Before Bingo could get closer, The four of them heard a deafening screech that blasted into their ears like a tactical assault Which followed with a rushing wind as a large purple winged creature came out its hiding spot, having seemingly heard all the commotion.
The creature had no eyes, large fangs seeked out of its mouth, the creature had a large blue tongue, The creature looked like it was put together with oozing flesh, carved together with its own bone black blood was dried on the creature's skin.
The creature has giant holes where its ear should be.
"Perhaps this may be the reason why, nobody else says they found this place, because if they did this creature would wipe them out." Tyson thought to himself as he grasped his blade ready for a fight.
"VIPER BAT!" Bingo shouted. David quickly rushing over towards the boy grabbing him holding his hand over his mouth tightly with a slither of a whisper escaping David's mouth
"They track by sound boy," with the words escaping David quickly rolled out the way already predicting the movement of the creature, and fortunately for him he was right, The Giant winged like creature with stained yellow teeth and dark red eyes crashed into the ground right where David and Bingo once were. At this point Bingo was completely freaked out and barely even moving. He was surprised that he actually got to see one of these extremely dangerous creatures up close. Tyson took in his surroundings quickly noticing a big vault door, made out of some kind of metal, He noticed multiple trees, and skeletons, they litter the ground like common trash, but he also noticed what seemed to be some kind of statue a large one at that, He probably couldn't fit behind it fully, but Moondrop definitely could.
"Seems like this statue was moved here by the weather how lucky"
Tyson thought to himself as he dashed forward grabbing a moondrop and quickly Whispering in her ear
"Prepare a large spell, I'll buy you time, aim at that metal door, I'm going to line the creature up with it"
As soon as the words escaped Tyson was already behind a statue with Moondrop who simply gave a quick nod as her eyes were wide open she was scared and shaking unlike Tyson who is completely calm in this tense situation. Tyson then Jumped upward landing on top of the statue's large head, his eyes scanning the area quickly as he picked up on another off sign that was somehow lodged into the statue, Lincoln memorial, it read.
"Lincoln individual must have been important years ago for settlers to make a statue of them" Tyson thought to himself as he still managed to remain calm
David quickly followed Tyson's lead not even eating words between the two as they have been working together for some time they were able to catch up on each other's body language and David already knew that he had to get Bingo behind the statue.
So that's exactly what he did pushing forward. He grabbed the boy with just one hand, and then bent down almost fully with his knees and leaked up into the air gaining momentum as he was able to quickly roll behind the statue next to the Moondrop.
Tyson smiled at this as he positioned himself right up to the vault door.
"I'm very lucky the ground around this place was eroded" Tyson thought to himself, I mean it was true The ground around the area was mostly destroyed through the weather which greatly exposed most of the buildings insides and what was beneath it, that being the giant vault.
"HEY UGLY COME GET SOME!" Tyson shouted has he positioned himself right between the door of the vault and the creature, of course immediately picking up on the loud sound The viper bat turned its head and made a mad dash directly at Tyson which surprisingly even with his size Tyson was easily able to dodge with no effort at all, The creature slammed it's entire body into the door causing it to scream out in pain.
"Now!" Tyson commanded from Moondrop, with the words that left his mouth the viper bat slowly turned its head but it was still dazed and couldn't react in time as a massive crackling blue energy rapidly pierced off of Moondrops hands, until it swerved into a massive explosion, That blasted open the door and completely eradicated the viper bat immediately.
"Oh no I'm sure others probably heard that.." Bingo said in a panic.
David just chuckled. "Relax kid, they don't travel in packs and they're very territorial there shouldn't be another one in a 100 mile radius."
"Oh thank the heavens," Bingo sighed.
"Good job Moon," Tyson said as he gave her a gentle head pat.
"Oh… it's nothing," Moondrop said with a slightly red face, and she was huffing and puffing and sweating in a mad panic from the amount of magic she just used she was nearly pale as she was on her knees
"Wow I wish I could do magic!" Bingo yelled.
"I'll never understand magic but hell is it cool" David said as he picked up Moondrop.
"Are you okay Moon?" Tyson asked.
"I'm fine I just used a lot of mana" Moondrop replies.
"Just rest for now" Tyson told her
"Great thinking with having her destroy the door and the creature at the same time"
David mentioned.
"Well I didn't want her to waste any mana here, and it was the best course of action"
Tyson smiled.
"Wait, she can't just spam magic? So you can't do that again?"
Bingo asked
"I can but I need to save the rest of my magic for a teleportation spell in case we get into some trouble I can't just waste my magic like that but when we do get back perhaps if we have spare time I'll show you some magic" Moondrop chuckled, as Bingo's eyes lit up with excitement.
The four of them quickly head over to the vault and climb down into it hastefully because no more creatures might have heard that but bandits definitely could have.
Entering into the vault it looked alot smaller than the party had thought, the inside is clean and seems preserved despite its age, it was white with a very modern look to it. In the center of the room sat a silver case while off to the side sat several dozen items of a bygone era, David walked over and picked it up.
"So this thing holds a relic from the past. I wonder what it might be…." David said as he held up the silver case investigating it with intrigue.
"Doesn't matter what it is, we were told to grab it and go," Tyson cuts him off.
"Fair enough" David said with a huff as bingo was playing with something that was off to the side in the vault.
"Well I don't see why we can't take one of these things for ourselves?" Bingo said as he held up what seemed to be a long piece of metal with an odd shape and some sort of trigger.
"Hey don't play with relics you don't know what that thing is!," David shouted.
"It's fine I swear," Bingo said as he messed about with the object spinning it and then pressing the trigger. As soon as he did, they all watched the object firing a metal projectile past Tyson's head and the echoing boom that came with.
"What the hell, Bingo! Stop messing with artifacts! That almost hit me!" Tyson yelled as he placed his hand on his face where it almost hit him.
"Sorry, I didn't know it would do that," Bingo said as he dropped the gun.
"You just gave me a headache" David said as he covered his ears.
"It's fine…but we'll look at these, they are like scrolls, with well… men on them, and wel-" moon drop went to say as Tyson interrupted "no leave whatever that is in here" Tyson said as he passed a wall seeing an odd painting of a man in what seems to be formal clothes and white hair he seems to be on horseback.
"George Washington…." Tyson said as he read the name on the painting.
"Funny looking guy who do you think he was," David said.
