Unknown POV
"Alpha, the first rogues taken needed back up." My second in command, looks at me with furrowed eyebrows.
I give him a long look from across the table in my office.
I lifted a brown him, "It would seem the new Alpha of the Octavuis pack is living up to her name."
"That should be a thing of concern, she seems well calculated and capable."
A chuckle rumbles in my belly, "They have no idea what I have in store for them. A little surprise that will definitely create a rift in the pack."
"I'm not following, this should be a cause for alarm."
"Not for me," my face goes cold. "She is nothing but a pesky little pest, that will definitely be taken care of today."
His eyes then glaze over for a while, before staring right back at me.
"I'm unable to reach, West."
"I see."
This was a carefully drafted foolproof plan. There is no way they would not suffer significant loss.
A loud vibration pulls me from my thoughts.
I then pick my phone on the table, it's Alpha Bryan calling, I press on the answer button.
"Yes?" I ask impatiently, these ignorant fools called Alphas always keep in mind to place a call when something seems amiss.
"It's Alpha Bryan on the phone." He heaves a sigh.
"I know, what is the problem?" He growls lowly at the disrespect but continues.
"It would seem the Octavuis pack are under attack right now,"
"What? Not again." I roll my eyes, feigning concern.
"I genuinely have no idea why the rogues seem to have a special interest in that pack, this is the umpteenth attempt." He mutters thoughtfully.
"I also wonder why. What are we going to do about it?"
"The Alliance of Alphas have sent help but because of how far the Octavuis pack is from everyone, they're yet to reach them." This guy was giving me all I needed on a platter of gold.
"That is horrible. How long will it take for the back up to get there?"
"I'm not sure but soon enough,"
I'm not satisfied with his answer but what can I say, it might seem too suspicious.
"I would have sent my warriors in but you know how low I am on that because of the recent attack." My voice goes stiff.
"I understand, that's why we didn't ask. But I called to warn you, so you stay alert to prevent an element of surprise."
"Thank you for the help." I mutter.
"You're welcome." The line goes dead.
"It would seem that they don't know anything about the remaining packs attacked." My second in command says.
I stare at my second in command thoughtfully. "Try mindlinking, West, again."
"I'm pretty sure that they have done enough damage. Help will soon arrive for the Octavuis pack, they need to leave now!!!"
His eyes glaze over for a moment, but within a few seconds he's staring at me.
"Nothing, Alpha. He's not answering."
"I don't want to believe that he has been annihilated by a little girl." I say with a sadistic smile.
"That might be the case, because none of them are answering. Not even the second in command or third."
Loud peals of laughter burst out of my mouth without control. My second was staring at me as if I was crazy.
"Well played, Little Alpha. I never thought I'd see the day when I would have a worthy opponent."
"Sir, with all due respect, this is a huge loss for us. Some of our best are a part of those sent."
"They aren't our best if they were easily bested in battle like this. They even have the element of surprise in their favour."
"Also, most importantly never interrupt me again." I growled at the disrespect.
"Yes, Alpha." He said, barring his neck in submission.
"Well, I sent a surprise package to follow those incompetent fools. At least someone will do something right."
Several loud wails of pain resound from the dungeons. It would seem some of the shewolves lost their mates in battle.
I roll my eyes at her overreaction, "You see this is why I rejected mine and strangled the life out of her, moments after meeting her."
His eyes darted everywhere but me.
"Ooooops, touchy. Your mate is here right?"
"Yes, Alpha."
"Well, you're lucky you have a Gamma's daughter as a mate." My gaze turned cold.
"I ended up with an Omega. A pathetic one at that. But I took care of it and mated with a strong warrior for strong pups."
"Wasn't it hard to mate with another?"
"Not at all. Mating is for strong pups and more power, nothing else. Most definitely not love. So no, it wasn't hard at all."
He's quiet for a while, then stares back at me.
"Alpha, I have some updates for the attacks."
"Go on."
"First, the Voker pack has been completely annihilated, they're higher ups especially. Only a few remnants were brought back as prisoners."
"At least something to make me smile," a huge smile appears on my face.
"Chaos is so satisfying, what about the last pack, Dineri?"
"They put up a fight, we lost a good number. Also they seemed to have warriors from the Octavuis pack, stationed there."
A viscous growl escapes my lips. "That little girl is a bigger problem than her father ever was."
He looks at me with an expression of 'I told you so'.
"Well, tit-for-tat, she is going to regret meddling."
A loud knock on the door pulls us from our conversation.
"Come in."
Mike, a strong warrior and bodyguard steps in briefly.
"Yes?" I urged him.
"Alpha, a warrior, has been sent from the war front in the Octavuis pack."
I heave a sigh, "Let him in."
A bloody warrior is pushed in and kneels before me at the door, barring his neck in submission.
"Speak."
"West sent me to you, Alpha. Our warriors have been completely annihilated including him."
"And you are?"
"Adiel, a unit commander." The messenger replies.
I calmly stood up from my chair and walked up to him. His frame shivers slightly as I approach him.
"First you jeopardise the entire mission for a rather foolish message. You might have been followed and placed us in danger."
My venomous tone makes him shiver, with sweat forking on his forehead.
"S…sorry, Alpha."
"Second, I hate excuses, worse from someone pathetic as yourself."
"Well, thanks for the information, but you're of no use to me." I slit his throat clean, in a swipe with the silver knife I had hidden under my sleeve.
His body slumps on the ground, hands to the throat. Gurgling hard, finally his struggling ceased, eyes lifeless.
"Take care of this mess," I ordered, Mike.
I cleaned the blood off the knife with my sleeve and put it in place.
I stalk out of the office, in such a bad mood.
"Master," a stealth dark figure appears behind me.
"Hope you have good news for me, Shadow?"
"Yes Master, we do." Three more figures walk up behind him.
"Did you give the package to them?" I ask.
"Yes Master."
"Are they dead?"
"Yes Master. All who were in the bunker are dead. There's no way they can survive it."
A loud chuckle bursts out from me. "Now let's see how you'll move past this, little Alpha."
