Mellisa's POV
My light feet hit the bare forest floor, I zoom past the trees in a blur. Aiden and Fred were behind me, though they had shifted to their wolf form.
"Lenny, are all the kids and aged in the bunker?" I ask the strongest female warrior that I had posted to the bunker.
"Yes, Alpha. Dennis and a few others just arrived with the members of the Red Crescent that can't fight."
"Good. Are you guys safe though?"
"Yes Alpha, I can't sense any strange scent."
"Keep me posted." I zipped out of the mindlink.
"Alpha, please thread carefully incase a wolf is lucky nearby." Aiden voices his concern.
The usually quiet forest is filled with the loud thuds of my warriors behind us.
"I'll be just fine, the border patrol are left alone with very sixty warriors."
"Can you sense them?" Fred finally speaks.
"Not all of them, I never expected them to attack in broad day light," I utter with pain.
I looked ahead and saw wolves ripping at each other.
"Attack in formation," I order through the mindlink to every warrior around the clearing.
I saw a strange warrior attacking a wolf with a scent of the Red Crescent pack.
I jump midair shifting to my wolf. I snatch the enemy with my teeth, bite down hard and fling him towards a tree nearby.
"Wait, she is a white wolf?" Gasps of surprise round the members of the Red Crescent I'm the clearing.
"How?" They resound in surprise. Their whispers fill my mind, I'd need to block them out soon.
"Alpha, watch!" Aiden screams through the mindlink, but before I could react a familiar black wolf intercepts and rips the wolf to shreds.
"Thank you," I say, pushing through the black wolf's barriers in his mind. It's eyes widen in surprise, but gives me a nod and rushes off to join the fight.
"You seem to be lost in the moment with your boo." Fred taunts me in my head.
"You're an idiot, you know." I mutter as he approaches me. I just realized that my savour is Adam, my ex-mate.
"Well, you still love me." Aiden then stalks towards us, blood dripping from his mouth.
"Let's do this how best we were taught," Fred says.
"Together?" I ask, already knowing the answer.
"Together!!!" They answer together, we step into the heat of the fight, watching each other's back and tearing into wolves.
"Baby, you dare make Monica trick your Mom and I into staying in the bunker." My Dad asks through the mining seething.
A small chuckle resounds in my mind. "Dad, it's not so. But I can't bear to lose you and Mom for anything," I say sternly.
"You've always been as stubborn as your Dad." My Mom's sweet voice resounds in my mind, chuckling softly.
"Please, she's nothing like me. I'm not that stubborn." Dad says grumpily, I know he's strong, but this is war.
Multiple searing pain shoots through my chest, I just lost some members of my pack.
"I'll get back to you, Dad and Mom." I say, suppressing the pain I feel.
The pain makes me stagger, this has never happened. I see hundreds of wolves coming from the unclaimed territory.
"How are they so many?" Fred screams in exasperation.
"The bigger question is how come we can't sense any of them? Not even you, Alpha." Aiden answers thoughtfully in pain.
Anger surges through my veins at the loss, I lift my snout and release a loud howl.
"They planned this out better it'll seem." Aiden grumpily says.
"Alpha, they're hitting hard at the bunker, it's proving harder than they thought. But we'll be fine." Lenny says through the pack link.
Sending me a visual image of what is happening, Aiden and Fred covered me.
The entire pack growling in warning, I briefly see my Mom and Dad.
"Thank you, Lenny. The moon goddess keeps you safe."
"May the goddess keep you too, Alpha. Stay safe," Lenny says and I shut the mindlink.
"More are getting seriously injured, Alpha. They just keep coming." Fred, says next to me.
I peer around us, "They are trying to box us in."
"Archers, are you in place?" I order through the mindlink.
"Yes, Alpha." A unison of replies echo in my head, I can sense them above us.
"Can you see them, and pick them out?"
"Yes, Alpha." Most of my Archers were young Omegas that didn't have wolves, though they were of age. Also, a few other wolves that wanted to join in.
I tore into a wolf about to rip out the neck of a young wounded warrior.
"Thank you, Alpha." He mentions.
I nod towards the trees, "Climb a tree house for safety, you're too wounded to keep going."
He nods in appreciation and limps into the trees, I follow him with my Yes until he's out of sight.
"Stay, stay, aim at a particular target," I get back on my orders to the Archers, this should give us some advantage.
They just keep coming, it would seem they are over five hundred. Bodies littered the open space.
"Fire," A row of multiple arrows made from silver passes over me and rains on the unsuspecting assailants.
It seems to have thrown them in a panic. Their bodies hit the ground.
"Fire again," I ordered, another row coming from the trees. Their numbers are dwindling at least.
"Fire," I ordered again. They aimed at them, this time some were able to maneuver.
"Hold, they have gotten a hang of it," I say, shutting my mindlink.
"Head back to the pack grounds to cover Lenny and the others. Use the tree tops." I ordered.
Gradually both sides seem to be getting tired out, we have been getting at this for hours.
"They are just like roaches, the more you kill. The more these things come out from nowhere." Fred mutters in irritation.
Then a loud ferocious growl resounds in the clearing. I twisted my neck in alarm. A partially shifted large man with a strong aura approached me at top speed.
"It would seem someone has a personal issue with me."
Fred attempts to interrupt, "Stand down all of you." I order all my warriors including the ones of the Red Crescent.
"They've been trying to get to me from the beginning. Let them have a taste of my wrath."
"Alpha," the stranger says with spite. "What a pleasant surprise, we finally get to meet, at least no interference this time."
I release a loud growl, "You dare come into my territory and challenge me?" I speak, pushing past his barriers into his mind
His eyes widen slightly but he composes himself and keeps going further, "I'm not even done yet. I would like to make a preposition."
"I hope you don't accept. If you relinquish your title to me, I'd let you live with your pack members, but if you don't, I'd kill you slowly and kill your pack member."
A chuckle bubbles in my throat, "The audacity, let me see you try."
"I was hoping so."
He jumps at me mid air, shifting to a large brown wolf.
He immediately goes for my neck, but I trick him, making him leave his side open. In a second, I plunge my fingers to his sides and he releases a painful growl.
He kicks me hard in the belly hard, I stumble a bit.
I need to finish up the idiot, before and be done with this. His little stunt seems to have pumped up his minions.
I go for his throat and rip it right out. A howl of victory burst through my throat.
"Kill them all!!!" Aiden's loud voice resounds round the clearing.
The pack warriors attacked with so much ferocity tearing down the wolves, killing all our enemies in minutes.
Just when I let out a howl of a choking voice of alarm cuts me off.
Lenny invades my mind with a projection of the bunker, coughing.
"A…Al…Alpha, they have poisonous gas!"
