It was a sunny day, the streets were shaded by the towering skyscrapers, a young woman was walking towards the highest one. She had a stern, determined look on her face despite her gentle features. As she entered the building, she exchanged briefly with the receptionist and moved to the elevator. The hall was spacious and well furnished, it was not crowded but still busy. Her eyes observed her surroundings with distant and meticulous attention, until they stopped at a tall man waiting for the elevator. He looked confident, his suit was tailored screaming wealth, his posture was straight, almost alert. However her eyes pierced through him, she noticed his foot tapping rapidly on the floor, his body facing directly the wall as if trying to hide his darting eyes, his torso moving too slowly as if trying to take deep breaths. People passing by seemed to be impressed by his presence, the men were admirative, almost jealous, the woman had lust in their eyes, he made heads turn, though involuntarily. The tall man tried to remain nonchalant about these stares but his facade slightly cracked and his nervousness seeped through.
In these few moments, the woman swiftly arrived in front of the elevator and called it, detaching her eyes from him. That was when he looked at her, their eyes did not meet but just by glancing at her sideways he captured her striking normalcy. Everything about her screamed mediocrity contradicting strongly with her deep piercing eyes. Her clothes were fitted but not tailored, she wore jewelry and makeup but not too much, she was of average height and weight, overall her looks were average. He observed her while she entered the elevator, catching on every detail he could while the doors closed. During a fleeting moment he met her eyes with uneasiness and looked away, he then realised he was supposed to enter the elevator as well, feeling stupid and confused he called the other. She was a mystery to him and left an impression while seemingly not wanting to be noticed by the world. Little did he knew, she had great ambitions for the world…
