Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: There Is a Folk Culture Shop

As July approached, it was the hottest time of the year in Qinghe City.

Due to graduation season, the campus of Qing University was bustling; some students were carrying books, heading to class together, while others were carrying luggage, preparing to leave.

Mu Yunchu belonged to the latter group.

Now, having finished her third year, it was typically time for students to go for internships.

Seeing her calm expression, her roommate Zhao Qingqing couldn't hold back any longer and spoke up, "Yun Chu, have you really not considered Xu Qiu? He's been pursuing you for three years, and he seems pretty sincere to me."

"Besides, he seems to be waiting downstairs, saying he won't leave until he sees you."

This Xu Qiu was a fellow student in their grade, handsome and from a good family. Most importantly, he was very devoted, or else they wouldn't have much to say about him.

Mu Yunchu had mostly finished packing. She paused, thought for a moment, and then slightly furrowed her brows, saying, "This isn't quite right."

"Huh?" Zhao Qingqing blinked.

She said seriously, "Xu Qiu has messy eyebrows, like wild overgrown grass, indicating an unstable personality, like a feather adrift in the wind, without anchor. In terms of relationships, it's most unpredictable, easy to develop divided affections, and attach emotions everywhere, this is the sign of a philanderer."

"Furthermore, his face shows a romantic star moving, and his philtrum is clear and long, indicating smooth emotions and lasting relationships, suggesting not only does he have a girlfriend, but they've been together for a long time."

After this explanation, Zhao Qingqing was left with her mouth agape, not knowing what to say.

"Yun, Yun Chu, you can read faces?"

She was both surprised and doubtful. Although she'd known Mu Yunchu for three years in college, she never knew she had such a skill.

Mu Yunchu didn't answer directly, but instead shifted her gaze towards the man downstairs holding a red rose, speaking without any emotional fluctuation, "His girlfriend will call him soon, and then he'll leave hurriedly."

All three roommates crowded by the window to watch.

Indeed, within five minutes, the man who had sworn he'd confess to Mu Yunchu in person left just like that.

The three were astonished.

"He left, he really left!"

"Wow, Yun Chu, how did you know?"

When they turned back, they realized Mu Yunchu had finished packing her suitcase. Earlier, they had all been focused on Xu Qiu and neglected this fact.

"Yun Chu, are you leaving already?"

"Yeah, have you found a place for your internship?"

"If it's still in Qinghe City, you can come back to the dorm at night to save a lot of money."

Mu Yunchu's eyes lowered slightly, her long eyelashes casting shadows on her cheeks, which were flawless despite wearing little to no makeup. After pondering a moment, she spoke:

"It's not exactly a job."

"It's just that my uncle passed away, and I need to inherit his shop."

"Ah?" The three roommates simultaneously showed an apologetic expression, "We're sorry, Yun Chu, our condolences."

"It's okay."

Mu Yunchu wasn't particularly saddened by this, as she had foreseen it a long time ago.

Instead, it was another matter that she couldn't quite let go of.

Looking up worriedly at Zhao Qingqing, who was shrouded in black aura, she said something that others found hard to understand, "Normally, I should stay until the matter is resolved."

She took out a business card and handed it over, "Be extremely cautious when you travel recently. If you encounter any unsolvable problems, call this number."

Zhao Qingqing took it in a daze, looking down to see neatly handwritten words on it.

The top large characters were particularly prominent:

Folk Culture Shop...???

Is this the shop Mu Yunchu was going to take over?

Could it be that she gave the wrong card…

Wanting to clarify, Mu Yunchu had already left the dorm with her suitcase.

Mu Yunchu sat on the bus heading back to the suburb, ignoring the occasional glances from others, and looked out the window as past events flashed by like fleeting horses.

She referred to him as her uncle, but in reality, he was more like her master.

Mu Yunchu's master was a charlatan, dabbling in fortune-telling, feng shui, and the metaphysical. Not that he knew nothing, but his predictions were occasionally accurate and occasionally not. Since they met when she was five, the times he wasn't called a fraud could be counted on one hand.

What her master didn't know was that he might have been a charlatan, but Mu Yunchu wasn't.

Since engaging with Taoist teachings, every night after sleeping, she would have strange dreams, with all sorts of knowledge being transmitted into her mind. By the age of eight, she had already surpassed her master's capabilities of several decades.
