For a moment, the old toad almost wanted to take the child back to Mount Myōboku. But the next second, it realized—the child's eyes couldn't see. He was blind…
That alone made it dismiss the idea. For the boy's safety, it issued its warning and left.
Hyūga Shigeo just curled his lips, unconcerned. This time, however, he didn't attempt to experiment with natural energy again. Instead, he began diligently training his physical energy.
By noon, he could already extract chakra.
That rush of excitement made him jump for joy. He wanted nothing more than to immediately try the jutsu of the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato.
Closing his eyes, he stood in the courtyard, feeling the wind. The rustle of leaves whispered in his ears. One step forward—and in an instant, his body appeared atop a tree.
Another shift—he was already back inside his room. His speed was lightning-fast, as if he were born knowing this Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique).
Next came the Rasengan (Spiraling Sphere). He extended his hand, and without needing much training, Minato's knowledge unfolded in his mind as if it were innate. The moment he grasped the hand seals and chakra flow, he could execute it.
A small Rasengan spun in his palm. He looked down at its swirling energy and softly muttered:
"Could it be… my chakra nature is wind?"
The Rasengan continued to whirl. Because he had only just begun refining chakra, his reserves weren't large. He instinctively began drawing in the natural chakra around him, feeding it into the spinning sphere.
Before his eyes, the technique shifted—transforming into a Rasenshuriken (Spiraling Shuriken). Not only that, but its size and power dwarfed the simple Rasengan he had formed just moments ago.
Others would find chakra training exhausting, yet to him it felt effortless. He didn't realize that faint, seven-colored light had begun shimmering across his closed eyelids.
His long black hair fell around him as the glow spread—he exuded an almost divine aura.
If Minato had learned Sennin Mōdo (Sage Mode) from the toads of Mount Myōboku, then Hyūga Shigeo's version was something altogether different—self-taught, yet far more profound.
The Sennin Mōdo markings he bore didn't belong to any of the three great Sage Lands. Instead, his transformation seemed drawn from the entirety of nature itself, radiating with seven-colored brilliance.
At that very moment, an old toad perched on his wall, jaw agape in shock.
"What kind of training is this? This morning he couldn't even refine chakra, and now—by midday—he's manifested Sage markings and awakened some strange new form of Sage Arts? This… this is impossible!"
The toad was none other than Fukasaku, who had just attended the Fourth Hokage's funeral. On his way back to Mount Myōboku, he decided on a whim to check on the strange child he had warned earlier.
What he saw left him utterly stunned. A sight unheard of in history—something so unprecedented it made even a Sage elder doubt his eyes.
While Fukasaku struggled to comprehend, Hyūga Shigeo heard the faint sound of movement. With a swift motion, a Rasenshuriken flew straight toward the intruder.
"Guah! Aren't you going too far? Trying to kill a toad?!"
