Chapter 107 - Chapter 108: Take Off, Kryptonian!

Chapter 108: Take Off, Kryptonian!

Xi Nian was a little dazed.

The person who had just appeared before him was none other than his junior, Kara Danvers.

But this Kara wasn't dressed like she usually was.

She wore the exact same suit as Superman. A deep-blue top clung to her youthful body, the proud chest marked with the bold "S" family crest. Below that was a bright red battle skirt falling just above her knees. Her long legs were wrapped snugly in shining black stockings, ending in dark red boots.

"Senior Xi Nian, how do I look like this?" Supergirl blinked playfully, her beautiful face softer and more confident than ever.

Behind her, her golden-blonde hair streamed free in the sunlight, each strand shimmering as though tipped with platinum, flowing with the wind like the aura of a young goddess.

"Beautiful," Xi Nian breathed sincerely. Then, realizing something, he asked in surprise, "You're… a Kryptonian?"

"Yes." Kara nodded gently, her eyes filled with sorrow. "Superman… he was actually my cousin. He and I are the last two Kryptonians in existence."

"You're Superman's… cousin?" Xi Nian felt his understanding of the world shift, but he quickly pushed it aside. Now wasn't the time for family discussions.

He glanced down at the silver bracelet on his wrist, glowing with golden light, then looked back at Kara seriously. "Right now, in Metropolis, there's a battle happening. Do you know about it?"

"Of course. I was heading there to fight. You were right before—since Kal is gone, I must take up the mantle as Supergirl!" Kara's voice was resolute.

Xi Nian was speechless. He'd only meant to comfort her before. He never thought she truly was a Kryptonian.

Kara smiled faintly. "I left home and passed over the school, then I saw you and Gwen at the stairwell. A little bold, weren't you?"

"That was… necessary," Xi Nian coughed awkwardly, then straightened, his tone solemn. "Take me with you. My aunt is there. I have to fight too!"

He thought she would refuse.

But instead, Kara answered without hesitation, "Alright!"

Xi Nian froze.

Then Kara leaned in close, floating lightly off the ground, and pressed her lips softly against his.

It was brief, inexperienced, but deliberate.

"I haven't even begun to give up. This is only the start of my fight!" Kara declared with calm confidence, her platinum hair and red cape whipping in the wind.

Xi Nian barely heard her.

His lips tingled, warmth spreading through his body—then in the next instant, it felt like lightning exploded inside him, ripping through every fiber of his being.

The genetic power of a Kryptonian overwhelmed him instantly, stronger than any mutant, symbiote, or even the blessing of a Greek demigod.

Normally, when Xi Nian carried two different powers, they would amplify and merge into a new hybrid state.

But this time was different.

Even though he already held Spider powers, the domineering Kryptonian genes seized control, pushing Spider Mode into the background. Instead of competing, Spider Mode instinctively shifted to a supportive role, weaving invisible threads to help his body bear this crushing might.

This was the power of a Kryptonian.

One of the greatest physiques in the universe.

Superman Mode.

For the first time, Xi Nian felt truly omnipotent—

He could see the entire sprawl of Washington at once. He could peer through the bodies of people on the street, hearing their lungs and bones. He could catch the roar of a jet engine miles away, or the faint crawling of an ant on a rooftop nearby.

He could sense the city for kilometers in every direction.

Xi Nian knew omnipotence was an illusion. But at this moment, he felt that even if God himself appeared, he could pin Him down and crush Him.

Under normal circumstances, gaining Kryptonian powers would have torn him apart on the spot.

But his Spider physiology restrained it, spinning unseen webs inside him, binding and balancing the rampaging energy.

"Incredible… even the power of my people can be inherited this way?" Kara's eyes sparkled in shock. Her first thought was—if so, then Kryptonians could rebuild their bloodline on Earth.

Xi Nian didn't hear her thoughts. He flexed his arm, and his shirt shredded apart, revealing muscles as hard as forged steel.

"Try this," Kara said, taking his hand.

At once, Xi Nian felt a strong, gentle force envelop him, like being coated in invisible glue.

He understood instinctively. Holding her delicate hand tighter, he released his own energy, merging with hers into one seamless field.

"This is our bio-field," Kara explained. "It's the source of our strength, a type of energy. Used properly, we can punch through a mountain or just carve a doorway. It can make our bodies tougher than steel or as soft as an ordinary human's."

"I see. Then let's go to the battlefield," Xi Nian said, exhaling sharply. At that moment, a cold wind swept the rooftop.

"Then—take off," Kara smiled, floating half a meter above the rooftop with ease.

"How do I fly?" Xi Nian asked curiously.

"As long as you believe you can, you will," Kara said, flashing a confident smile.

Just as dolphins are born to swim and horses are born to run, Kryptonians on Earth are born to fly.

"Imagination? That's one thing I'm good at," Xi Nian muttered. In the next instant, his body lifted lightly into the air like a balloon.

"Let's go!" Kara grasped his hand.

"Yes. Let's go." Xi Nian inhaled deeply and focused.

The air shattered around them as their bodies launched skyward. Like twin rockets, they soared thousands of meters high, breaking the sound barrier as they shot toward Metropolis.
