Alice Cullen POV
Soon after Edward left, Carlisle arrived home driving the Volvo. As he walked in he stated, " we need to have a family meeting". The five of us left, settled around the table and began to discuss Edward's exodus to Alaska. I received a vision mid discussion, just as Rosalie was voicing her desire to just kill Isabella Swan to reduce risks. All at the table paused. After a few seconds I said, "Edward will be back in a week, don't worry everything will be fine". I looked over at Esme who'd been stressed and worried since hearing Edward had left. Esme had visibly relaxed upon hearing the news.
After everyone besides Rosalie relaxed upon hearing the news of Edwards return. Carlisle looked at me and asked, "So what about your encounter?". "Carlisle, I wouldn't really call it an encounter. I didn't meet him" I stated. I then began to explain my inexplicable connection towards Brax and the moment I saw his eyes glow. This left the table stunned all except Esme and Carlisle. For his part Carlisle looked intrigued, while Esme looked happy. Esme said, " Alice, it sounds like you found your mate", confirming what I had begun to suspect. Carlisle wondered aloud, " I wonder if this has a relation to an ability, or if he is not completely human". Rosalie broke into the discussion saying, "but he is clearly a human, despite what happened to Edward when he tried to read him". This brought another round of discussion. I was distracted and forgot to mention that to Carlisle. The family meeting soon ended with Carlisle looking towards me and saying, "Alice I trust you, do what you will".
Later that evening, after some contemplating I decided I would attempt to meet this Brax Swan. I couldn't help but be happy after realizing he was likely my mate. After Jasper left following the deluded relationship we had, I hadn't seen any visions of my future mate. This surprise was something I had wanted for years. The possibility of finally having a companion thrilled me.
Brax Swan POV
After arriving home I turned on the TV and sat down on the couch waiting for my dad to come home after his shift, while Bella began dinner. Soon dad came home and we had dinner. After which my father and I began the dishes and Bella headed upstairs. As I washed and he dried I said, "hey dad, I'm thinking about graduating early to jumpstart my plan with the garage or to explore a bit before settling down here". My dad, who was extremely happy knowing my plan of staying in Forks, asked " why so fast?". "Well, I realized I have already met all the requirements to graduate and I don't see spending more time in school as productive", I stated. My dad paused for a second as he thought and said, "well you have always been driven and your ideas have not failed you yet", "so I see no reason for you to not do what you want. If you can graduate early and follow the path you have chosen, I see no reason to stop you" he voiced. "I appreciate your prospective dad, I'll start working on the paperwork tomorrow after speaking with the administration" I said.
The rest of the night passed slowly as I went to my room and hopped on my computer looking through places I could buy or build a garage in Forks, while listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. After gaining some ideas I finally decided to hit the hay, as I wanted to be early to school tomorrow to get to the administration office in time to discuss early graduation.
