"Did he say anything else?" Xu Fu asked.
"No, he said he wanted to talk to you face-to-face," Starlight replied. "I don't think it's a big deal. We can start now but…"
She leaned in with a sly smile.
"Hehe, but right now isn't the right time…"
Xu Fu was about to enjoy those glowing eyes a little longer when—

"Master, someone's outside the door," Monday reported. After Starlight arrived, Monday had returned to his electronic form and was now projecting an alert toward the entrance.
"This boiled egg… speak of the devil and he appears," Xu Fu said casually.
A boiled egg—no, Director Fury.
Starlight looked toward the projection. The visitor was indeed none other than the one-eyed Nick Fury.
Xu Fu had already sensed the man's presence long before Monday announced it.
At this point, Fury didn't dare send subordinates to Xu Fu. Under normal circumstances, he had to come in person.
That alone was a sign of respect.
Xu Fu wasn't just powerful—his identity carried weight. In this world, there was still structure; strength alone didn't dictate everything. And Xu Fu's strength was something people simply couldn't contend with.
"Monday, let him in."
"Yes, Master."
The courtyard door opened, and moments later, Nick Fury walked into the inner hall.
He spotted Xu Fu and nodded. "Brother Xu, sorry to intrude."
"Director Fury, you must've been waiting for me quite a while," Xu Fu said with a faint smile. "Come to my living room."
"Miss Starlight." Fury greeted her politely before following Xu Fu. Starlight didn't come with them—she knew this wasn't the kind of conversation she should join.
In the Living Room
Xu Fu sat at the coffee table and motioned for Fury to take the seat opposite him.
"Director Fury, what brings you here this time?" he asked.
For Fury to arrive this quickly, he'd probably been stationed nearby for a while. He likely came the moment he felt Xu Fu return—if he had arrived earlier, Xu Fu would've been fishing in outer space and Fury would've waited endlessly.
Fury took out a photo from his pocket.
"Brother Xu… you should know this being—Swallowing Stars, the Planet Devourer."
Since becoming director of the reorganized Heavenly Sword Bureau, Fury had gained access to more cosmic intelligence. Not long ago, a secret report noted a surge of Star-Devourer-level energy—coinciding perfectly with the moment Xu Fu teleported away.
Xu Fu narrowed his eyes as Fury handed him the photo.
It was taken from outer space—mostly darkness, with faint starlight. But in the upper left corner, a blazing light outlined a figure confronting an enormous humanoid face.
"As far as we know," Fury said slowly, "that face is the Planet Devourer—the universe's creator god. And… this person facing him looks a little familiar?"
Xu Fu chuckled. "Not bad. Since the reorganization, the Heavenly Sword Bureau is really moving up in the world."
At that moment, Monday—who had been trying hard to restrain himself—finally couldn't hold back. His holographic form appeared in the center of the room.
He pointed at Fury dramatically.
"Black braised egg! Your reorganized Heavenly Sword Bureau is still this useless? Taking a photo and all you managed was my master's BACK? Not even a frontal shot? What a waste of my master's handsome, invincible face across the universe!"
Monday really did sound like a mix of Tony Stark plus ten years of internet slang.
Fury stiffened at the nickname "black braised egg." He instantly realized Xu Fu must call him that in private—but Fury didn't dare show the slightest irritation. After all, even the dog's owner had to be respected.
He also didn't know that Monday would've mocked him even if Xu Fu didn't exist—and behind Monday was an even scarier "group."
Monday wasn't finished.
With a flourish, he projected a full video.
First scene:A silver figure riding a white-light surfboard—the Silver Surfer—flashed across the screen, only to be pinned down instantly by one touch of Xu Fu's finger.
Then the footage switched to Xu Fu battling the Devourer of Planets. At first, the Planet Devourer appeared massive, his face spanning a whole world. But the longer they fought, the smaller he became… shrinking and shrinking until he vanished in a puff of smoke.
His dignity as the supreme god of the universe? Gone.
"See? This captures Master's true handsome, godlike presence!" Monday declared proudly, and since Starlight wasn't here, he didn't even try to hide his fanboy levels of flattery.
"Ahem. Monday, tone it down. That's Director Fury." Xu Fu shook his head. "And besides… I didn't kill or capture the Planet Devourer. What are you so proud of?"
Fury had been silent this whole time. Finally, he bowed his head slightly.
"…Understood. Thank you, Your Excellency Xu."
Xu Fu smiled. "Director Fury, won't you stay for tea?"
Fury stood up. "Your Excellency Xu, there's nothing else I need for now. Thank you for your time."
"I'll walk you out," Xu Fu replied, also rising.
In the Courtyard
As they reached the outer walkway, Fury suddenly stopped.
"Your Excellency Xu," he said quietly, "the terrifying surge of energy that appeared in New City before—the kind that could've annihilated the entire city in an instant… do you know anything about it?"
He had been haunted by that burst of power ever since.
The Heavenly Sword Bureau had investigated thoroughly. No known technology or individual could produce that magnitude of force. After Xu Fu left for outer space, the Bureau detected no more occurrences of it.
Xu Fu raised an eyebrow.
"The energy that could destroy New City in one instant…" He smiled faintly. "Of course I know that power."
He paused, then added:
"Director Fury… how would you feel if I told you that was less than one percent of my strength?"
