After Donna did the roll call, they gradually moved to an auspicious hall for one of the most important events when enrolling in Lock—getting a weapon.
While Bellie could shapeshift into a sword, it was quite archaic and inefficient one could say. Any damage that the sword endured, chip or a crack, Bellie too would experience the pain.
Moreover, the sword represented Bellie's rank, while an E ranked sword was mighty, it still paled in comparison to the swords displayed here—whuch varied from E to D rank.
Lucas wandered around the room, his palms tracing the glass enclosures, he was unsure of what to choose. His fingers rapped the glass containing the sword with hesitation.
In the end, he narrowed it down to give swords.
A Gladius, a Bastard sword, a Longsword, a Katana and an Odachi.
While Lucas had a soft preference for an Odachi, due to its impressive structure and fearsome reach. It still wasn't very practical, he was 5'6 and the blade was more than half his height.
It was hard to handle, and it was quite simple to disarm him. No, the Odachi couldn't be chosen.
A Katana on the other hand provided exactly what he was looking for. It's curved edge allowed for smooth motions and due to it being lightweight it allowed Lucas to handle it with ease.
But the problem lay in the fact that a katana was simply unfit, the Gravar Style couldn't pair with it. Its lightweightedness was a flaw in the Gravar Style's harsh and ferocious attacks which demanded weight.
So regrettably, Lucas had no choice but to discard the katana.
The Gladius was perfect for close quarters combat due to its small and compact size. It's stabbing ability far surpassed any other blades and in a tight fight it could be lightning fast. But it had the same problem as the katana, it was too light to be able to effectively demonstrate the Gravar Style.
That left the longsword and the bastard sword.
The longsword had the same problem as the odachi, the blade's length made it hard to handle.
Finally, Lucas decided upon a bastard sword.
The blades stretched just over three feet. It was a double-edged length of steel that had a tapering point for both thrusting and cutting.
It's fuller ran clean down the center. The hilt was long and wrapped in a dark leather to give room for one hand or two, ending in a pointed pommel of derk steel. A straight crossguard flared outwards.
It was a simple sword, but one much better than what Lucas had on hand.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Lucas lightly swung the bastard sword, it rested perfectly in his arms, balanced and light. Its weight was neither too heavy nor too light.
"Perfect." Lucas muttered with satisfaction.

A large expanse of land appeared before Lucas's eyes, the training arena was truly a vast expanse of land.
The whole training facility was around the size of three football fields by his estimates. Lucas's gaze then wandered to the dozen training dummies at his sides.
If he remembered right, those dummies could withstand A or S rank attacks. 'It would be pretty funny if the training dummy broke after one of my attacks and I turn out to be a once in a generation genius.'
Lucas thought with a chuckle.
"Alright, as I told you before since it's your first day you don't need to force yourself. I'll be here to supervise you all."
Gathering's everyone attention Donna happily smiled as she looked at the training ground. She paused before continuing with slight vigour, "Now go and train! Time waits for no one"
Instantly everyone moved. Some directly went to the dummies, while others towards the shooting range.
Lucas curiously looked around and found the main protagonists—Kevin, Jin, and Melissa heading for the training dummies, while Emma directly went towards the gravity room.
On the other hand, Amanda made her way towards the shooting range. Lucas grew slightly jealous, their talent were far above his. For every hour Lucas trained, they could achieve the same result within 20 minutes.
They were truly bless by the heavens.
Lucas had to pour in his blood, sweat and tears just to achieve what they could do in minutes. Oh the world was truly unfair.
But soon, Lucas scoffed. What was going on through his mind.
What use was there in staring at their prowess? Their brilliance wouldn't help him, only his own persistence, will and sweat. Their achievements wouldn't lift him up a single step.
"Train, refine and endure, until now one can stand above me, ain't that right Goat Yuan?." Lucas muttered to himself as he joined Ren in the middle arena.

A/N - Short chapter but what can I say, my exams are going on and I'm failing each and every one of them 😭 😭
Also a person asked me to start a server where I post updates and ask for ideas and shit. I've been pondering about it, and I realised idk what to do. This novel ain't that famous and it ain't that good to start an entire discord server.
So I've decided to ask you guys. Should I start one of nah, and don't feel pressured to say yes because you think saying no would make you a bad person.
I might drop an extra chapters tomorrow tho, depends on how many chocolates I've eaten lol.
