"Nope, can't let him drink it like this."
Alex was sweating just from thinking about how Robert might get disintegrated because of him, while helping him toward a 'brighter' future.
Closing his eyes, he fell into thoughts of what kind of 'compatible' medium he should use.
"RIGHT!" With a mischiefs gleam in his eyes, he extented his free arms. A red light flashed, and a small bottle appeared. Inside, a suspicious red liquid could be seen that screamed anything but good.
[ Item – Hellpepper Infusion
Grade: ???
A ridiculously spicy and fiery medium crafted to blend with any Elixir. The effects vary wildly depending on the ratio used—ranging from miraculous enhancements to chaotic side-effects. Handle with caution.
- Made in Aurze.]
"Exactly like I imagined."
It should be noted that his talent is very flexible, because when he imagined something that would awaken a strong talent for light, he didn't specify the details. But this time, he imagined more than just a medium—Alex also imagined its functions.
Maybe it was because of this more detailed imagination that it couldn't be graded. Everything that is made has a level in the system, but what Alex imagined defined this notion.
Or it could be, something like this was never made or supposed to be made.
Tap… Tap… Tap…
Suddenly, the sound of shoes tapping against the tile rang out—lightly.
Alex looked at the door and saw Robert coming. He quickly hid the two bottles behind his back.
Robert was holding his stomach, he came too soon for the ceremony because of his excitement. Looking at his watch showing 7:13 AM, he decided to eat his breakfast in canteen.
But his steps halted when he saw Alex with a wide smile. Suspicion crept over him—Alex Grey wasn't someone who smiled easily, unless he was hiding something or, worse, planning to pull a prank.
"What are you doing?" Robert asked, while looking around for any suspicious thing.
"Hahah nothing just here to eat." Alex replied.
"Eat? So soon? Don't you sleep till 8'o clock?" Robert was now 100% sure, that he was up to something.
Alex's mouth twisted—why was he saying it as if it were a big deal? Sure, he couldn't remember the last time he woke up early, but that didn't mean he couldn't get up early.
"Leave me, I live here. What about you? Don't tell me you were so nervous that you couldn't shit today and had to come early, since you usually spend hours shitting, after all," Alex taunted.
Listening to Alex provocating words Robert didn't show much reaction. Why would he? He was too familiar with him. What he said can't even be compared to his usual talk.
"Really ~sigh~ I prefer to talk to Kael more than you. Why don't you just go to your dormitory and sleep?" Robert said, he was already feeling tried just thinking about dealing with him alone.
Kael Sunstride, his eternal rival, was much more pleasant to talk to than him.
'Huh?' Alex blinked in confusion. Weren't they rivals? Every time they talked, it turned into a fight—yet he still preferred talking to Karel over him.
'Karl really is loved by everyone.' Alex felt little sad, that no one likes to talk to him. 'Still, as expected of my son.'
But he can't let this guy go by easily after making him sad, even if little.
"I can't go to sleep without your mother." This is real Alex Grey, totally unfiltered.
Robert's mouth twisted violently, his veins popped as he tightly curled his fist. But controlling himself, he took a long breath and turned around.
Walking toward the counter, he picked up a plate and a glass of water. There was no one at the counter—and no need for anyone. Placing his plate down, he tapped at the monitor in front of him, choosing what he wanted to eat.
After deciding what he wanted to eat after a brief hesitation, he tapped the OK button. A humanoid male robort came with his food instantly and placed it on his plate professionally. He was wearing chefs hat and attire and looking excatly like a human.
If not for the glowing blue, diamond-shaped thing on his head, any normal human might have mistaken it for real
"Here's your meal, sir."
In Aurze, technology was highly developed especially after discovering how to seamlessly integrated it with mana.
Robert looked at his meal—a giant hamburger, and not the typical kind. It was a super-limited item on the school menu, consisting of a filling of Ignivara meat, placed inside a bun made from mana-infused materials.
In school it's believed, that eating this special hamburger will help a person in awakening talent, realated to fire. Though it's also directly means its expensive like hell all thanks to those rumors.
"It will be 1,000 Sols, sir." The male robort give a bright human like smile. Though to Robert it was the most cunning and devilish smile.
Sols were the digital currency used by the people of Aurze. Ten Sols were equal to one low-grade mana stone, meaning this simple meal—with no more than five low-grade mana stones' worth of ingredients—was actually sold for one hundred low-grade mana stones.
Still resisting his urge to scream at the absurdity, he waved his right hand at the counter.
"Your money has been safely transferred, sir. Please have a nice meal." The robot gave him a bow before heading back to the kitchen.
At the back, Alex awkwardly stood. He watched the whole show off of Robert.....right show off because who in right mind would ever pay 1000 Sols for just a 50 Sols hamburger.
Sure, there's that rumor going around, and Ignivara is a popular bird known for its fire element, but seriously—if talent could be awakened like that, then 85% of people would have talent, not just 20%.
This was clearly planed rumor, spread by the canteen tender to earn extra money.
Alex looked at Robert coming, with contempt eyes.
"What's with that look?" Robert said with irritation, he knows that this was scam planned by the canteen tender but the allure of awakening talent was more than enough to spent his 5 month savings.
"Tch, it's good I am not your real father ~sigh~ I feel sad for him." Alex gave a dramatic sigh, while speaking.
"Y-You… sigh …anyways, where did you get those contact lenses from? They look cool." Robert felt his tolerance slipping every time Alex spoke. But after three years of knowing him, he knew better—so he switched the topic to his 'contact lenses,' which, to tell the truth, Robert found super badass.
