Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Here we go again...

Two days later...

Peter Parker was lying in his bed staring with a blank stare at the ceiling of his bunk bed while thinking about the interesting encounter he had with the private detective Jessica Jones, a super strong woman with whom he had the fortune, or misfortune, both are valid, to meet her in a raid that happened and that went wrong, it was exactly two days ago that that same woman somehow found him at his school and discovered his secret identity.

On top of that, he hasn't heard from her in two damn days.

Poor Parker hasn't been able to sleep since then because he's been waiting anxiously and fearfully for Jones's call, he sat up in his bed to get up and crack his back, he had recently finished a History essay which he was sure he would pass and finished studying for an algebra test, so he had free time to analyze well what was happening.

Peter just threw himself back onto the bed and rolled around trying and failing miserably to understand what was happening to his life; not only had he stopped the Vulture, but now he was figuring out how he got to this point in his life where everything was messed up, May knew his identity as did Ned, Mr. Stark offered him a position in the Avengers which he turned down.

Now she was a wild card for a cute adult private detective how did that order of events end up like this?! I couldn't say.

He stood up again with his hands on his head, his mind going 100 km/h, he thought and thought so much that it seemed like smoke was coming out of his ears.

-¡PETER PARKER! -

The brunette felt all the hairs on his neck stand up and moving his head to the side, he saw a banana pass by his head, he broke out in a cold sweat seeing that as he wondered how she dodged it? But he sweated more when he turned to see the woman who practically raised him like a son and looked somewhat scared by the scream.

-What the hell are those noises?!

-I'm so sorry May, I didn't mean tol

"Oh-Really? How come you didn't mean to run away from school a few days ago?" the Italian girl challenged, causing the boy to nearly fall face first onto the ground.

-I already explained to you that I had to stop a crime and it happened a few blocks near my school - Peter excuses himself because he couldn't really tell her what happened that day with Detective Jones.

After Jessica left, Peter returned home but to his surprise, his Aunt May received a call from school saying that he had run away, from there he received his eighth scolding and the woman's lecture.

Lucky for him, he didn't forbid him from leaving the house to patrol like Spiderman, because if that were the case, his life would no longer have any meaning, and he wasn't exaggerating about it.

It happened to him once a month ago, and he was in his room for so long he felt like he was in jail. Maybe I'm exaggerating that part a little. But what else matters?

"Auntie, why did you throw this at me?" Peter asks his Aunt May, who smiled sideways as she leaned closer to her nephew and ruffled his hair.

"I wanted to see if your 'sting' was working properly," she replied in a relaxed manner.

-Auntie, how many times have I told you not to call him "puncture," his name. is horrible. The arachnid emphasized, letting out a tired sigh and peeling the banana to eat it.

Of course, kid, I also heard some screams coming from your room. May said dryly-Were you watching porn?

"NOTHING OF THATI" Peter roared, mortified, a severe blush forming on his features.

"Why are you embarrassed? You're a teenager, and that's normal. Although I warn you, if I find out you got a giri pregnant, I'll surgically cut off your balls with a..."

"How did we get into this conversation?" Peter said to himself, wanting to pull his hair out. He loved his aunt, but her threats were very unorthodox, making the Italian woman roll her eyes.

"I wasn't the one who started yelling out of nowhere, it was you," May said, sighing. "If you want, you can go out to eat with me."

Yeah, a Chinese meal wouldn't hurt me - Peter answers calmly At one point Aunt needed to put away my school books for tomorrow.

-Okay honey, get dressed well so we can go and...delete your computer history because today I'm going to use it and.... She is interrupted by the brunette's shout.

-MAYIII -Peter exclaimed, smiling because he knows what his Aunt means by the history I'm not one to watch those things (except for a few times) He thought about the last thing.

Oh Peter, one day you'll stop being ashamed and you'll know that watching porn is normal, unless you don't like girls and you're a.... But before May could finish the word, Peter covered her mouth with his hand.

-Okay, enough, Tia, get out of my room!!! - Peter said, trying to get her out of his room, very nervous..

"You're feeling sensitive, well, I'll wait for you outside," May said as Peter pulled her out of her room and slammed the door. "Pfft, teenagers..."

Peter loved May very much, but she could be too much sometimes and her crude and somewhat dark jokes threw him off a bit, not in a bad way, it's just that she always caught him red-handed and said that kind of thing when he least expected it, he sometimes wondered if he got that thing about making jokes when fighting from her... although he made jokes to forget that he was fighting for his life and it was a good self-defense mechanism.

He then heard his phone ring on his desk, he picked it up and answered without looking at who was calling, surely it was Ned asking him about the Harry Potter Lego castle he bought a few days ago with almost 4000 pieces.

Hey old man, I think I could help you build the castle later, Ned, I would only do it after my patrol. And....

-Who the hell is Ned? And are you a five-year-old boy who's building castles?

Jessica Jones's voice sounded through his phone's speaker, causing Peter to pull his phone away from his ear with a poker face and look at the unknown number before putting his phone back to his right ear.

"How the hell did you get my personal number?" Peter asked.

-Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? Have more respect, kid.

"Just tell me how you did it!" Peter exclaimed, his eyes wide with adrenaline, since he didn't remember giving Jessica his personal number.

-I have my methods, a detective never reveals her secrets - Was the only thing Jessica responded through the phone, leaving the brunette confused,

T-That doesn't convince me, you know?! I still think you're stalking me -Peter said with doubts and walked to his window looking if there was anyone but no, everything clear- (I think I should stop watching suspense movies, I'm already acting like a paranoid)

"Hello? Are you still there, Niño?" Jessica's voice asked, pulling him out of his thoughts, and he quickly answered.

-Yes, I'm here, sorry - Peter answers and let out a heavy sigh-Anyway, then you'll tell me how you got my number, why are you calling me?

- What do you think? I have a lead we need to follow today, and I'll need your help tonight.

"That was too fast!" The brunette thought, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets, seeing that not even a week had passed and he already had to work with Jessica today.

-W-Where is that clue...?

-Near Hell's Kitchen.

"That Daredevil guy won't kill us if we're in his area, will he?" Peter asked, his face pale, listening to the detective snort on the other end of the line.

"Do you think I care what that grumpy cuckold thinks? It's an Asian restaurant where they supposedly have connections that could be useful to us if we go to interrogate them," Jessica explained as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

"There are so many things wrong with that plan. Are you sure they won't meet us with bullets?" the brunette asked, a drop of sweat running down his forehead.

"Do you expect them to greet us with hugs and kisses? Of course there's that risk," the woman said. "We just have to try to get lucky and get out of here unscathed. We're talking about the NY mafia, you brat."

"Being lucky is not one of my gifts... Damn luck Parker" Peter thought, sighing heavily.

Anyway, I already told you the matter now I'll expect you before 9 pm and don't be late - Jessica spoke as if it were a threat and the arachnid swallowed that dryly.

Just as he was about to answer yes, he forgot one thing: that he'd be spending time with his Aunt May tonight, and now he didn't know what excuse to give Jones. Honestly, he didn't expect Jessica to call him out of the blue.

-Um, Miss Jones...I have a problem and I'm afraid I won't be able to meet at that time- Peter said with some fear in his words.

"Why can't you?" If his tone had sounded normal, Peter would have been calm, but instead of hearing it that way, it sounded like he was holding back his anger.

What could she say? She couldn't tell him anything about her private life, and that she'd be spending the whole night with her Aunt May at the restaurant, eating and watching movies. She couldn't tell him that, so she had to come up with a believable excuse and maybe leave Hell's Kitchen for tomorrow.

-Did a cat get your tongue? Tell me why the hell you can't go at that hour!

-Hmm-

"Oh, come on, don't tell me; that's your secret porn-watching time and you need your time for yourself." Jessica snorted, and Peter could swear she was rolling her eyes. "Hormonal teenagers, like the-"

"IT'S NOTHING LIKE THAT!" Peter exclaimed loudly. "It's just... my best friend is coming over tonight! It's about a school project we have due tomorrow, and I'd like to give him a little of my time before I help you."

-"God, what the hell am I saying?"- Peter thought about this complicated matter, he didn't want to imagine what Jessica, being the rude woman she is, would say to him when faced with an excuse like that, but hey, maybe she'll be understanding and-

-I don't give a shit about you and your shitty little school. I'll see you at 9 p.m. if I don't see you by then, consider two things: I'll take your eyes out with my fingers and use them as ping pong balls. The other thing is that I'll take you off the case. You have no choice.

And with that he hung up, although to be honest he didn't know why, but he was already afraid this would happen, although now he had another problem.

-"What the hell am I going to tell my aunt?!"

All Peter could do was bang his head hard against the wall next to his bedroom door.

Although that noise caused May to hear it and walk to the brunette's room, who quickly grabbed some clothes to change into at an impressive speed, and her aunt had barely opened the door. Peter was putting on his Captain America t-shirt..

"Peter, what was that noise earlier? If you're masturbating, try not to do it in..." He is interrupted by his nephew.

No, Aunt, I just dropped a book and picked it up hehe Peter answers somewhat uneasily and had a drop of sweat running down his forehead.

-Oh okay, I see you're ready, come on, let's go or we'll lose our table - May said with a smile as she left the room, leaving Peter thinking about what he would say to the woman.

This is going to be harder than you thought.

Well, he had two hours to come up with another excuse about having to leave somewhere at 8:00, maybe he could get Ned involved. All he had to do was call him and tell him roughly the situation, leaving out the private detective who knew who he really was.

Peter putting on his balls went out and with a crooked smile saw May looking at the contents of her bag and looking at him with a smile.

"Oh, are you done with your teenage stuff?" May asked, getting ready. "I hope we're not late, because

"May... um, how do I put this? I have a problem, Peter said, sweating. "It's something about school, and I have to stop by Ned's for a bit. I'll swing by so I don't take too long."

May looked at him with a raised eyebrow at that, she practically knew and knew her nephew well enough to know that he was hiding something from her, but she simply told him.

"Okay, if that's why, then I'll go to the restaurant and wait for you there because I don't think it'll take you long," May said, grabbing her purse and kissing her nephew on the forehead before heading out the door. "See you there, Peter."

Saying that and locking the door, the boy rushed to his phone, texting Ned what was happening while putting on his suit and mask and there he received a response from Ned.

Dude, I'd go to the ends of the earth for you, but I don't know if I want to earn May's wrath seeing that you're giving her shit again. I think if you had told her 'I think there wouldn't have been any problem.

Spidey just sent him a voice message saying the following: - Blame my damn luck, Parker, for what's happening to me! Just help me with May and I'll repay you by building 40% of the castle alone. Just watch my back one last time and that's it!

I wait a few seconds until I receive the next message from Ned. "Really? That's great because I wouldn't know what to do if I didn't finish building most of the castle and yes, I'll help you, but you better keep your word."

Peter sighs in relief and with a smile he wrote his last message to his friend-"You're an angel Ned thanks for this, I have to go you know what to do when my aunt calls you at home" and with that he sent his message.

He took his mask to open his bedroom window and jumped in to shoot a net, heading to the location the detective had given him. He had to use Google Maps on his phone to get there early. Jessica told him she'd arrive shortly before 9, and that's what she'd do. There were 40 minutes left, so he's on time.

-Sometimes that woman gives me a bad feeling and it's incredible that she knows who I am... He thought while swinging. I must be very careful with her too...

Peter wasn't just thinking about Jessica, but also about going to Hell's Kitchen. That place was a real drag, and it was the first time he'd ever gone there. For very obvious reasons, and it was because a certain vigilante with Batman-like horns was guarding that area. He just hoped he wouldn't find him because he was scared.

Hell 'S Kitchen 8:45pm

It would take all of Spider-Man's skills and great speed to get to the location Jessica had sent him to, he landed on the roof of a nearby building seeing in the distance a somewhat desolate Thai restaurant for a Sunday night and that gave the boy some suspicion of what was going on in there since normally and he had learned this from TV series; these types of places were a perfect front for strange mafia meetings or things like that.

-"I have to stop watching so much Hawaii 5-0 or CSI..." Spidey thought, scratching the back of his neck and waiting for the detective, seeing that she had arrived 15 minutes early, then he could sit down and eagerly await the arrival of-

-You arrived early, how punctual.-

Spidey almost fell to the ground when he heard the detective's voice next to him. He turned to see that Jessica Jones's face was just a few feet away from him.

Spidey's white contact lenses connected with the detective's serious and curious gaze, which was reflected in the woman's light eyes, giving the older woman a certain charm despite her rough exterior.

Y-You have beautiful eyes. - Spidey said without thinking and Jessica stared at him for several seconds until she snorted but played with one of her black locks with her finger.

If that's to make up for leaving me hanging, then you're wrong.

"You caught me off guard! I never expected your call so soon." He defended himself by pointing at her.

"This job is about getting used to that," Jessica said dryly, finding the excuse stupid.

-Sure...well I'm here now what's the situation? Spiderman said getting up from the cold floor looking at the detective with his arms crossed.

-Hammerhead's men will meet at that restaurant and do business- Said the woman looking at the place with a serious look.

"I guess we'll make our heroic entrance," Peter joked with the last part, although it didn't cause him any thanks to the brunette. "Don't you ever laugh? He must be some kind of robot." He said the last part in a not-so-audible whisper.

"No, it's just that your sense of humor is shit," Jessica said with honest sincerity.

"Damn, miss, didn't they tell you that's how you keep men away?" Spidey said sarcastically, making a vein appear on the detective's forehead.

"What I need are two things," the detective said with a forced smile. "Shut up and get off your ass so I can get into that shithole and interrogate those sons of bitches."

-And that mouth. Spidey said, shaking his head. You sound like a truck driver talking, clean up your vocabulary and maybe people will look at you with a natural shine, but now you look like...?!

Jessica then took the spider's face in her hand and began to squeeze it with her superhuman strength, causing the boy to grunt, as it was a force used to crush his skull.

"Now listen to me carefully and I won't repeat it: shut up or else I'll rip out your vocal cords and you'll have to play guitar with these. D-I UNDERSTAND?" He said with a smile that seemed gentle. But inside, he had murderous intentions.

-Yes, I understand, let me golll -Peter exclaimed, feeling like his skull was going to break at any moment. It seemed like the woman couldn't contain her strength at all.

The brunette sighed and let go of the arachnid's head, which clutched its hands in pain. It was as if a mass had squeezed its head, only it wasn't as gentle and it was incredibly painful.

-(That woman is completely crazy) -Peter thought with some fear- (Now I'm regretting having offered her my help)

Peter watched as she pulled out a can of beer to start drinking it-Are you drinking since we just walked in?!

What Peter didn't know was that beer served to calm Jessica's stress as well as relax her a little from her problems and right now her problem was a certain spider that couldn't close its mouth at any time.

"Adult stuff, you wouldn't understand," Jessica said, crushing the can in her hands and throwing it behind her. "Well, let's not waste any time."

He said to jump and fall elegantly from the roof of the building to the amazement of the spider who watched in amazement and with his "eyes" wide open as the woman kicked down the door and the screams of...

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" someone inside shouted and gunshots were heard, which became more pronounced when a guy broke through the restaurant's main window.

"Doesn't that crazy woman know the word discretion?!" Spidey roared, shooting two webs at the broken window and rushing inside, where the first thing he noticed was that Jessica had a guy grabbed by the neck.

Then he noticed another guy had a gun pointed at Jessica, but the spider shot a web at the guy and then lunged at him and punched him.

"Hey guys, we're aggressive. Can't you give me the menu for tonight?" Spidey said, then jumped on another guy and threw him off his feet, causing him to crash into an expensive lamp and fall to the ground with a grunt. "I hope the food's really good."

"Will you tell me what I really need?" Jessica asked, tightening her grip and without turning around, she swatted at a waitress who tried to approach her with a knife, which would have worked if only she hadn't screamed like a crazy person, which she didn't.

-Fuck you, whore-

But Jessica threw him across the room, hitting a shelf that wobbled and ended up falling on top of the guy. She huffed and received a punch from another guy. She only bent his hand to give him a strong headbutt, knocking him out in the process.

At that moment, a man got up from the ground to grab his gun and shoot him, but a spider web snatched the weapon away. Jessica walked up to the thug, grabbed him by the neck, and punched him in the face. She didn't go too hard because she didn't want to knock him out, but rather to find answers.

-Well, since your friend didn't want to tell me anything, now you will - Jessica said.

-Fuck you...AGGHHHHH!!!

He didn't finish his sentence as Jessica had just dislocated his shoulder, leaving it out of place, while Peter felt sorry for the poor guy who had just insulted the woman.

"Talk at once, or I'll dislocate the other one until you're in a vegetative state," Jones warned in a stern tone, much to the fear and surprise of the guy.

-I won't say anything!!! I'll never betray my boss. He's going to kill you and that spider guy you have as a partner anyway, he said.

Jessica just sighed heavily and looked at the guy with extremely angry eyes, to throw him towards a table, finishing destroying it and maybe breaking his back with that since it was made of wood, even Peter felt that pain.

Um, I think you're going too far said the arachnid, somewhat worried about the man. He may be a criminal, but he doesn't deserve such torture from the woman.

-Let me take care of this, spider- She said without taking her eyes off the thug who was writhing in pain-You watch out if some idiot comes to the place...

Spider-Man could only see the disaster he had caused; several guys and some waiters on the floor writhing in pain or stuck to the walls at the expense of the spider. These guys were nothing to either of them, and if they had any kind of information, then they had to act... but he didn't share the same. methods as the detective, of course.

"Look, to be honest, I knew this was wrong," Spider-Man said, pointing at her. "What's the point of finding out things if you're hurting all the possible suspects? You're just holding yourself back."

"Are you explaining to me how to do my own job?" Jessica hissed, standing in front of the spider. "You have no idea what atrocities these idiots have committed! First lesson: my way of working is bare-knuckle and making them suffer, very different from the rosy world you're pretending to believe in."

The arachnid was left thinking and maybe that is true, being a vigilante is an illegal job and it can cost you a few years in prison and more seeing that they normally operated in the underworld of crime, he remembered all the times he came across a container full of scared girls and boys being led by human trafficking gangs, this being a very traumatic memory for him seeing that he is only 16 years old, causing a mild trauma to the spider who was unable to sleep for several days after that.

"You're right, and I know it," Spidey said, grabbing, the detective's arm. She glared at him in anger at his boldness. "But we have to think with a cool head. Don't incapacitate these people any more than they already are. Let's interrogate one of them before the police arrive and we get into trouble, okay?"

The brunette stared hard at Peter, who gulped, hoping Jessica would at least heed her advice and not do anything stupid. Jessica abruptly pulled away from the arachnid's arm and turned around without taking her eyes off the young man.

"You're a pain in the ass, you know that?" the woman said, changing her expression back to normal without losing her characteristic coldness,

"They tell me that often," the arachnid replied, shrugging his shoulders. "It was a good method to distract his enemies."

She simply nodded, walking over to the injured thug and grabbing him by the collar, lifting him off the ground. She slammed him against the wall this time without breaking any bones, and began her interrogation.

"Okay, buddy, you only have one option to get out of here unscathed; tell me everything you know," Jessica threatened, and the guy growled.

-... S-Suck my balls, you damn bitch. - At that, Jessica gritted her teeth, then clicked her tongue and gave a tight smile.

-Tell me, how do you want me to wash that mouth? With detergent or by ripping out your tongue? The detective said, bringing her face closer to the man who just smiled and spat in her face, staining it slightly with blood.-NOW I'LL FINISH YOU, YOU DAMN...!!!

Spiderman held Jessica's fist without any problem making her stop and look at him in an animalistic way seeing that her eyes were dilated with anger, the boy only made gestures for her to calm down and approached the subject.

"Look, buddy, I don't have all night, and I really have to go," Spidey said, pointing his finger at the guy's face. "You're going to tell us everything you know about... what was the crazy guy's name?"

"Hammerhead," Jessica said dryly, with her usual cold gaze.

"Male-head," Spidey said, snapping his finger. The woman scrunched up her face at the bad joke, and the guy groaned, annoyed that his boss was being insulted. "You'll tell us everything, or at least something useful."

"Why would I do that?" the man said breathlessly as he felt Jessica's hand squeeze him.

Spidey just pointed at him. "Because if you don't, I'll walk away and leave you alone with her."

The boy concluded by pointing at Jessica who began to acquire a demonic appearance with a devilish smile and even horns through the fearful eyes of the subject who looked at Spidey who had angel wings on his back and a ring flying above his head.

"YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME ALONE WITH THIS CRAZY WOMAN!" He exclaimed, extremely scared.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't," Spidey said, arms crossed.

OK!!! Okay...I'll talk...just don't leave me with that lunatic... The scared thug said and took a deep breath to calm down.

-Okay, then tell us what you know and we'll leave you alone - Peter spoke calmly, calming the guy down a bit.

You heard him, speak up already - Jessica said, crossing her arms and looking at the guy who nodded quickly.

-Ugh... - The subject groaned before swallowing and proceeding to speak.- H-Hammerhead has many connections throughout the city... One of his main points is Manhattan where he has a base of clandestine operations there.

"What kind of activities do you have there?" Jessica asked, grabbing the hair guy's head.

-Ugha... clandestine gambling, drugs, prostitution, t-everything that generates profit in the end. The subject muttered and looked into Spider-Man's "eyes." - You don't know what you're up against, H-Hammerhead will be looking for your heads sooner or later.

Before the spider could say anything, Jessica spoke again. "Where in Manhattan does he have that base?"

-...N-Near Hoboken.- The guy concluded, and Jessica, who already knew she had everything she needed, knocked the guy out in his nerve spot behind his neck.

Then the police sirens started to approach, making Spidey and Jessica quickly leave the place, the spider shot one last web at the broken window and the guy passed out in front of it so he couldn't escape, it was... It was a really interesting night.

Later.

In an alley, Jessica Jones was leaning against the wall with her hands in her jacket pockets. Her expression was bored, and she was a little far from the restaurant where the police were in charge of arresting Hammerhead's thugs. The woman sighed heavily, seeing that Peter was taking so long to change out of his civilian clothes.

"Is she a girl who needs to dress up or something?" Jessica said with some hesitation.

Just then, Peter descended from the roof of a building with a spider web and gracefully landed on the ground. The woman rolled her eyes at that and approached the boy. His boots were the sound of the lonely alley.

Oof, ready, sorry for the delay, I had to send a message to a friend Peter said, not wanting to give Ned's name to the detective.

"Yeah, yeah," Jessica Jones said, not at all impressed, making Peter pout a little. "I don't mind that you had to text your boyfriend, but anyway, good job, tights. I have to admit... for a rookie, you did well."

"Ahhh, I knew it would touch your heart," Peter said, half-mockingly, and the detective snorted again.

"Hal Heart of stone, I have no feelings." The detective said, rolling her eyes. "Not when you're in this line of work."

"...How so?" Peter asked, standing next to the woman who looked out at the dark street with mixed feelings about the question.

"The life of being a vigilante or my line of work forces you to see things that require nerves of steel," Jessica said, sighing. "You're only 16 years old and you have a lifetime ahead of you. When you reach a certain age, you'll realize that beyond the global threats that the Avengers fight, there are things darker than you can imagine; arms trafficking, drugs, human trafficking, all in the same world. What I want to tell you in summary is the following: if you're going to dedicate yourself to fighting crime and continue your life as a vigilante, I hope you're prepared for what you're going to see in the future."

Peter seriously thought about those words said by the detective, he knew of somewhat gloomy stories on the internet about Daredevil and he knew well of the evils that surround the world and perhaps Jessica is the clear example. that the world is disgusting seeing the way she works which he respected a lot, so he nodded determined that it didn't matter if he had to see many bad things, nothing in the world would stop him from doing good.

"I'll take what you tell me into account," Peter said seriously, although he was somewhat nervous inside. "Now that we know where Hammerhead's main base is, we'll have to go there..."

Yes...which will be tomorrow, I'll take a look in case that guy lied and gave me a false address - Jessica spoke suspiciously - If it's true, I'll call you so we can put an end to his drug and weapons sales....

-Cool, it will be exciting - says Peter with a smile.

"Take it seriously, kid. Are you excited when those idiots shoot you in the head?" the woman asked, raising an eyebrow and looking at the brunette, who shook his head. "I thought so."

Peter laughed in an embarrassed manner, but then a text message brought him out of his state of sadness and into one of confusion. He then took out his phone and read the message on the screen, his face became expressionless with a noticeable pallor, Jessica saw this change of emotions, intrigued.

"Hey, did something happen?" the detective asked, running a hand over Peter's face. Standing next to him, she saw a message that almost made her laugh. "Wow, that's some fucking luck..."

The message read:

"You know, if you were going to ditch me to fight crime, you should have told me. I hope when you get home you know you're in trouble, kiddo, and you better have a good explanation, because otherwise you'll wish you were dead by the time I get my hands on you."

-Heh, you're alone, kid. - Jessica said, unconsciously ruffling the brunette's hair.

While she laughed to herself, he may have been a local hero and all, but Spider-Man was literally still a teenager with representatives looking out for him, honestly it was all kind of funny if you asked him.

-D-Dammit. I have to go, ehh, it was great interrogating those guys and...call me if anything else happens Peter said somewhat hastily to unconsciously give Jessica a quick kiss on the cheek, much to her surprise, and she was going to protest but he already ran away.

The brunette stood there, processing what had just happened. She touched her cheek where Peter had given her that small kiss, and she didn't know how to feel at that moment. She should be mad at Peter for being such a daredevil, but for some reason, she couldn't bring herself to be angry.

What a night tonight was. Jessica sighed, coming out of the trance she was in, looked for a few seconds in the direction the brunette had gone, then turned to take another route back to her apartment. She had a lot to investigate all night and learn more about that base the thug mentioned. Although the scene of Peter kissing her kept coming back to her.

The woman sneered to change her expression to a serious one and the only thought was one thing.

"Stupid hormonal teenagers"

Queens, 1:01am.

-"I'm dead" -Peter thought because at the same time he arrived through the window of his room,

There was May Parker with a cup of coffee in her warm hand and a serious look, especially because next to her were a flip-flop and a belt..

"When I found out you're the Spider-Boy who saved everyone, I had two reactions: happiness, seeing that you were doing something good, and fear, knowing that you were putting your life in danger." May explained, seeing her nephew sitting on his knees in front of her. "So, I want you to explain to me why you and Ned saw my stupid face. Let's see, I want to hear."

Peter is a big boy, a boy who in a few years would be 18 and at that age could have a driver's license, in addition to being SpiderMan, and being a hero from Queens who faced evildoers and dangerous criminals, so being the great hero that he is, he responded in the most mature way possible.

- Please don't kill mel - Peter exclaimed, prostrating his forehead on the ground. The scene was as if it were a slave worshipping a goddess or a criminal begging for forgiveness before the most powerful being in the world. -I shouldn't have lied to you the way I did! It wasn't my intention! It was just my daily dose of luck, Parker, that suddenly attacked.

"Couldn't you just be honest with me and tell me you're going out on patrol like you always do?!" May asks, raising her voice. It's clear she's upset with her nephew for lying to her.

-I-I'm sorry, and I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to worry you and ruin dinner, that's all. - Peter said, his gaze on the ground, feeling nervous.

He can't tell her what he's really involved in, and if he told her the truth about fighting mafia members alongside an unknown woman who was extremely strong, if May found out, she might faint, or worse, she'd ban him from going. out as Spider-Man forever, so he'd have to come up with an excuse for why he's coming in at this late hour.

"Now, young man, are you going to tell me why the hell you're here at this hour?" the woman demanded seriously, and Peter gulped, wondering what to say to her.

-1... there was an organized robbery and... it was in a museum... it was difficult to stop them because they had heavy weapons and I had to explain to the police what happened. That's why it took me so long -Peter lies credibly- I even helped someone search for their cat on the rooftops.

"Did a cat take you several hours to get to dinner?" May asked with a white face.

Maybe it sounded more convincing in his head.

"And an organized robbery too! There are still dangerous people on the streets, even with Toomes' guns!" Peter exclaimed, cold sweat running down his forehead.

Silence fell in the boy's room. Peter knew there were two possible fates: either his aunt believed him, or she said it was all "a lie made up of the most disgusting shit in the world." He didn't know which would be his final outcome, but maybe his aunt would be understanding, and everything. would turn out all right..

SLAP.

"Let this be the last time you lie to me like that!" May roared, getting up after. smacking Peter in the face with her flip-flop. Peter was lying dead on the ground with a sandal print all over his right cheek. "Because if you lie to me again, I'll use that suit as a garbage bag!"

He concluded by closing the door with a slam that echoed throughout the room.

-"It had to be my luck..." Peter thought on the ground after having experienced something he hadn't felt since he was a child, the wrath of the flip-flop in his face was something he would never wish on his worst enemies.

Peter gets up from the floor and changes into his pajamas to go to sleep. He's very tired, and tomorrow is Sunday. He's supposed to have nothing to do, which would mean spending more time as Spiderman and helping Jessica.

Other than that, he wouldn't have any more problems with his aunt. Without knowing about the mafia and Hammerhead, everything would be fine. He fell for her lie, which was good. But tomorrow he'd have to wait for the detective's call, and he wondered what she was doing right now.

-I don't know who's scarier, my aunt or Jessica, although I'd prefer the latter-Peter said to himself as he lay down in bed and turned off the light in his room to close his eyes and fall asleep.

Hell' Kitchen 1:20 am.

In Jessica's apartment, we see her sitting at a table, typing some things into her laptop. Specifically, the location that the thug gave her about Hammerhead's main base.

"Hmmm..." Jessica said mentally as she drank her fourth beer of the night.

-What an interesting night... The detective muttered, closing her laptop and staring at the nothingness of her home. She really wasn't one for having assistants or a Robin like in those ridiculous hero comics that Peter surely read.

She lightly touched her cheek, remembering the small kiss the brunette had given her, being a bit daring in doing so. I mean, he's only 16 years old and he had the balls to kiss a woman like her, who was no stranger to a man's affection, but that was the first time she truly... felt true, pure, and sincere affection through that small peck on her cheek. Which is very strange.

"I'm giving myself a hard time over something, so stupid," Jessica snorted, taking off her shirt and throwing it and her pants to the floor. "I'm an adult.. shouldn't be thinking those kinds of things like a hormonal schoolgirl."

The woman, wearing a t-shirt and black panties, walked over to her bed and lay down. She covered herself with the sheets and turned off the light in her room, which was a total mess as if no one had cleaned it in days. It was a habit for Jessica to be like this. She tidied up her home from time to time, but because of her work as a detective, she didn't have time to even watch television or do anything she liked. Although she didn't have anything special to do, she sighed tiredly and stared at the ceiling for a few seconds.

-Damn...I hope I don't have to receive another kiss from that idiot...because otherwise I'll regret it- Jessica said to herself without taking her eyes off the ceiling.

Despite being absent-minded and an idiot, he had a good heart. Technically, the world didn't deserve it, and people who wanted to damage that light of hope would pay dearly for it.

What the hell was she talking about? Now Jessica was having delirium, and I think the beer was affecting her head.

"What stupidity..." The serious woman muttered.

Hammerhead's Lair, 2:30 am.

-"What do you mean, they destroyed another one of my businesses?!" Hammerhead roared, hitting his desk, creating a slight "CRACK" due to the force he implemented in his blow.

-'Yes sir, and several of our people were locked up, the person on the other end of the line said with some nervousness.

-WHO THE HELL WERE THE ONES WHO MEDDLED NOW?!

-'Um... According to my informants, it was Jessica Jones and Spider-Man again who destroyed Toomes' business."

Hearing that, Hammerhead stared into space with a poker face, the caller on the other line began to sweat cold as his boss began to laugh maniacally without stopping while listening at the same time as this laughter changed to a roar worthy of the biggest monster in the world and how it destroyed his office with loud bangs and breaking glass.

-This is complete bullshit!!! What else have you found out? SPEAK!!! -shouted the last part, trying to contain the anger I felt at that moment.

-Uhh...well...one of ours revealed his main base where he has all the drugs and weapons...both of you know, sir-said the guy, extremely afraid of his boss's reaction,

That was the final straw, and Hammerhead grabbed a shelf, smashing it to pieces. Like a wild animal, he destroyed everything in his office, leaving only. rubble, like a tornado. It was incredible what was happening.

WRECKLESS, I SWEAR I'LL KILL HIM IF I FIND HIM!!! COULDN'T YOU SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH?!!! The mobster exclaimed, shouting angrily.

"So what do we do now, sir?" the thug's trembling voice asks.

"You're saying he revealed the location, right?" Hammerhead said, a little calmer. This wasn't the time to get angry and destroy things; he had to plan his next move.

-That's right, boss the guy replied.

-Okay... then tell the others to prepare all the weapons and drug shipments to transport them to another place - Hammerhead said seriously -

-Bu-But sir, what happens if she...

"That bitch, when she gets here she won't find anything but a few cases of beer and I'm sure she'll like my welcome gift," Hammerhead said mockingly, imagining Jones' reaction upon learning that everything would soon be empty.

-'S-Sure sir, I-I'll let the boys know...'- Said the man, then hung up the call and left a calm but angry Hammerhead, who from the destroyed desk, only took out a bottle of whiskey which miraculously was saved from being destroyed.

The mobster simply opened the bottle and began to drink it straight from the bottle, stopping to dry his lips and sigh comfortingly.

"I won't let that nosy bitch and that cursed spider interfere with my plans," he said, smiling Machiavellianly. "Because if they interfere in my business again... there will be blood, and it will rain blood."
