Chapter 2 - Anything For The Sake of Power Ahh

"What are you?!" A long black haired youth asked, his face a mixture of seething rage and fury, glancing at the tinman in front of him ticked Lucas off.

"A clanker…" The robot whimpered out as Lucas kicked him, releasing his G- rank aura, Lucas continued his verbal assault.

"An idiot clanker!" Lucas yelled.

The crowd swelled, hearing his words, pressing shoulder to shoulder. Faces tilted towards the commotion, as mouths parted in awe, arms jutted upwards as phones were raised, capturing each minute detail.

Lucas on the other hand, did not care in the slightest, "You're nothing but a no good oil guzzling, job stealing, wireback clanker!" He cried, his voice high.

Lucas had been frustrated all day long, after recently awakening two months back, he worked hard to compensate for his E grade talent but what was hard work in front of talent.

An E grade talent, in the end would still be an E grade talent.

A kind woman, chancing upon the growing situation decided to step in, her brown hair flowed past her shoulders as she arrived near Lucas.

"Sir, I think you should step away from the robot, it didn't do anything wrong." She tried to defuse the situation as Lucas clicked his tongue.

"Look at what you've done, making these good people believe I am the one causing trouble. You no good silver, number crunching clanker!" Lucas squealed, before twisting his leg and kicking the silver robot.

Its metal scraped against the tarred ground as it was sent aside, clattering softly, it let out a few small beeps as the face on the screen changed.

From a scared and ashamed one, to one that was in tears.

Upon seeing the scene the woman gasped, her eyes turned aggressive as she pointed a finger at him. "Sir! Stop assaulting the robot! You robophobic trash!" She screeched.

Hearing her words, Lucas's eyes widened, "I'm robophobic? Oh you got it all wrong, I'm not robophobic, this clanker over here bumped into me and sent me hurtling against the ground!" He shouted against the noise.

Lucas glanced at the slightly slighted crowd.

"Look at that man."

"Listen honey, never be like him, robots are our friends." One mother advised her nascent child.

"How pathetic must your life have to be for you to be robophobic?" A woman questioned from the crowd.

Lucas was taken aback, he nervously waved his hands, and tried to explain himself.

"Hey, hey, hey, I'm not robophobic, I own an airfryer!"

"..."

Lucas walked close to Rayback Park, a park in Conviction City. The novel had mentioned that this city housed Gravar Style...

Well they didn't mention this city specifically, no instead they mentioned a city close to the orcs domain—there were two other cities in proximity to the Orc's domain but none were the resting place of a certain Elizabeth Arialla Gravar.

From the day he transmigrated—four years back, Lucas spent his entire time researching the place where Gravar Style was.

And he narrowed it down to this place, it hadn't taken long to find out it was Conviction City. But the exact place had given him some trouble, most of the information wasn't recorded and the ones which were? They were hidden in the backrooms of libraries.

Rayback Park was the place where Brock Gravar had his wedding, had a memorial to honour his wife built here and visited this park everyday, six years before his death.

Now, the only question that remained was where he had hidden the location of his sword art?

"Big day…big day for ya Lu." A raspy voice echoed in his mind slowly, as Lucas nodded. "Yeah Bellie, so close and yet….so far." He uttered quietly.

"Haha, you don't need to worry Lu, if you want to increase your talent…sign a contract!" He announced with a slight laugh, "The terms will be quite favourable…..what you don't trust me? Why would I create unbearable terms for my bestie?"

Lucas sighed softly, Bellie or rather Belphegor was a demon. Yeah demon demon, the ones humanity and the other races were fighting right now.

They crossed paths a few years ago when Lucas was returning, injured from training he stumbled upon a small white haired demon.

His body was covered in black with a black line which extended from his chest to his chin, with two lines crossed over his red eyes. The demon had two bat-like wings, two ram-like horns, a long thin tail with trident-like tip, pointed teeth, and clawed fingers and toes.

He was quite small too, about Lucas's age—ten. Instead of killing him or reporting him to anyone, Lucas quickly grasped the benefits of hiding him—a powerful ally who could help him increase his talent.

That itself was worth far more than any praise he would receive or medal he would get. Calculating the risk, Lucas saved the little runt—who became his companion and his most trusted confidant.

What did he get in return? A loudmouth who kept yapping about accepting Demon Contracts, which Lucas wasn't opposed to.

"Hmm, with your powers it'll be convenient to hide my stained aura, but not now, maybe after this." Lucas whispered softly while roaming the park as Bellie let out a sigh, "Yeah, yeah whateve—wait! Did you just accept?"

He asked incredulously, his body was now erect and upright as he stood up in momentary surprise. Lucas hummed softly, accepting his words before continuing his search.
