The battle has finally ended in the mysterious girl's favour.
The blob died, but at the cost of 90% of the girl's aura.
In the distance, the golden knight stood there, staring at her. His eyes shone brightly through the broken helmet.
"Aldric, you may rest now…" The girl mumbled, barely able to keep her legs straight.
Slowly, he closed his eyes, stabbing his sword into the ground.
"Yes, I'll do as you please." Just as he said that, his body started turning into mist.
The rest of the knights did the same; some were injured, others were missing entire limbs, but either way, they all pierced the surface with their swords, even if they had to wield the sword with their teeth.
The girl let out a deep sigh before snapping her fingers together.
Suddenly, the space around her distorted, and the limbo was shrinking, and the air was thickening.
Yet she didn't flinch, as if she was accustomed to this. Her face expressed utmost calm.
The distortion started growing more extreme until the very laws of gravity started bending under her will.
It gradually intensifies until the limbo collapses entirely, there's a moment of blinding flash, followed by complete silence.
When her vision cleared, she found herself surrounded by endless green grassy plain, no annoying distractions in sight, nothing to disturb her anymore, or that's what she thought.
Out of nowhere, a sudden scream broke the silence. "Hey! What are you doing lying on my land! Get out of here before I call my men!" A man, seemingly in his middle ages, shouted. He held a long pitchfork in his hand, clad in farming equipment; his presence wasn't intimidating at all.
She could snap his body in two in an instant. He wouldn't even notice until he tried moving.
But she decided not to; instead, she stood up, clutching her sword with her arms. She sprints in the opposite direction, looking back, the man was chasing her, almost tripping on his own feet.
After a while, the man had finally stopped, falling on his back, he spouted. "I'm getting old, I shouldn't be doing this."
The girl, seeing this, slows her pace, but not completely; she kept brisk walking. "Now that that man is gone, what should I do? I've always wanted to live a quiet life, but I can't because of this curse placed on me," she thought to herself. The smile on her face was wiped clean, replaced by a pained expression.
A while passed.
In the distance, walls started to take shape. The girl smiled. "Have I finally found civilization?"
She started sprinting towards it, excitement clouding her judgement, unaware of what would happen to her.
While running, strange things started happening around her.
Inhuman shadows, loud footsteps, screeching. Everything pointed to one person.
A person with unbelievable strength and knowledge.
The girl froze in her tracks.
A giant shadow loomed against her.
Claws that could tear a human to pieces.
Eyes that could make you faint with a single glare.
"Wha-, What are you doing here?!" She muttered, her voice stuttering with each word spouted.
Weary, she stepped back.
"The leader has personally given you a mission." The figure mentioned, his voice sounded like the incarnation of the devil himself.
The girl, hearing him mention him, started panicking. She tightened her grip on her sword, and she started shivering.
Unexpectedly, in a split second, the girl unsheathed her sword and swung it at the figure standing in front of her.
But his presence didn't falter. Upon a closer look, he appeared to have caught the sword with only his fingers.
He opened his mouth. "The leader has ordered you to eliminate a certain someone, blonde hair, blue eyes, tall and attractive. Hm, that cheeky brat must be joking with us."
"A-an assination? But-t he said that my days of killing are over!" She shouted, pulling back her sword.
"Words are nothing but temporary…" He whispered, in an instant, his figure dissipated, leaving only a strange gem.
"H-eh, I'll never escape this hell, will I?" Her eyes watered, but she composed herself quickly after this.
"I'll go visit that village, and after that, I'll start searching for this person." She hushed as she started walking toward the village, and after a while, she had finally arrived.
A guard was sitting on a chair, hugging his sword.
"Hello, am I eligible to enter this village?" She muttered.
No one replied. After a long silence, her anger had finally caught up to her.
She knocked on the guard's helmet.
"Hellooooo!"
But again, no response.
Her hand slowly reached for his helmet.
Slowly, and carefully removing it from on top of his head.
What lay inside it shocked her.
"Sleeping? Who even sleeps during broad daylight?!" She shouted, waving her arms in the air like a madman.
But this commotion had attracted another person.
From on top.
A second guard, carrying a bow and arrow, shouted. "Hey! What do you want! You don't have permission to enter this precious village!" He pointed his bow at her, not hesitating to let go of the string.
"Why not? Ugh, I guess we gotta do this the hard way!" She mumbled. Her face dropped, but her expression quickly switched into excitement.
Suddenly, the girl disappeared from the guard's sight.
"Huh? Where did she go? Was I just imagining stuff, man, I gotta stop sleeping so late-" He said, turning back.
But I wasn't expecting a figure to be behind him.
He lifted his hands to defend himself, but it was too late.
The girl pushed him off the wall.
But it was just a short fall. At least in her eyes.
The guard lay unconscious under there.
She opened her mouth, letting out a few words. "Whoops, that didn't go as well as I imagined."
"Now, now, should I finally enter this village?" She started walking towards the other side. But quickly froze. Astonished.
The view before her left her mesmerized.
Fluttering markets, kids playing, guards patrolling. This was everything she had ever dreamt about.
"I would've lived here for the rest of my life if not for this stupid curse."
