Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Future

My thoughts were jumbled as I walked out to my car, I couldn't get my mind off of the girl with the pixie cut. It felt like I should know her or at least I wanted to know her. I finally reached my S13 and got into the car and sat in the driver's side leather seat. I decided I needed to clear my thoughts, I had important things to think about. While looking at my schedule earlier I had realized, I had already taken all the classes assigned to me already while in Phoenix. I knew I was ahead when moving here but it seems I don't necessarily need the semester and could graduate early. I already decided I didn't want to go to college. I've been saving money since the 7th grade when I began picking up under the table jobs, until I could legally work. That's part of the reason I wanted to move to Forks, I'd never really had any friends in Phoenix because I worked after school and weekends. I only took off during the summer to come see my dad. I've saved just shy of $150,000 and I planned on opening a small garage in Forks. I know the town is small, but a garage charging reasonable prices is rare in a small town plus I like the area. At the moment I decided I'd ask my dad for advice about potentially graduating a semester early to start my garage faster or maybe take some time to explore the world a bit before settling down in Forks.

I looked at the clock on my dashboard realizing I had only a couple of minutes before classes started. I headed back into the school and onto my next class. The rest of the school day slowly passed, my thoughts revolving around the girl I'd seen in the cafeteria and potentially graduating early. As the final bell rang I walked back out towards the parking lot after dropping my schedule back in the administration office. I saw Bella on the way. She had a disturbed expression on her face. I tapped her shoulder and she gave a little start before realizing it was me. "Don't do that Brax", she said. "You ok?, you seem upset", voicing my concern. Bella, "yeah I'm fine, it's nothing". Me, "ok I'll see you at home then". I continued out to my car. I hopped into the S13 and pulled into the line to leave the parking lot. I noticed a silver Volvo in the rear view mirror, the driver was the kid my sister was staring at during lunch. Beside him sat the girl from the lunch room. She glanced up from and met my eyes and smiled, it felt like my heart stopped for a second. Then the Volvo let out a short beep, pulling me away from her gaze. I noticed the car in front of me had left the parking lot, I was now holding up the line. I pulled out and gassed the car on my way home lost in my thoughts again.

Alice Cullen POV

I hadn't seen him all day, I guessed since he was Bella's older brother he was a grade above her. I was sad I wouldn't have him in any of my classes. Then in the afternoon I saw him in the parking lot sliding into a very sleek silver Nissan coupe. For some reason the car seemed to fit him, almost describing his personality. "Wow, I didn't expect anyone in Forks to be into JDM let alone restore and kit out an '88 Silvia", voiced Rosalie. Edward pulled the Volvo behind him as we worked our way out of the parking lot. Then it happened, I was looking at his rearview trying to get a glimpse of his face again. He looked into the rear view glancing at Edward, his gaze finally landed on me. We met eyes, his eyes sharpened and they glowed for a second, but I caught it. Then Edward beeped the Volvo and I noticed he hadn't moved his car despite being at the front of the line. The boy pulled out and raced away. "Did you see that', I voiced. "See what", Emmet said. "His eyes glowed for a second", I stated. No one responded. At that moment, I saw a vision of Edward leaving. "Oh, so that's why you're brooding Edward", I said. "What is his name Edward? I know you know it", I asked, distracting him from his brooding for a second. "His name is Brax", stated Edward. The ride home continued in silence until I began giving Edward advice on how to leave as fast as possible for his destination of Alaska. I'd seen the optimal way in my visions to reduce his temptation.
