Director Fury's expression changed instantly. He turned sharply toward Xu Fu, completely shaken—he never expected to hear something so terrifying so casually.
"Director Fury," Xu Fu said with a light smile, "I was joking. Be careful on your way out—the road may not be smooth."
But Fury wasn't convinced at all. He stared deeply at Xu Fu, then slowly walked out.
Inside, Fury didn't believe those words were a joke—at least not fully.There was truth hidden beneath Xu Fu's casual tone.
A power that could bombard the New City—Fury believed it now. That power belonged solely to Xu Fu.
At this moment, Xu Fu had become completely unfathomable to him—like a man forever wrapped in a mist he could never see through.
It's fine, he thought. This guy just likes… fishing everywhere.
Fury finally left Xu Fu's villa district and stepped into a waiting car.
"Director, what happened?" Danvers asked from the driver's seat.
"What happened?" Fury took a deep breath. "Everything is… normal."
"Normal?" Danvers raised a brow slightly.
Fury nodded. "Let's head back."
"Yes, sir," Danvers replied.
As far as Fury was concerned, everything he learned from Xu Fu today would remain locked inside his heart. If he placed information like that into the Heavenly Sword Bureau, it would only bring danger.
Asgard — Divine Realm
Inside the palace, Thor stood respectfully before his father, Woden.
"Father, Thor has come to accept whatever punishment is due," he said solemnly.
From Thor's perspective, he had committed treason by leading forces without authorization—and should face judgment.
"Thor, I understand," Woden said gently. "But this is not your fault. In the end, the Dark Elves' ambitions were crushed. The people of the Nine Kingdoms know the truth. Because of you, they survived this catastrophe."
"Father, it wasn't just me," Thor replied. "Everyone contributed."
But the truth was clear: without Brother Xu Fu, the Dark Elves' bombardment of the Nine Kingdoms would never have been stopped. Thor alone could not have blocked them. If things had gone wrong, Thor would be responsible.
Woden shook his head. "Thor, let this matter rest. As my son, it is time for you to inherit the throne of the God King of Asgard."
Woden had long intended to pass the throne on.But Thor had always refused.
This time, though—Thor had saved the Nine Realms. More than ever, he was qualified to take the crown.
"Father… I don't want to be the King of the Immortal Palace." Thor took a slow breath. "A king must know when to yield and how to maintain balance. I do not know these things. Even Loki… may be more suited to be king than I."
"Thor… is this truly how you feel?" Woden asked quietly.
"Yes, Father. This is my true heart."
"…Very well, Thor," Woden said, disappointment flickering in his eyes.
Thor's refusal struck him deeply.
"Father," Thor said softly, lifting Mjölnir in his palm. "If I cannot be King… then perhaps I should return this hammer."
"Thor, keep it. It belongs to you," Woden said.
"Thank you, Father." Thor bowed.
Then Woden asked, "Thor… what is the situation with the Aether Particles?"
"Father, that is what I wished to explain." Thor hurriedly added, "The destruction of the Dark Elves was largely thanks to Brother Xu Fu."
"Brother Xu Fu? Xu Fu…" Woden murmured, recalling the fierce cosmic battle he had glimpsed not long ago through the void.
"Yes, Father. Xu Fu holds the Aether Particles now. With them in his palm, I believe the treasure will remain peaceful."
"I understand," Woden nodded. "If the particles are in Xu Fu's hands, then all will be secure."
"Then Thor will take his leave," Thor said reverently.
As Thor turned away, Woden suddenly said softly, "Thor… you are my pride. I simply cannot say these words to you directly."
Thor paused for a moment, then quietly walked out of the hall.
The vast hall fell silent.
Then—
Woden's figure began to blur.Flickering.Distorting.
Until the "Woden" sitting on the throne transformed—into another man entirely.
A man everyone knew.
Loki.
He had not died in the Dark Elves' realm at all.He had returned from the Dark Realm—and taken Woden's place.
"Thor… my dear brother," Loki murmured, eyes gleaming with triumph. "I truly must thank you."
But then—his smile faded.
"The Aether falling into Xu Fu's hands… that is troublesome."
He tapped his scepter lightly on the ground.
No one else saw.
Syracuse Commonwealth
A Classified Experimental Facility
A square-shaped machine slowly opened as researchers worked around it. Inside lay a young man with a stern expression—his right arm entirely metal, gleaming with a cold, deadly shine.
An elderly man stepped forward, frowning with a complicated expression.
"My White Wolf Soldier… what state are you in now?"
"Commander, once the White Wolf Army is thawed, they will immediately be deployed to the frontlines," a scientist reported.
"Good… good." The old man nodded.
His expression hardened. "The world grows more unstable each day."
"But with the Prophet Project initiated… it won't be long before we bee seekers stand at the top of the world." His eyes burned with ambition.
This old man—was a Bee Seeker, a villainous faction in the Marvel world that had opposed the Heavenly Sword Bureau for many years.
If Fury had been here, he would've instantly recognized him.
