Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Portal

Dai'chi gets up from his bed the next day. He heads down to the main room and sees Jesse waiting for him. "Yo, I need your help with something. Come with me," Jesse says. Dai'chi walks up to Jesse, confused.

"Why should I help you, though? It's not like I'll help you just because you said so. Also, what do you need help with anyway?" Dai'chi says. Jesse sighs and then looks at Dai'chi.

"Basically, the time star was used to reset the timeline, but it didn't go as planned, and now there are two timelines. We're going to make a portal between the two timelines so that the two don't destroy each other," Jesse says. They both walk out of the base. Jesse goes down the stairs and then jumps over the final step.

"That does sound like a pretty bad problem, but what makes you think I would even know how to do that or be able to," Dai'chi says. He walks down the stairs, but as he steps onto the final step, his foot sinks through it. Jesse pulls out a frying pan from a portal. "Fine, I'll help you, just show me how to do it and I will," Dai'chi says nervously. Jesse lifts the frying pan and readies himself to hit Dai'chi. "WHY CAN'T I D-," Dai'chi says right before Jesse knocks him out.

Jesse absorbs some of the mana from Dai'chi. He teleports away into an unknown forest. He walks forward a bit until he comes across I giant magic circle on the ground. He puts his hand on the circle. He starts to glow as he starts pouring the mana into the magic circle. Three more magic circles appear in the center of the large one. In the middle of those 3 magic circles, a crack forms. The crack continues to grow until it turns into a portal and then stabilizes. "I just realized, how the hell did I remember how to make this?" Jesse says. Aevum walks out of the forest.

"Did you finish connecting the timelines yet?" Aevum says. Jesse points over at the portal that is in the center. Aevum walks over to it and sticks his hand out. His cloak starts to wave around a lot as he starts to glow. He puts his hand down as he stops glowing, and his cloak stops shaking. "It looks like the portal is quite stable; it should last for quite a while. At least until we come up with an actual solution to deal with the two timelines. I'm going to get going now, since this is finished," Aevum says. He teleports away right after he finishes speaking.

Jesse teleports back over to where Dai'chi is. Dai'chi starts to wake back up from being knocked out. The false stair moves away from where it was, allowing Dai'chi no move. Dai'chi stands up and rubs the side of his head where Jesse hit him. "What the hell was that for. That hurt, damn it," Dai'chi says, annoyed.

"I just needed to take a bit of your mana to do something. I don't need your help with anything else right now, so you can leave if you want," Jesse says to Dai'chi. Dai'chi clicks his tongue at Jesse and teleports away.

Later, in an unknown location, Jesse is sitting in a chair looking out a window. "What the hell is the sealing spell I put on my memories. I already remembered all the info about the curses that were placed on me. I also remembered the restrictions and the sealing spell that was placed on me long ago. But that doesn't explain where this spell on my memories came from," Jesse says. He spins around on his chair and walks over to a door. He walks out into a high-tech lab area. Lily is lying down on a couch.

"I don't know why you might have sealed your memories, but one thing is clear. A reset happened other than the one that split the timeline," Lily says. She looks over at Jesse, but doesn't move from where she is lying down. Jesse paces back and forth through the laboratory.

"I agree, but the thing that is most confusing is that nobody remembers. That means that none of the other Crusaders were present when the reset took place. I was the only one there. The most likely reason for that is that none of them were alive to be present. The question is, how did they all die? I doubt it was the Crimson king since he has been completely quiet during this reset so far," Jesse says.

"The bigger problem now is that the time star is gone. You won't be able to hide forever that it was used for the final time. It was easily the strongest item that the Crusaders had," she says. She curls up into a ball on the couch. She falls asleep, her breathing slowing. Jesse covers her with a blanket and walks away.

"Yeah," Jesse says. He walks back into the first room that he was in. He sits back down in the chair and looks up at the window. He starts speaking to himself again, "Just what do I have planned?" he says. He looks out the window as a giant red moon glows through the window at him.
