Toshiro Hirakaga is my name. I live in a world where humans and monsters coexist peacefully. And I'm now enrolled to the school that started it all.
Shin Armura High School. A school that used to be built for monsters and demihumans to gain an education started to allow humans to attend there. There were some bumps… but overall it was a peaceful experience for them. The demihumans and monster students treated the humans respectfully and the school became the safest place for them 3 groups to coexist for a while. It's thanks to the efforts of this school that eventually led to equality between humans, demihumans, and monsters.
And now I'm going to attend this school! Of course I'm excited!
Or so I thought…
The classroom I'm in… is utter chaos! It was like I stepped into a war zone!
In the front of the classroom, A lion monster and a dragon demihuman was having a contest of strength, while the rest of the classroom was cheering for them.
I was sitting in the corner, terrified. I can't even focus on my book… it's that loud! But I'm scared to even say anything. I feel like I'd die both socially and physically.
I say the lion monster gets pinned down by the dragon demihuman. The lion monster begins pleading "Uncle! Uncle! You win!!!"
The dragon demihuman let go and raised her hand up triumphantly.
This classroom is full of barbarians.
Well there was one oasis in this hostile world of this classroom.
"Hey… sorry you had to deal with this stuff this early in the morning."
A boy with purple hair who was wearing sunglasses was looking at my direction, looking at me with pity.
"Oh no, it's fine."
This boy was the only one that actually spoke to me first thing. He seemed kind enough so I answered and we've been talking ever since. As for what we been talking about…. His name is Sojiro-san by the way.
"Anyway…. That game you lend me was amazing! The story! The gameplay! I never thought games like that existed!"
"Ah I glad you like it. Sojiro-san."
"That's why…. I'm asking you if I can extend my time with it…. I REALLY want to 100% it."
"Ah… I've spawned another fan." I deadpan blurted out.
"Yep. You totally did. So can I?"
"Ah it's fine. But you only got a week. Think you can handle it?"
Sojiro-san began smirking as if I was challenging him. "Alright, deal."
We shake hands. Sojiro's hand felt cold. Like a reptile. Well he is related to snakes after all.

The only time the class was ever calm was when class started. Not because the students were actually good students… but because the teacher was just that scary.
Like really scary. He was an octopus demihuman with dead eyes. His name was Toto-senpai. He even got that boastful dragon demihuman obedience.
It doesn't help that the man keeps saying, "I wanna die" under his breath.
When lunch began, the chaos resumed with it. It was too much so I left immediately.
Sojiro was right behind me, following me, but was playing with a portable game console.
I was eating a bunch of rice balls I made, while Sojiro was eating fried fish.
"Dang…. This is tough…." Sojiro pouted as he focused on his game.
"You know… I wonder if I should join a club."
"That's sudden. What brought this up?"
"It's just, it's been 3 weeks now… and other than you, I got no friends whatsoever."
Sojiro finally put his console in his pocket and looks at me.
"Hm…. If you just wanted friend… I know just the club."
"S-Sojiro-san! You're a lifesaver!!!"
I clasped his hands together with mine and began shaking it rapidly.
"Thank you! thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!"
Sojiro laughed weakly. "It's no problem. No problem. I'll introduce you to the club tomorrow. Is that alright?"
"That's fine! Just let me know when you're ready. I know I will!" I puffed my chest up.
Sojiro's weak laugh grew a little louder.

Inside a classroom, Sojiro was sitting down on a chair. In front of him were 3 other students. The one sitting on the seat in front of him looked at Sojiro begin speaking.
"So you want me to accept Sir Hirakaga into this club?" He said as he looks at a piece of paper in his hands.
Sojiro nod.
The person on the left side took a peek. Showing her large ears and bat wings. She seems to be a Bat demihuman Looking uninterested. "He looks like a mob character…"
The person on the right seemed to nod. She had one horn on her forehead. Her hair was bright blue. She looked just as uninterested. "So, Sojiro wants to invite Mob-kun? Will he even be alright?"
Sojiro furrowed his eyebrows. "Please don't insult Toshiro-san like that."
The other two moved back… a little nervous.
"Sorry… Sojiro-" the bat demihuman said nervously. "I didn't think you thought highly of him."
The other female nod in response.
Sojiro let out a sigh. "You know what, maybe it's a bad idea to invite Toshiro her-"
The person sitting on the desk in front of Sojiro finally spoke. "He can join."
Everyone looked at the person in shock, even Sojiro.
"The reason is that he wants friends right? That's the whole reason why I've made this club to begin with. I want all of us, no matter what species, to get along."
The person leaned in showing his face. He was an oni. He had two horns on each side. He had piercing green eyes and his hair as black as the night sky. Only his face was human like.
"Besides….. It's nice to have another guy around! Hahaha!"
The two girls looked at each other before nodding.
"Well, if Kajin-senpai said so, Mob-kun can join" the bat demihuman said as she put her hands behind her head.
"Indeed, if it's Kajin-sama's will." The other girl said nodding.
The oni named Kajin gives Sojiro a smile. "Besides, Toshiro's my childhood friend's first human friend. And a friend of my best friend is also my friend!"
Sojiro smiled back. "Thank you Kajin."
In my house I was making riceballs for not only my lunch tomorrow but also for the club members I might meet soon.
