This feels strange, even to the one who delivered the message and the one who isn't a part of this family. Pierre has never been to Earth before, and the culture shock he has experienced so far is outstanding. This planet is way different from his, but of course it would be, obviously.
As for Alex, he might have been the one who was sent by King Conrad to bring Elena back home, but he still feels weird about this. They all thought that Elena would become powerful in her twenties; they were not expecting her to manifest her powers at sixteen, which is still so young.
Elena leaving this house is something that has been known would happen for years, but now she's leaving, she's actually leaving. She's dressed up, in the living room, looking around the living room and reminiscing.
Reminiscing about the times she spent in this house, she's going to miss it, she's going to miss Earth, but she's going to miss her dad most of all.
Patrick isn't following them because he's gotten used to the planet, and also, if he goes back home, everything will remind him of his wife. They've only spent ten years on earth together, but he's known her all his life in Lenfairia.
Elena gives the living room one last look.
Alex puts his hand on hers. "We can always come back to visit," he says. Elena looks at him with sad eyes and nods her head.
"Oh, come on, enough of the doe eyes." Says Elena, turning her frown upside down. "I'm going to a new planet," she turns around, and she walks out of the house toward the car where Patrick is standing waiting for them.
A blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. He's obsessed with that car.
"It's going to be fun! It'll be a party! Whoomp whoomp!" she sings, pushing her hands in the air.
Patrick clears his throat. "Speaking of parties, you are lucky that you're leaving; if not, I would have grounded you for sneaking out to go clubbing while being underage."
Elena giggles nervously because her dad finding out that she went to the club is one of the reasons why she decided to go to Lenfairia, to avoid punishment.
"It's not funny, Elena, you could have gotten killed. What if Alex and Pierre hadn't gotten there in time?" Patrick asks, crossed. And Elena has a feeling he's not just angry that she snuck out of the house to go to a club, but at the fact that she's leaving Earth, the place she was raised in.
Elena does feel bad for sneaking out of the house, even when her dad kept telling her not to.
She doesn't know what else to say but sorry, which she's about to do, but…
"Hello neighbours!"
"Ugh," Alex says in disgust, and Elena rolls her eyes before waving at Mrs Susan. An annoying white Karen in her late forties who doesn't mind her business, she's wearing a floral pinkish white robe, and she has hair rollers on her dark blonde hair.
She has a slim figure and a long nose that always seems to be in other people's business.
She acts all smiley when she's around, but behind their backs, she's called them a weird family because of Alex and his dad's silver hair and pointy ears, but most especially at the fact that they have brown skin and there's a white girl in the midst of them.
She's not just annoying, but she's a racist bitch.
"Why hello, Mrs Susan, how are you this fine morning?" Patrick asks.
"I'm good and you all, what are we up to this fine fall morning?"
"About to beat you up," Alex mutters, and Elena tries her best not to laugh, so she purses her lips.
"Nothing much, Mrs Susan, have a nice day," Patrick says, waving at his neighbour, signifying that she should disappear. Mrs Susan lingers a bit before walking away with her dog Scruffles, a Border Collie who is probably tired of her bullshit and wants to be set free.
"Poor dog," Elena says, pouting her lips. Her eyes avert from the dog when she feels her father looking at her.
Elena sighs. Her dad isn't done scolding her.
"Dad, I'm so sorry, but you know me. I'm like a horse," she neighs. And Pierre purses his lips, trying hard not to laugh. Patrick tries his best not to laugh as well, and Alex shakes his head at how clownish his best friend is.
"But I see how you can be annoyed. I did almost get killed by vampires last night. And if Alex and Pierre…" She looks at Pierre, who shoots his head up at her, and she gets the chill, and it's not just coming from the autumn wind.
He's just too hot.
"I would have been gone forever, and that would not have been fair to you, because-" she was about to say, because he lost his wife, the love of his life.
Patrick sighs, "It's fine, just don't do this in Euroix," he says, and Elena nods. "Okay, now get in the car, I'll take you guys to the train station." Patrick gets into the driver's seat, and Alex gets into the passenger's seat. Elena lingers around her neighbourhood for a while; she's going to miss this place that she knows.
Her eyes land on Mrs Susan, who is watering her plants yet still looking at Elena. Elena smirks and throws the middle finger her way. Mrs Susan's mouth drops, and Elena laughs, and she enters the car, her smile disappears when she realises she's sitting next to Pierre. She blushes.
"Hi."
"Bonjour," Pierre says, smiling, and Elena looks away nervously.
Bloody hell, he's so fucking hot.
She thinks to herself, and it's a surprise that someone fumbled him. How?
They're now at the train station. They've dropped Alex off to go to school before, but Elena has never followed him into the station to see the magic of how the train is going to take him to another planet.
But now she's going to see, and not just because she's dropping Alex off, but she's going with him. She's so fucking excited.
She looks around, and everyone is going about their day. Little do they know there are magical creatures in this station who are about to go to another planet.
Elena can't help but imagine a scenario where a human accidentally follows them to the other planet. What would happen to him? Will he become sick just like how a charmcaster from the continent Afrociti would feel if they went to the continent Euroix? She doesn't know.
"Okay, Alex, bring out the pixie dust," Patrick says, and Alex does as he's told. He brings out a brown bag, puts his hand in it and brings out a purple dust.
Purple pixie dust for transportation.
Elena remembers all of Alex's teachings when he came back from school for the summer. She's about to see a magical dust gotten from tiny creatures in action.
Alex throws the dust in the air, and suddenly, time slows down. Elena looks around to see people walking in slow motion, and the train moves in slow motion as well.
Time has frozen.
"Whoa, so cool," Elena says, looking around with a smile on her face.
The only people not moving slowly are the magical creatures and the train that has just appeared in front of them.
It's whimsical and mystical but modern at the same time. The door opens up, waiting for them to go in.
Well, this is it.
"See you soon, Dad," Alex says to his father. Patrick puts his strong hands on his son's back. "You take care of her, okay?"
"Always," Alex says, and then he goes into the train.
"Thank you so much for the hospitality, Mr Walker."
"Pierre, I told you to stop calling me Mr Walker and call me Patrick." Patrick shakes Pierre's shoulders. Pierre laughs.
"Thank you, Patrick."
"You're welcome, have a great school year." Pierre nods like the gentleman he is and follows Alex.
"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Elena asks.
"No, I'll just stay here, but I will come visit."
Elena looks at her dad for a while before embracing him in a hug. Patrick is taken aback by that; he doesn't know why, since Elena is always hugging people. She loves hugs.
"Thank you for everything, Dad."
Patrick hugs her tightly. He knows there's no need for her to thank him, but he loves that she is grateful.
"Okay, you're okay now, go," he blinks numerously to hide the tears that threaten to escape from his eyes.
"Bye, Dad," she plants a kiss on his cheek and then gets into the train. The door closes. Elena doesn't know if it's magic or technology, but either way, it's cool. She stays by the window, waving at her dad. The train moves, and she still stays there waving. That's until Patrick is out of sight.
