Kate helped me, and soon I was done with the laundry before she left to continue her duty.
I couldn't have been more grateful that she had helped. But then, I couldn't stop reminding myself what this lady had really made me go through. The hurt, the trauma, and the sudden, bitter realizations from the past.
I had just settled back against the pillar, trying to catch my breath, when Anabel walked in. From her scent I already knew she was the one, even without turning to look in her direction.
"Well, I would say you make a fine slave. No wonder, you even went so far as to commit a crime," she snapped, handing me a cup of water.
"For what?" I asked, narrowing my gaze.
"Take it," she urged. I did, glaring at the water in my hands. If she ever thought I would accept that from her and drink, she must be mistaken.
"Follow me," she instructed. I kept glaring at the cup. "Follow me with that water," she clarified, and stood before me, hands waiting for the cup in mine.
