The moon looked shinnier than your dreams and hopes, and round, like, round as fuck, either a full moon or a really round gibbious, the sky was clear(maybe a bit too clear even!), You were pretty sure that the view outside your shitty apartment didn't look like a default microsoft wallpaper, and the air was even clearer than the sky
You didn't pay enough for this shit(which might sound insane, considering you already paid way too much for an appartment that didn't even come with a decent shower), since when was the air in fucking New York this clean? Breathing almost seemed like a crime, like you had just accidentally robbed a bank and now you didn't know how to deal with the consequences as you waited for trial and the judge looked at you over their glasses just so, like your mom used to do, the stare that made you feel like a disappointment.. well, either that or passing out on the street and having someone call an ambulance on you, and before you know, you are waking up with debt.
Well in anycase in the back of your mind, you were pretty sure the air was only supposed to be this good in.. like.. Sweden or something, or Norway, or some other rich people country
Not your eagle enthusiastic, beer chugging and gun loving nation
Suffice it to say, you were not home
Then again, if you were a bit just a bit smarter that realisation might have come early, you know, since you woke up on a beach and not in your bed
Oh you silly you
You must've sleep walked again- not, hah, did you actually fall for that? That's not in your character backstory
"...the heck..?" You mumbled to yourself, which, I would normally judge you for being so cliche, but valid
Running a hand through your hair, you stumbled up, your head snapping this way and that as if it would suddenly change your surroundings if you looked around enough, you even pinched your cheeks a few times, as if hoping to wake up from a dream, which- by the way, never works, you can feel pain even in dreams you know?
But I digress, it would be a bit mean of me to judge you at your lowest
waking up without any identification or money or most importantly your phone, having no idea where you are at all, the nice view didn't make up for it at all!
the beach was one full of rocks and stone rather than soft sand, or maybe it was just this particular part of the beach, you ran your trembling hands over the rocks and picked out a few of the sharper ones before wobbling up on your feet
Taking a few deep breaths and looking around for any sign or a threat, maybe the person who had brought you here, maybe something worse
But there was nothing but lingering quite, you can see foliage of what seemed liked the start of a forest peeking out at a distance, but you weren't sure if you wanted to take your chances to explore that
For now you decided to take left and follow the path of the shore, it was better than just staying here and waiting for your kidnapper.. or kidnappers to come back, and besides, when in doubt.. take.. left?
