Chapter 5 - 4. The Memories We Make

Elena has heard about Lenfairia all her life, how that world is filled with magic, lots of creatures that don't exist in this world exist there. A world where fairies, elves, mermaids, unicorns and dragons exist. Creatures humans think don't exist.

How different Gods came together to create that planet in their own unique way, and how Lenfairia is so magical that it inspires people here on earth when it comes to creativity.

She loves this planet, but she's always wanted to go back home, because even though the last time she was there was when she was a baby, she feels connected to that planet. She doesn't just want to live there because she's a princess; her being a princess is the last thing on her mind.

She just wants to go back home; she has dreamt of that place for the longest time, and she thought she wouldn't go there until after high school, but it seems like the time is now.

Besides, she wants to learn more about her powers and be closer to her parents and learn more about their background.

"Are you sure, Elena?" Patrick asks her.

"Yes, Dad, of course she's sure. She looks very sure she's always wanted to go there."

Elena ignores Alex, and she looks at her dad, the man who raised her and promised to protect her. He's the spitting image of Alex; this is how Alex is going to look when he grows older. She's sure of it.

He's not like other dads. The silver color hair, that all elves have, the sharp jawline, the muscles. So many women have wanted to be with him, but he keeps declining, not necessarily because they're all humans but because his heart is still tethered to the love of his life. Alexandra Walker.

Elena doesn't blame him, but at the same time, she still thinks he should consider. Everyone deserves love.

"Yes, I'm sure. I love it here, but let's be real, you knew that this day would come." Elena says. Patrick nods his head because he knew this day would come; he's been keeping her safe for the very day that Elena would leave this planet.

He just didn't know that the day would come so soon.

Elena places her hand on Patrick's hand.

"It's time, Dad," she says, and Patrick tries hard not to be too emotional. He's going to try his best not to be for her.

He nods his head because what else can he do? He made a promise to her parents, he and Alexandra and now he has to keep it. And besides, she is ready to leave.

Patrick puts his warm hands on Elena and then looks her in the eyes.

"If that's what you want, then that's okay."

Elena smiles at her dad. "Thanks, Dad."

"Alright, good. Now that we've gotten all that out of the way, we leave right now." Says Alex.

Elena's jaw drops. "Now?"

"Yes, now. The transportation pixie dust I have only lasts for today." Alex affirms.

"But but but I haven't even packed, and I have to say goodbye to my friends."

"You don't have to pack anything, you'll have new clothes when you get there. That's what your uncle Conrad said I should tell you."

Her uncle Conrad, the one who took over as king after his brother died. People say he was happy to be the second child because he didn't want to be king at all, but unfortunately, he had to be. Elena is supposed to be next in line, but she couldn't rule because she was just a baby. Her uncle Conrad is just keeping her throne warm.

"As for your friends, don't worry. I'll talk to them." Patrick says, and Elena looks at Alex and puckers her lips.

She knows she's going to miss this place.

After showering, she puts on her clothes, Blue jeans, a white shirt and a brown leather jacket. After using her power to get her hair dry, she looks around her, at the room she grew up in, all the memories she made in here.

From her being read bed time stories by her mom and dad, to her and Alex having sleep overs in here and jumping up and down, to her first kiss, her dad walked in on them and wanted to kill the poor boy, she was fourteen and it was with her first and only boyfriend Xavier Ross who moved to America after the tenth grade.

A knock on the door.

"Come in," she says and in comes Alex, and she furrows her brows. "Huh, you never knock."

I decided to do that today because this is probably an emotional moment for you," he says, putting his hands on his waist. Elena only looks away.

"Seriously, how are you, though? Are you having second thoughts?"

"No?" she says quickly. "I mean, I'm going to miss this place, but you know. I have always wanted to go to Lenfairia."

"Yeah, yeah, I know you haven't shut up about it." Alex hops on the bed, making himself comfortable. He looks around and sighs.

"This was where I came out to you." He says.

"Yeah, I was so happy I was the first person you told," she says, sitting down.

"You already knew," Alex says begrudgingly.

"Well, duh, because you really, really liked Daniel River, you couldn't stop following him, wanting him to be your best friend, and you also couldn't stop staring at him. Not that I blame you, everyone liked Daniel."

"Ah, Danie, my first love. Too bad he was straight." Alex says, disappointedly, Elena giggles.

Alex and Elena are really close; they don't just see each other as best friends but as siblings. They have a strong bond that cannot be broken by anyone or anything. They've vowed to always have each other's backs.

When they were eleven years old. There was a kid who wanted to bully Elena, a fourteen-year-old named Gabriel Baxter, who couldn't move to the next grade because he was that stupid, and since he was taller and older than the other kids, he had the power to do whatever he wanted to them.

Although Elena did put up a fight when Gabriel tried to bully her, when Alex saw him picking on her, he thought enough was enough and gave Gabriel the beating of his life.

Everyone was cheering and cheering because the kids were tired of his bullshit. The teachers didn't do anything because they were also tired of Gabriel's bullshi, they did wonder how a tiny eleven-year-old could beat a tall fourteen-year-old old though.

They didn't know he was an elf with the skills to deal with anyone.

Ever since that day, Gabriel had been really quiet. He hadn't bullied anyone since then, and everyone saw Alex as a hero.

That's because he is. Alex is always there for Elena, and Elena has always been there for him.

It killed her when it was time for Alex to move to Lenfairia to school in Euroix at Hollow Prep Academy for his ninth year. That was the moment she knew she had to make new friends; that's how she made friends with Naomi Mendler and Sydney Smith, who love partying just as much as she does.

But now she and Alex are going to be in the same school, she's going to miss Sydney and Naomi, but being in the same school with Alex is exciting.

"Is uhm." Elena scratches her back. "Is Pierre straight?"

Alex looks at Elena. "You boy crazy bitch, I knew it, I knew it." Elena laughs.

"What? It's not my fault I was born to admire men's beauty," she says, making Alex shake his head in awe at his best friend.

"Wow, okay, yes, he is single, but he just got out of a bad relationship with the Princess of Russiax."

"Oh wow, what happened?"

"Well, he caught her cheating on him with Henry, your cousin."

"What?"

"Yep."

"Oh wow, that sucks, he must be hurting."

"Yeah, he really liked her, but Anastasia's a bitch, so I'm glad that's over." Alex shrugs, and Elena can't help but think of how an individual could cheat on such a handsome gentleman. It's bizarre, really bizarre.

She would never do that to him.

But she should slow down because he might not be ready for a relationship just yet.

"Alright, you boy crazy wanker." Alex stands to his feet and stretches out his hand for her to take it. "It's time."

Elena takes Alex's hand and stands up. They both head toward the door. Alex walks out first, Elena gives her room one last look and then smiles and heads out the door, then closes it.
