from start to finish.

As for the binding not to proactively kill humans? Not only did she have no intention of killing people randomly in the first place, but if a situation arose where she needed to act, it held no real power over her.

A contract, in the end, relies on the existence of Cursed Energy. As long as she converted all the Cursed Energy in her body into another form of power, the binding would become meaningless.

"The identity of Gojo Satoru's student, while not critically important, will make many things much more convenient."

"It can be confirmed that the current timeline is Itadori's death. The Sister School Exchange Event is tomorrow."

The previously silent System popped up to make its presence known. Its role was to be the host's safety net, but since everything had gone smoothly, it wasn't needed.

However, its appearance this time naturally meant there was a new development.

"Uchiha Sasuke's location has been found. Based on his appearance, it can be confirmed that this is before the Chunin Exams."

The System's words immediately caught Schwarzer's attention. She instantly looked at the surveillance feed, where Sasuke was standing alone on a street, though she couldn't tell what he was doing.

...

...

As a modern man, Gojo Satoru obviously had a phone... but Sasuke and Naruto certainly did not.

However, even without phones, some people could still contact each other, for instance—by relying on blood ties.

Just after Kakashi had stepped out, Sasuke and Naruto obediently prepared to rest, conserving their energy for the next day's exploration.

After some time, Naruto was sound asleep, but Sasuke felt no drowsiness at all.

He couldn't be as carefree as Naruto; the unfamiliar environment made him extremely uncomfortable. And most importantly—he thought of Uchiha Itachi.

In the dark room, he felt something watching him. In Tokyo at night, even with the lights off, a room would never be pitch-black.

Sasuke confirmed with his ninja vision that there was nothing strange in the room. It seemed like a hallucination...

No!

Sasuke instinctively activated his Sharingan, but it was only a two-tomoe.

Any other Uchiha who had survived the night of the massacre would have at least awakened their Sharingan. Perhaps this just made him the ultimate champion of stress resistance.

What was so wrong with his surroundings?

Even with the Sharingan, he couldn't observe any anomaly, yet the sense of unease in his heart grew stronger.

Sasuke glanced at the sleeping Naruto, picked up a kunai, and left the room alone.

He was certain that whoever it was, they were after him. He had been in this world for less than a day; who could he have possibly offended?

Under a dim streetlight, Sasuke stood in the middle of the road. There was no one on the street at this hour, but this was Tokyo. How could it possibly be so quiet?

As if to prove his intuition correct, the streetlights began to flicker irregularly, affecting his vision.

Sasuke's attention was drawn for an instant, and then—

"Thud!"

He thrust his kunai fiercely behind him. With a dull thud, his hand was caught, unable to move an inch.

"Is this all you amount to? After all this time."

Before his eyes was a black robe with red clouds. Before he could even see the person's face, Sasuke's entire body went rigid.

He would never forget that voice—

"Uchiha Itachi!!!"

"Bam!"

Ignoring his captured hand, Sasuke kicked out with all his might, aiming straight for the man's face—only to be thrown aside.

The gap was too vast. Even with all his strength, Sasuke couldn't even touch him.

'Is his hatred still insufficient?' Uchiha Itachi was somewhat disappointed. He hadn't expected Sasuke to be this weak, so weak he barely seemed like an Uchiha.

Now wasn't a good time for a 'reunion.' A new world brought unknown dangers, and he had come to check on Sasuke's safety.

As a true Uchiha zealot, Uchiha Itachi's thought process was beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. With Konoha in no immediate danger, he had resolutely followed Sasuke into this world.

The only thing that surprised him was that his covert observation had been noticed.

But when he tested him, he found this was all Sasuke had. A two-tomoe Sharingan... it almost made him want to roll his eyes. Only his intuition was worthy of praise.

"If this is all you have, you're a disgrace to the Uchiha clan. I don't even feel the desire to kill you."

"You might as well just live in this new world. After all, the people here are just like you—equally weak."

Sasuke wanted to retort, but then he saw the other's Mangekyo Sharingan. Under such immense pressure, his body was completely paralyzed.

He could only watch helplessly as the figure retreated into the darkness. As Uchiha Itachi's silhouette vanished, the surroundings returned to normal.

A few scattered people were around, seemingly drunk office workers heading home. Tokyo was a city that never slept.

"Uchiha Itachi!!!"

Sasuke screamed alone in the street, his voice heart-wrenching. The people around cast sympathetic glances his way.

'Maybe he just got dumped,' someone whispered.
