Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 Hookah Skull

The recipe for the "Wizard's Eye" potion was extremely complex, requiring at least six or seven days.

While Anna's castle had a wealth of potion ingredients, some that were unsuitable for preservation necessitated a trip to Knockturn Alley. These included living creatures like leeches and rats.

To prevent himself from interfering with "time," he had to brew Polyjuice Potion and obtain hair from Muggle society, disguised as a way to enter and purchase the potions.

  Time stretched even further.

While Anton was brewing the potion, the old wizard expelled the goblin Pedro, not wanting his knowledge to be shared with others, especially his enemies.

Crucially, while the potion was being prepared, he continued his lecture on Fiennes' Potions Course, reconstructing the art of potion-making through the lens of magical vision and spellcasting.

Anna consciously avoided peeking in. Her family upbringing had taught her what to observe and what not to observe.

Especially since she had finally been able to travel back thirty-eight years, she begged Pedro to take her to see her mother.

God knows how much courage Pedro mustered.

You have to remember that his strength is no match for the Pedro he'd been thirty-eight years earlier, and that Pedro thirty-eight years earlier had nearly been utterly shattered by Rosier. Now, that Pedro had faked his own death and escaped, while Rosier, with murderous intent, was pursuing him across the world.

And then he sneaked back to his own house?

He was desperate to live, wasn't he? But Anna's pleas were so pitiful they touched his aging heart. Anna was always happy. Upon returning home, she would go to the laboratory and chat with Anton about the funny things she had seen. Her mother had tried to put her six-year-old daughter to sleep with the story of The Little Prince, but she had fallen asleep first.

Her mother had braided her hair beautifully. Her snake-loving mother's favorite plant had finally bloomed today, its petals elegant and delicately fragrant.

Anna wrinkled her nose, worried that the flowers that snakes loved so much had attracted a larger snake, resulting in her mother's death while trying to save it.

Until that day. Peter had trapped a large snake in a corner outside the castle wall. A three-and-a-half-meter-long viper, its body mottled with scars from numerous wounds. It was the giant snake Anton had rescued on the island.

Anna wept inconsolably. "So it was the gigantic time tornado Anna made that brought the snake back thirty-eight years ago, causing my mother's death. Anna is a bad person!"

Fairy Peter sighed and rubbed his little head. "Time travel is dangerous. Sometimes we think we can change something, but in reality, it's just fate mocking us and playing tricks on us."

The old wizard remained silent, stroking his head in his arms without chuckling. He sighed. "Fate is so cruel."

Anton looked puzzled. Silently, he placed the potion in his hand, took off his dragonskin gloves, and looked at Anna with a complicated expression. He hesitated for a moment, but finally sighed and patted Anna's hand earnestly.

"The truth is even crueler than you see."

"I don't know if I should tell you, but sooner or later you'll find out."

Anna looked at Anton in astonishment, her eyes filled with panic. She looked at Pedro, then stared at him.

"I remember you mentioned it. You know of my mother's exploits. Tell me, I'm stronger than you think!"

"Perhaps," Anton pointed to the giant snake. Now, captive by Pedro's magic, a gigantic, purple-skinned magical golem held it in a fierce and firm grip, their rage united against a common enemy.

It seemed that, at Anna's command, the golem's ten arms would unleash their power and tear the snake apart.

"The name of the snake..."

"Nagini."

"What!" Anna was stunned, staring at the snake in disbelief.

"What!" Pedro was stunned.

He quickly disarmed the golem, and the snake fell to the floor, slithering swiftly to the corner of the room.

"What!" The old wizard was stunned. He... oh, he didn't have much to do right now, so his reaction didn't matter, so he would skip it. "Yes," Anton looked at Anna and Pedro seriously.

"It's Nagini!"

"Impossible!" Pedro, the goblin, cried. The air before his eyes trembled, countless ripples running through it. Through the ripples, his eyes, already open, seemed even larger than his head.

Anna clutched the hem of Pedro's jacket tightly, nervously watching his mouth, anxiously awaiting an answer.

"I..." "I don't know."

"I see that inside the snake resides the soul of a woman, but she's completely transformed. The spell has penetrated her. Her body cannot transform again, and her soul has completely solidified into the form of a snake."

Pedro looked at Anton with a blank stare, his voice dry.

"Tell me, if Rosier isn't lying, is she really my daughter? The blood curse I invented..."

He seemed to have aged suddenly, his already small body hunched over, his eyes filled with bitterness. He collapsed on the floor, slapping himself repeatedly.

"I'm an asshole, I'm an asshole..."

Everyone was lost in sadness. Anna cried and looked sadly at the snake. Before, Anna had been so afraid of it that she couldn't even look at it. It was right next to me, and for six months, Anna didn't even look at it. He took small steps closer, but the snake suddenly reared up, sticking out its tongue, alert, as if ready to strike.

The old wizard shouted in panic:

"Anna, don't come any closer! It's just a snake now, it'll kill you!"

"Ding!"

"Ding, ding!"

  There was a sharp sound.

Everyone turned to look. Anton tapped the potion cauldron with his wand.

"My 'Wizard's Eye' potion is ready. Mister Peter, didn't you say you wanted me to use the 'Bionic Charm' to learn how to imitate your secret 'Fairy Eye' technique?"

"Now is the perfect time. You can demonstrate how the 'Fairy Eye' explores memories."

"Forks!"

Fairy Peter jumped up.

"Yes, I want to explore her memories. 'Fairy Eyes' isn't just any ordinary fairy secret technique; it's unique to the class 'Fairy Collector of Time and Memory.' Even if her memories have been obliterated by the blood curse, I can see them!"

Anton waved his wand, and some of the potion in the crucible floated into the air. "So, shall we begin?"

"Wait a minute!" Anna cried anxiously. "Wait a minute!"

She waited for Anton and Pedro to agree, then quickly ran deeper into the castle. Soon, she returned with a strange magical object.

It was made of a skull, with a flexible tube extending from the base.

Engraved in German on the skull's forehead were the words: "Für das Grere Wohl-1898" (For the Greater Good).

"Use this, a legacy from my kinsman Vida Rosier." Anna held the skull and handed the tube to Pedro.

"The hookah skull can show me what you see simultaneously." Her eyes were more determined than ever. "I! Want! To! See!"

  ...

P.S.: Miss Vader in Fantastic Beasts 2 is so pitiful. The man she likes is not straight at all.
