Rocket's beam tore through the enemy formation, the shockwave of the explosion sending the front-row Kree soldiers flying to the ground, dust and fire light intertwining into chaos. Quill seized the opportunity to leap out from behind cover, firing his dual guns alternately, while not forgetting to mutter, "I'm telling you, never underestimate a guy with a music playlist!"
Gamora calmly surveyed the battlefield, her twin blades dancing in her hands, leaving a sharp trajectory. She flipped over a soldier attempting a sneak attack, cleanly severing the opponent's weapon with a single strike, then pointed the tip of her blade at their throat, asking coldly, "Who else wants to try?"
Groot extended countless branches, tightly binding a group of soldiers attempting to flank them, then violently flung them against the wall. The sound of Impact was deafening, but he still repeated in a calm tone, "I am Groot."
"Yes, you are Groot." Rocket laughed heartily from Groot's shoulder, his weapon continuously spitting fire. "If it weren't for you, I would have been a blue-faced popsicle by now."
Drax roared, sweeping his twin blades horizontally to send an enemy flying. Blood splattered on his face, but he didn't care, turning his head to roar in the direction of Ronan, "Ronan! Get out here and face your doom!"
"I doubt he can hear you," Quill quipped while firing. "Or rather, he's pretending not to."
"He can't hide for long!" Drax was furious, directly throwing away one blade and grabbing a Kree soldier by the neck with his bare hands, lifting them high, then slamming them heavily onto the ground. The vibration caused the surrounding soldiers to involuntarily take a step back.
"Can you guys leave some enemies for me?" Quill complained, feigning dissatisfaction. "I'm the protagonist of the team, how can there be no one for me to show my bravery?"
"Your bravery is wasting ammunition," Gamora retorted unceremoniously, while performing a forward roll to dodge the aftermath of an explosion, calmly taking down another enemy.
"Ammunition is meant to be wasted," Quill waved his hand. "Otherwise, how can I be worthy of the money I worked so hard to earn?"
Rocket's gaze swept across the battlefield, and suddenly a sly smile appeared on his face. "How about we try my new toy?" He pulled a strangely shaped device from his backpack, fiddled with it quickly, then threw it towards the dense cluster of enemies.
The device unfolded in the air, releasing a powerful electromagnetic pulse that instantly paralyzed all enemy weapons. The Kree soldiers frantically checked their weapons, but it was all in vain.
"This is a surprise package," Rocket explained smugly. "Specifically for dealing with these high-tech guys."
"They don't have weapons in their hands, which makes me a little unaccustomed," Quill shrugged, aiming at a soldier rushing towards him with bare hands. "But I can still handle it."
As soon as the soldier rushed in front of him, they were hit in the chest by a precise energy blast and fell straight down.
Groot continued to swing his branches, like a moving wall, pushing more enemies into a corner. His branches grew rapidly, weaving into a dense net that tightly trapped the remaining enemies. Rocket jumped down from Groot's shoulder and patted his partner's bark, "Good job, buddy!"
"I am Groot," Groot replied calmly, but a hint of satisfaction seemed to flash in his eyes.
Quill walked up to the trapped enemies and pointed his gun at his mask. "You blue-faced monsters, now you know the consequences of messing with me, Star-Lord, right? Remember this name, it will keep you up at night."
"They might not understand who you are," Gamora reminded coldly, crossing her twin blades over her chest. "Don't forget, we have more important things to do."
Just as they were about to catch their breath, a low rumbling sound came from the distance. Kree reinforcements were gathering, slowly approaching with heavier equipment.
"Again? Do these guys have no brains?" Rocket cursed while reloading his weapon.
"They are Kree," Gamora said calmly. "Discipline and obedience are their only creed."
"I think we need a bigger surprise package," Quill said with a wry smile, looking at the tanks gradually approaching in the distance.
Rocket suddenly jumped onto Groot's shoulder, rummaging through his backpack for a bigger weapon, muttering non-stop, "These guys are bringing tanks? Who brings tanks to a place like this? Come on, this is a fight, not a traffic jam!"
Groot extended his branches to block several energy cannon shells fired from a distance, the wooden barrier shattering into countless fragments, but he calmly regrew new shields, firmly protecting the team behind him.
"They don't seem to plan on saving ammunition," Gamora wiped the dust from her face, her gaze like a knife staring at the tanks in the distance. She tightened her grip on her twin blades and said in a deep voice, "We can't keep hiding. Their reinforcements will be endless."
Quill shrugged and patted his dual energy guns. "Then let's give them a surprise. Rocket, found anything good?"
Rocket held up a weapon taller than himself and smiled wickedly. "Of course, I'm always prepared. This is the 'Heavy Hitter Type Three,' capable of directly blowing up those tanks and giving them an 'unexpected spark show' while we're at it."
"The name sounds very professional," Quill nodded, feigning seriousness. "Then let the 'show' begin."
Rocket smugly shouldered the "Heavy Hitter Type Three," aimed at the most densely populated area of tanks, and pulled the trigger. With a deafening roar, a dazzling blue-white energy wave rapidly swept across the battlefield, creating a devastating explosion within the enemy formation.
The tanks were flipped over, thrown high into the air, then crashed to the ground with a satisfying burst. The surrounding Kree soldiers were scattered in disarray, the scene chaotic.
"You really are the Spokesperson of violent aesthetics," Quill whistled and gave Rocket a thumbs-up. "Their Commander must have a terrible headache right now."
"Too bad I only brought one," Rocket touched his backpack with some regret. "Otherwise, this battle would have been over long ago."
"Then we'll just have to settle it the traditional way," Gamora said coldly, brandishing her twin blades. "Move quickly, their defense line has been disrupted. We can't waste this opportunity."
Drax was currently tearing open a Kree soldier's armor with his bare hands, lifting the opponent high and then slamming them heavily onto the ground. He turned his head to look at Quill, his eyes shining brightly. "I can charge over and pull their leader out of the tank."
"Your strategy is simple and brutal," Quill shook his head. "But... I like it."
Drax no longer waited, roaring as he charged towards the enemy, like an unstoppable fighting machine. His roar echoed across the battlefield, attracting the attention of most of the enemies.
"He's going to get himself killed," Gamora frowned slightly, but there wasn't much worry in her tone.
"That's his charm," Quill shrugged, then pointed his gun at several soldiers attempting to surround Drax. "But we can't let him steal all the spotlight."
Quill and Gamora fought side by side, while Rocket continued to create chaos under Groot's cover. Groot completely blocked the barrel of a tank with his branches, and as a result, that tank exploded into a fireball in the next second due to its own energy backlash.
"I am Groot," he said calmly, looking at Rocket.
"Yeah, you're a genius," Rocket rolled his eyes, but a smile played on his lips. "If we get out of here alive, I'll buy you a barrel of the best motor oil."
In the distance, Drax had already charged up to the last tank, wildly attacking the armor with his twin blades. The soldiers inside fought back desperately, but they were completely unable to stop his brute force. He finally tore open the tank's hatch, dragged out the driver, and threw them aside like a rag doll.
"Weaklings!" Drax, covered in blood, shouted from atop the tank's wreckage.
"He's quite the performer," Quill looked up and quipped. "But I have to admit, his performance is effective."
The stalemate of the battle gradually shifted towards the Guardians of the Galaxy. The number of Kree soldiers rapidly decreased under the coordination of Rocket and Groot, and Quill and Gamora's precise attacks left the remaining enemies struggling to cope.
"We're almost done!" Rocket shouted, raising his weapon. "Hang in there, guys, we're about to make a fortune on this deal!
