The overly unfamiliar environment still affected Kakashi's judgment. Arriving in another world with two others—it was a situation no one had any experience with.
Fortunately, he wasn't truly reckless. A single shadow clone was enough to gather intelligence; even if it ran into trouble, he wouldn't be putting his own life on the line.
Kakashi was currently infiltrating Jujutsu High alone, and at that very moment, a certain "strongest" had already returned to the campus.
The few people in the room looked dejected. Just a few days ago, Itadori had been declared dead.
Without any warning, Gojo Satoru's voice filled the room.
"The exchange event is just around the corner. You guys need to cheer up."
Faced with Gojo Satoru's sudden appearance, Fushiguro Megumi and the others were still a little startled, despite having seen it happen many times before.
"We know. Everyone's ready, but... being one person short puts us at a huge disadvantage."
Fushiguro Megumi said, his expression clearly somber.
Nobara, who was standing nearby, was equally glum, clearly still affected by Itadori's death.
As members of the same team, even though they hadn't known each other for long, how could they not care about whether their teammate lived or died?
Gojo Satoru saw what they were thinking. It seemed the team had already started to bond. After all, if the one who died hadn't been a comrade, they wouldn't be this sad.
"Don't you worry. I've prepared a surprise for you, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow."
Gojo Satoru said with a smile, leaving them in suspense.
He had already seen the revived Itadori. The kid's body had fully recovered; he was sure to give them an unexpected surprise tomorrow!
But for now...
Gojo Satoru turned his head slightly, looking in a certain direction outside Jujutsu High.
Someone was approaching quickly, and they possessed a very strong Cursed Energy. Or was that thing even Cursed Energy?
Gojo Satoru's Six Eyes gave him a 360-degree, dead-angle-free field of vision, and it also allowed him to see the flow of Cursed Energy.
However, he had never seen the strange kind of Cursed Energy that Kakashi possessed. The proportion of negative emotions was abnormally low, and it was mixed with a large amount of positive emotions.
'What's with this? Not even Reverse Cursed Technique gives off an aura like this.'
For the first time in a long while, a look of confusion appeared on Gojo Satoru's face. He couldn't see through it. He couldn't see through it at all.
Even with the Six Eyes, he couldn't discern the other party's technique. However, that unique Cursed Energy he carried was far too conspicuous in the jujutsu world.
"It's already late. You guys get some rest, and don't let me down tomorrow."
He waved his hand and walked out of Jujutsu High as if nothing had happened, leaving the others staring at each other in bewilderment.
"So what exactly did he come here for?"
"Maybe he wanted to cheer us up."
Nobara and Fushiguro Megumi looked at each other, not understanding. But after the interruption, their moods had indeed improved quite a bit.
'A surprise tomorrow? What could it be?'
After all, coming from the "strongest" Special Grade sorcerer in the jujutsu world, what kind of surprise could Gojo Satoru be talking about? The two of them were extremely curious.
Seeing that he had left without any intention of revealing more, they didn't press the matter. They would find out tomorrow anyway.
...
...
After briefly observing his students' condition, Gojo Satoru was quite satisfied with their reaction. To grieve for a comrade meant that, at the very least, they had come to acknowledge one another.
There were too many bigwigs in the jujutsu world. Perhaps because Cursed Energy stemmed from negative emotions, most jujutsu sorcerers were hardly human.
Gojo Satoru's goal in becoming a teacher was precisely to create a brand-new jujutsu world by influencing the next generation through education.
Thinking about all this, Gojo Satoru strolled along without a care in the world, eating an ice cream bar he had swiped from who-knows-where.
Even after detecting someone approaching, he remained just as calm and unhurried.
On one hand, it was his confidence in being the strongest in the jujutsu world. On the other, the strange Cursed Energy on the intruder had too few negative emotions.
Although he didn't know what it was, a being with such Cursed Energy probably wasn't a bad person. At least, the first impression they gave him was far better than most others in the jujutsu world.
"Come on out, stranger. I spotted you a long time ago."
"That unique Cursed Energy of yours is too conspicuous. In my vision, it's like a torch."
The dim streetlight only illuminated the area around him, while the woods a little further away were shrouded in complete darkness.
Gojo Satoru's voice echoed, but nothing happened.
'Cursed Energy... is that what they call that strange chakra of theirs?'
More than ten meters behind him, Kakashi was completely hidden behind a tree, analyzing the information in the other man's words.
The blindfold the other man wore should have completely obscured his vision, yet he said he saw him. Was it some kind of ability to perceive chakra?
Before he could think any further, his battle-honed instincts screamed of intense danger.
Poof!
With a gust of air and a puff of smoke, the Kakashi that was in the tree turned into a log stump. Behind the stump was Gojo Satoru, one hand outstretched.
"Not bad reflexes." He tossed away the log he had grabbed. From the look of it, if Kakashi hadn't used the Body Flicker Technique in time, his hand would have closed around Kakashi's shoulder.
'When?!'
A red light glowed in Kakashi's left eye; his Sharingan had activated with three tomoe, but even so, he hadn't been able to follow the man's movements.
To appear behind him in an instant... the only possibility was—Space-Time Ninjutsu!
This was trouble. He hadn't expected that a simple probe would get him targeted by such a powerful individual.
It was a good thing he hadn't sent his real body. Otherwise, he had no confidence he could escape from this man's grasp.
"What's wrong? Not going to chat with me? Or do you plan on letting me drag you back first before we talk?"
Gojo Satoru's attitude hadn't changed. He had no intention of killing his opponent; he was simply curious about that Cursed Energy of his.
Of course, a peaceful resolution would be best, but he could see the will to fight in the other's eyes.
And what was with that strange red eye? He had never seen an eye like that before. It seemed this person had quite a few secrets.
And, most importantly, it had been a long time since anyone dared to challenge him!
No need to rush. I'll play with him a bit.
Gojo Satoru rushed forward, engaging in pure hand-to-hand combat. This time, Kakashi was able to react.
The two exchanged blows rapidly. Neither's taijutsu was weak, but there wasn't a crushing difference either. It was clear they were both holding back in their fight.
While their bodies clashed, thousands of meters up in the sky, Schwarzer watched from a distance.
'Analysis in progress... Subject... Cursed Energy... Chakra...'
Neither of them was using ninjutsu or jujutsu, but their mere appearance in her field of vision was enough for Schwarzer to acquire sufficient data.
To think her plan hadn't even begun, and these two had already run into each other. Was this some kind of guidance from fate?
Go on and fight. It's not like you'll kill each other. The more chaos, the better...
