This was the shelter. Many people were hiding here, and although the adults didn't stop the children from playing around earlier, now that a fight had broken out, someone naturally stepped in to pull them apart.
"Hayate, what are you doing? A big kid bullying a little one, don't you feel ashamed?" Moonlight Hayate's mother rushed over, pulling him back while checking his shoulder.
"He kissed Yugao!" Hayate shouted angrily.
"It was Yugao who kissed Shigeo, alright? Enough, stop making a scene!" Hayate's mother said coldly, dragging him back into the crowd.
The other kids all looked at Hyūga Shigeo in surprise. Even though they didn't see him often, they had never realized his taijutsu was this strong.
On the side, Uchiha Itachi, holding baby Sasuke in his arms, looked on with deepening eyes. He seemed… different from what he had imagined.
The reason Uchiha Itachi knew Shigeo could see at night was because, by coincidence, he once saw him throwing away the food distributed by the village, and then cooking for himself at home.
After watching him for two days, he discovered that this boy, the same age as himself, was actually able to see at night, though by day he appeared blind. Not only that—he often trained in taijutsu alone in secret!
Though he looked delicate and weak on the surface, in training his movements were quick, and his strikes ruthless.
This was also why the Mirror System's Mirror Protection could manifest such great effect—it was directly connected to his two years of continuous physical training.
And because of seeing Shigeo's private training, recently, even Uchiha Itachi had started his own self-training at home.
They were the same age—he couldn't afford to fall behind!
After the brief scuffle, Uzuki Yugao pulled Hyūga Shigeo aside, while the other children were taken away by their parents. The storm passed just like that.
Outside the shelter, the sound of explosions had lessened, but everyone remained on edge.
After a while, things grew quiet. Soon someone entered to announce that it was safe outside, and people could leave the shelter in an orderly manner.
It was only afterward that everyone learned the extent of the disaster: during the Nine-Tails' attack, many shinobi of the village had been killed. Among them, the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, and his wife Uzumaki Kushina had perished as well. The Nine-Tails, however, had been successfully sealed away…
As for who it had been sealed inside? Rumors abounded. This kind of secret was known only to the village's top officials, though ordinary citizens could more or less guess the truth. Still, no one would dare to speak it openly.
Hyūga Shigeo was escorted home by Uzuki Yugao. After warning him to be careful, she left—she too had to return to check on her own family.
His home was on the outskirts of the Hyūga clan's territory, near the village's edge. It was quiet there.
Now finally alone, all the knowledge of Namikaze Minato's ninjutsu and training methods surged through his mind like a torrent of energy desperate for release.
Unfortunately, Hyūga Shigeo still didn't have chakra. Otherwise, paired with this knowledge, he could already begin training ninjutsu.
It was clear—what he needed most right now was chakra!
As long as he gained chakra, everything else would follow.
With that thought, he dared not waste a moment. He found Namikaze Minato's basic method of chakra extraction—and began training!
