Chapter 33 - Visiting the Adventurer's Guild

E-Rantel.

"Fei Fei, is this the Magic Caster you mentioned?"

Inside the room, a strong, middle-aged man who looked very imposing was the first to stand up.

Ainz nodded, slightly turning his body, "Ilay, a Fourth Tier Mage."

Sounds of astonishment came from the people in the room.

If mastering Third Tier magic was considered a master, then Fourth Tier was more like a legendary figure.

A thin man in a long robe excitedly stood up, "I am Theo Lakshir, the Guild Master of the Mage's Guild."

"I am Ilay, pleased to meet you."

A voice as pleasant as a spring breeze came from behind the thick mask.

The newcomer was wearing a silver-white robe with intricate golden patterns, a well-tailored soft scale armor, and boots inlaid with a greenish-gold metal piece.

The mask was simple, with only some decorative patterns and a single squinted eye, which seemed to be smiling.

Magic Casters generally behave eccentrically; Lakshir himself had a neurotic demeanor, and it was said that the Mage from Blue Rose also wore a mask, so this attire did not arouse suspicion.

However, it only made people more curious about what was beneath the mask.

The man who first came forward said helplessly, "Let me introduce myself first. I am Burdon Einzack, the Guild Master of the Adventurer's Guild."

Then three fully armed individuals introduced themselves in turn; they were representatives of a Mithril-ranked team, and the obese man sitting in the middle was the Mayor of E-Rantel.

After taking their seats, Igfargi, the representative of the Kralgora Adventurer's Team, showed clear dissatisfaction.

Two outsiders invading their territory and receiving respect from others made him very displeased.

Despite this, he did not want to offend a Fourth Tier Mage, and he knew Fei Fei was stronger than him, but he just couldn't swallow his pride.

He immediately asked, "Did Fei Fei perform any great feats to be promoted to Mithril-rank?"

Einzack replied cheerfully, "I wonder if subduing the Forest Wise King and dealing with the Undead army counts."

"Oh, that matter!"

Those who knew exclaimed in surprise.

Ainz modestly said, "It's nothing, I just accepted the request from young brother Barerare."

"You are so humble, it truly makes one feel ashamed."

Lakshir looked at Fei Fei with admiration. He even thought that after such an accomplishment, awarding him Orichalcum-rank would be undisputed.

It seemed the Magic Guild Master's enthusiasm for him was also related to Fei Fei; this was truly loving the house and its crow.

Sig looked at the nearly enraged Igfargi and remembered that unlucky fellow who insisted on following Fei Fei, which led to his entire team's demise.

Honestly, these people's names were so hard to pronounce, especially that unlucky guy's. Listening to them argue was a headache.

He spoke, "Can we discuss the matter of the Dragon Lord's resurrection now?"

"Yes, that is the most important matter now, and Ilay is here for that very purpose."

The Mayor played peacemaker; he didn't want to displease this great Mage. What if he just abandoned them?

Einzack nodded. Now might be the survival moment for E-Rantel, and they couldn't argue over trivial matters.

"Are there no more questions now? Let's begin the formal agenda."

"However, both of you are covering your faces. Doesn't that seem a bit inappropriate?" the unlucky fellow spoke again.

Ainz took off his helmet, revealing a false face created by magic, "Because I am a foreigner, I specifically cover it."

When it was Sig's turn, he coldly said, "I was cursed by a Demon Dragon and am disfigured, which is why I wear a mask. Are you sure you want to see it?"

"I am very sorry, it was my mistake." Einzack lowered his posture considerably, and after apologizing, he looked at Igfargi with an angry gaze.

The other party also lowered his head and apologized, and the matter was considered closed.

Sig wasn't actually angry. If they really wanted to see, he would show them. He wondered if using a confusion and fear spell would leave them traumatized.

"I have been tracking the Demon Dragon. A few days ago, I found its traces near the outskirts of E-Rantel, but it quickly disappeared again. If I'm not mistaken, what is currently entrenched there is its subordinate, Slite… yes, Slite."

At the end, Sig casually made up a name, and it was quite catchy.

"Just a subordinate?"

Everyone felt a chill down their spines. How strong must the true Demon Dragon be!

It was known that merely on the outskirts, nearly half of the Iron-ranked Adventurer teams had been killed or injured.

They couldn't help but feel respect for this human who dared to contend with a Demon Dragon.

"Ilay, you must have a way to deal with this Slite, right?" The Mayor couldn't help but ask, his address changing directly from "mister" to "lord."

"Actually, I am more of a messenger. In three days, Slite will begin slaughtering the city."

Sig's cold voice was like a heavy hammer, stunning everyone.

Lakshir asked eagerly, "Aren't you going to stop him?"

"My main target is the Demon Dragon, but I won't just watch Slite commit evil. My power alone is not enough. Why don't you ask Fei Fei?"

That's right, why not ask Fei Fei.

Ainz saw the ball kicked back to him and took out a pre-prepared magic-sealing crystal, "This seals an Eighth Tier magic…"

After the meeting, Sig couldn't help but stretch. He felt a bit tired. Fortunately, the unlucky fellow didn't cause any more trouble.

However, this time he was smarter and didn't insist on following. Would he give the people around him a luck attribute bonus?

Ainz laughed from the side, "Clementine is waiting for us at the Adventurer's Guild. Let's take this opportunity to meet some new friends. It just so happens that Enfeilia is also going to Karn Village."

A blond boy with no eyes, and the scene of him wearing thin gauze with his butt exposed, flashed in Sig's mind. That really left a deep impression on him.

"That alchemist you mentioned? The ability to use all items is indeed troublesome."

"But I value his alchemist abilities more; from all aspects, they are very valuable."

Ainz pointed to the Adventurer's Guild sign, "We've arrived."

"Is this Mr. Ilay? He seems very young."

"I am Ilay, pleased to meet everyone."

After hearing his voice, they became even more confused. He really felt too young, even though he was said to be a companion who adventured with him when he was young.

Fei Fei was a middle-aged man; Ilay couldn't possibly be only in his twenties.

Sig said with a smile, "I am the same age as Fei Fei. I only used magic to preserve my voice. As for my face, it was disfigured by a curse, so I won't show it to you."

"Mr. Ilay is also a Magic Caster. Would you like to teach our 'Warlock'?" The blond, blue-eyed young man said with a smile.

"Captain, please stop mentioning that embarrassing title, and Mr. Ilay will feel troubled."

The speaker was a brown-haired, blue-eyed youth who looked very young and handsome, with a kind of neutral beauty.

Ainz teased, "Ilay is Fourth Tier, you know."

"Fourth Tier!"

There's no need to be so surprised, Ainz thought.

Sig helplessly rubbed his forehead. He had said it would be better to set it to Third Tier; this was too attention-grabbing.
