Pedro's smile faded into a mournful expression. He sighed, reached into his chest, and pulled out a rope of bluish-purple light.
"I've been wondering when I signed this 'unbreakable vow' spell. Now that I think about it, it must have been Rosier who cast it on me. This must have been his binding agreement to take care of Anna."
With a pop, the rope of light transformed into a point of light and sank back into his chest.
He was silent for a long time and looked at Anna seriously, "Child, I also want to know if I am your grandfather. I am hundreds of years old, and the history of goblins is too heavy. I have carried it for hundreds of years, and I can't bear it anymore. Maybe my life will pass away quietly someday."
"When people get old, they always pay special attention to their bloodline inheritance."
"This world is no longer the world of goblins, and the goblins in Gringotts are no longer the ancient goblins. The goblin history I carry will only bring them disasters. Let me take this history into death and completely break this idea."
Anna grabbed his sleeve nervously, "No! Don't die! Anna already has no mother, and can't be without a grandfather."
Pedro rubbed her little head with pity, "No, ancient goblins have the longest lifespan. I don't know if I can help you take care of your children in the future."
"Ah? Children?" Anna blushed suddenly.
"Hehe." Pedro smiled fondly. "Anna will eventually grow up, get married, and have children."
"Trust me, I will restore your memory of the blood curse and allow you to live a normal life."
He looked at the others.
First, the old wizard. He sneered, "This one's over."
Finally, he looked at Anton.
"I was unconscious before, but I can still receive information from the outside world. Thank you for not abandoning me on the island."
Anton smiled faintly. "There are things you should do and things you shouldn't do."
This sentence was said in English. The old wizard didn't understand, but the experienced goblin did.
He smiled and nodded. "Your invention of the 'Bionic Charm' is interesting, but it's clear you still haven't discovered the secret of Fiennes' 'Wizard's Eye' potion."
The old wizard was stunned. "What's the secret?"
Pedro rolled his eyes. "I don't want to talk to you. Go away."
He looked at Anton again. "The Wizard's Eye potion, combined with the Bionic Charm, will allow you to learn goblin magic."
Anton stared at the goblin. "You want to teach me goblin magic?"
There are no gifts in the world without reason. This is the experience he has gained since traveling through time almost a year.
Knowledge, in particular, represents immense power and wealth in the wizarding world, deeply building a high wall through countless classes.
Pedro nodded. "I'm certain I haven't erased my memory of the Blood Curse, so it must still be in my mind, though I don't know why. So, I need someone to help me search my memories."
"Drink the Wizard's Eye potion, learn my 'Fairy Eye' spell, and then use it to access my memories and search."
Anton looked puzzled. "Wizard's Eye, Fairy Eye?"
Pedro shrugged. "Apparently, my foolish apprentice thought he was better than his teacher and wanted to create an eye spell himself."
The old wizard looked proud. "I did!"
Now, here's the problem.
The Wizard's Eye potion requires all the ingredients the old wizard has accumulated over seventy years of his life.
Where can I find them now?
Anna's eyes lit up. "It's in the castle at Blooming Manor!"
"My mother doesn't like living in the castle, so my father built a cabin outside. They rarely go there. Last year, for my birthday, my father gave me this castle as a birthday present. I know how to get in and out!"
...
With Pedro's considerable skills, the group's travels finally became much easier.
With a soft bang, several people appeared on the hillside not far from the Wanhua Manor.
Pedro snapped his fingers, and Anton felt a chill run through his body, as if washed by cold water. "Fairy Secret Magic, similar to a wizard's Disillusionment and Confusion spells combined."
"Remember, the most important thing about time travel is not to come into contact with anyone, especially yourself."
Anton's face was strange.
The old wizard scoffed, "Aha, that's ridiculous coming from you."
Pedro, rarely able to refrain from retaliating, sighed, "Yes, I'm an example. Constant contact with myself has caused my memory to become distorted."
The castle was large, with a fountain at the entrance.
Within the fountain was a statue of a beautiful mermaid-like goddess. Her swaying tail cast a colorful halo in the water. She extended a hand into the fountain's basin, her eyes filled with compassion for the world.
Anna stood on tiptoe and placed her small hand on the goddess's. Magical light shone between them, and a gate appeared beside the pool, with stone steps leading down from the gate.
"Hehe," Anna explained to Anton with a hint of pride, "This is the only way to safely enter the castle. Inside the gate are all animated puppets, very ferocious."
Anton looked up in amazement. The castle seemed incredibly tall, its pointed roof crowned with various sculptures. Against the backdrop of the sunlight, it looked so majestic and imposing.
"I just realized you're actually quite wealthy."
Anna placed her hands behind her back, gracefully straightening her neck. She smiled shyly at the words, "Let's go in."
The castle's interior was luxurious. Dark gold picture frames hung on the time-worn stone walls, bearing the marks of different eras, and every detail revealed the ancient heritage of the Rosier family.
The only drawback was that it was damn dark.
And gloomy.
Anton finally understood why the ancient Chinese disliked building castles. Their sturdiness was only suitable for border areas prone to frequent wars. Besides the solidity, Anton felt like he was walking in a magnificent tomb.
Especially with a headless ghost floating beside him, the atmosphere suddenly became tense.
Anna didn't have any magic power yet and couldn't cast any spells. Pedro, the old goblin, was too proud of his status to do anything. Everyone looked at Anton eagerly.
"..."
Damn, he hadn't learned the Lumos spell. His schedule was packed to the extreme. Who would have the mood to learn it? Wouldn't it be better to turn on the lights?
The old wizard obviously saw his predicament and laughed evilly, but still gave a hint, "Wizards are gods."
Pedro exploded the moment he heard this, "You stupid human, gods? Are you wizards so arrogant now?"
Anton smiled and stopped their endless quarreling, "Everyone can be on par with gods, not because of their birth, but because of their own hearts."
He closed his eyes and was silent for a moment, opened his eyes, and waved his wand.
"I command you!"
"Lights on!"
Countless points of light gushed out from his wand, and then, as if a gust of wind blew over, all the points of light exploded.
It was as if the fluorescent lights in the dim room were suddenly turned on, and the whole castle was as bright as day.
"Wow~" the old wizard applauded in admiration.
Anna's eyes sparkled, and Pedro was surprised.
Anton frowned, "The consumption of this time can allow me to release two armors to protect myself."
The old wizard laughed, "Just like you always say, the future is promising, isn't it?"
