Sitting in his dorm room, Kaito crushed the last thing that Evans the Clown had left in this world. The crimson light instantly shattered into motes of sparkling dust that swirled around his hand.

The crimson glow around Kaito's hand coalesced into lines of red text. The five reward categories had been adjusted based on the calculations, and possibly due to the special nature of being a [Karma Reincarnator], he was allowed to choose two of them.
"This is practically tempting me to hunt more Reincarnators, tsk," Kaito complained under his breath, but his eyes were smiling. He was already beginning to realize that, compared to dealing with plot characters who didn't even understand their own world, battles between Reincarnators were far more brutal and, frankly, more to his liking.
Kaito considered the five options. He immediately ruled out A; he still had 3950 Dimensional Points, which was his most abundant resource at the moment.
B, on the other hand, was a must-pick. He knew for a fact that Evans's inventory had to contain the scroll for the secret technique he had shown but never used: [Devil Lance].
[Devil Lance] was another ultimate technique from the world of Kengan, a "one-hit kill" move developed by the world's top martial arts master, Kuroki Gensai, by combining the principles of the Niko and Kaiwan Styles.

As he thought, Kaito maintained the special rhythm of his breathing. He had been practicing [Hamon] almost non-stop. The art itself had considerable healing and life-extending effects. It would be best if he could level up the ability in the real world before spending points on it in the Nexus, but for now, the internal ripples generated by the breathing technique vibrated his damaged muscles, causing intense pain. Perhaps he really did need to seek medical attention for his injuries to ensure his combat effectiveness wasn't compromised when the next mission started.

In the end, Kaito didn't choose D or E. Evans's combat power hadn't been particularly impressive; even the Nexus's own power-level comparison judged him as only slightly stronger than Kaito overall. His real strength lay in the special nature of the [Seer] Sequence; its unique divination ability allowed him to seek fortune and avoid disaster, even gaining access to highly secret information. But this ability required consuming potions and digesting them through the Acting Method. Kaito wasn't sure if something like that would be classified as a [Lineage] or something else entirely. As for Evans's other martial arts skills, Kaito had seen that he hadn't used any of the true ultimate techniques like [Possessing Spirit], [Demonsbane], or [Fallen Demon]. He guessed that Evans simply hadn't mastered them. Kaito didn't want to waste a precious draw on a common martial arts skill that only involved muscle control and force channeling.
Attribute points, on the other hand, were always welcome.

Kaito's entire body spasmed as if electrocuted. He shook out his arms and legs and found that he did, in fact, feel slightly lighter. His Agility was now at 14, nearly three times that of a normal person. He could feel that his reaction time had also been significantly enhanced. The flapping of a bird's wings outside his window became incredibly clear in his vision. If he wanted to, he felt he could probably kill that stupid, noisy bird with a thrown pencil.
Kaito suddenly froze. Has that bird always been outside the dorm? Come to think of it, hadn't it been appearing a little too frequently over the past couple of days? He suddenly remembered what Inspector Sato had said about [Surveillance]. Is this one of their methods?
He turned his attention to the items he had just received.

Kaito glanced at the wound on his chest but decided against using the scroll. Resources from the Nexus were precious. A simple muscle injury could be treated at a hospital.
He looked at the next scroll.

This ability was rated C+. Since B-rank abilities almost always involved some form of energy projection, this purely physical technique was already at the terrifying apex of both skill and power. The requirements didn't limit Strength or Agility, likely because those stats would only affect the skill's performance. But if one's Constitution was too low, trying to use such a move would destroy your own hand first.
The so-called [Kaiwan Style] was an assassination art from Ryukyu, combining features of Ryukyuan martial arts and Chinese Tang Shou. It required conditioning one's limbs using traditional Chinese martial arts methods, stimulating the meridians and acupoints with ki until the limbs themselves were forged into "spears." Without that level of conditioning, one couldn't use the terrifying technique known as [Devil Lance].
Kaito guessed this was the reason Evans had held onto the scroll without using it.
Kaito's current Constitution was 12. Even with the temporary boost from Mercenary Tao's robe, it was only 14, still not enough to meet the learning requirement. He knew that if he could improve his Hamon, the ripple energy might help him make a new breakthrough. When that time came, perhaps he would be able to unleash the Devil Lance.
After storing those two items, all that was left was the [Advanced Data Drive U35]. It looked exactly like a white USB flash drive.
