Ronan entered the living room, and everything looked unfamiliar. "Where is our bedroom?"
"The one on your left is your bedroom," Shael poured water for Ronan. "Do you want to take some rest?"
"My room?" Ronan countered with a question instead. "Are we living in separate rooms?"
"I live in my apartment that is pretty far away from here," Shael handed him the glass.
Ronan took a sip before returning. "You are my omega. Why are you living separately? Where are my shoes?" He looked around.
"I don't know either. I came to your place only once," Shael opened the door to the bedroom in search. "There might be a pair in the dressing room." He entered the dressing room whose door was connected to the bedroom. Ronan trailed behind.
"You came here only once?" Ronan tucked his hands into his pants.
"Yeah."
"But we slept together?" Ronan's eyes were fixed on Shael, who froze at his words and turned to him.
"Yeah, that was the time we... slept together."
"No wonder I delayed the task. Why wouldn't I bring him home?" Ronan wondered.
Shael took out a pair of slippers from the shoe rack that he noticed in the corner and placed it in front of Ronan.
"No need to go back to your place. How will you take care of me if you stay at a different place?" Ronan's tone was commanding.
It was something to be happy about, but Shael had this weird feeling, "What about my stuff?"
"Just buy new things you need," he glanced at the suits hanging in the mirrored cabins, "Let's go shopping tomorrow. I need to buy new clothes too."
Ronan slipped his right hand out of his pocket and scratched his right eyebrow. "Then I'm going to sleep."
He took two steps and stopped, at which Shael looked at him.
"Do you trust me?" Ronan asked, turning around.
"Of course I trust you, but why are you asking?"
[The current points are 70]
"Are you kidding me? I almost died for him," Ronan said in his head.
"Do you really trust me?"
"You are the only person I trust in this world." His words had strange heaviness.
"Let me ask again," Ronan walked closer, "Do you trust me completely?"
[69]
"Yes," Shael looked into his eyes, "I trust you more than I trust myself."
Ronan's squinted eyes dilated, "He is lying! Am I really left with the other option?" Ronan was looking straight into his eyes.

Ronan smirked. "His trust is this weak?" he thought. "Well, if giving up on my life can't gain his trust, then..." His breath trembled. "Still, that's too cruel! Let's just see a few more days. Maybe moving in together will help."
Ronan walked out and settled onto his bed.
Shael was left wondering, "Why would he ask me about trusting him out of nowhere?"
Ronan took out his phone. "Maybe we need to take our relationship to the next level, sleeping often together. Maybe we aren't close enough. After all, we slept together only once." He was lost in thoughts, typing on his cell phone's search engine.
"Sparkle CEO Ronan."
Articles about his dating, collaboration projects, and old scandals came up.
"I was involved in this many scandals?" he asked in his head.
[That's the original protagonist. Do you want to take a look at the novel's original plot?]
"Sure."
An invisible interface appeared, and Ronan went through the plot roughly.
"Forced abortion is not the end of the story. Is that really all I have to do?" Ronan asked as soon as he finished reading.
[The original protagonist will continue the story. You just have to complete your assigned tasks.]
Ronan closed his phone quickly as he noticed Shael entering the room.
"Are you sure it's a good idea to go shopping tomorrow? Your head is still wrapped in a bandage. You should rest some more," Shael said, placing Ronan's clothes onto the bed.
"Well, the bandage will be removed tomorrow. I am too tired of lying in the bed all day."
"Let me help you with the bath," Shael said, waiting for Ronan to stand up.
After the bath, Shael walked into the bedroom after placing the laundry, as he was done showering himself.
"Come here," Ronan's voice was as cold and rough as before.
Shael sat down on the bed in front of Ronan at his gesture. Ronan held his face and leaned in to kiss him, to which Shael snapped back.
Ronan straightened himself. "Why are you avoiding?"
"It's just... you feel unfamiliar, and everything... everything is awkward," Shael replied timidly.
"So you don't want to kiss me or even sleep with me until I get back my memories?" Ronan sounded sarcastic.
"No," Shael held onto Ronan's hands quickly, "You can kiss me whenever you want. I'm sorry for drawing back." Shael felt guilty for no reason.
"Then kiss me yourself," Ronan commanded.
Shael hesitated at first, and then he stretched out his arms, wrapping them around Ronan's neck, his lips too close to his face.
"He smells so good," Ronan thought.
"Ronan, I love you so much. I can do everything for you. It's just that it's hard for me to see you act like a person that I never met. But that doesn't change anything. I still love you, and I will always love you even if you don't remember anything."
"Then why don't you trust me?" Before he could think more, Shael's warm and soft lips touched his, Shael's body leaning above his. His tiny waist touched his sturdy packs.
Ronan was about to hold his waist, but before he could, Shael drew back.
"But can you just give me a little time to deal with my overwhelming emotions right now? 'Cause it's really hard for me," Shael's eyes brimmed with a few tears.
"Well, I don't want to stay away from you, so it's only this time. I might not hold myself back next time," Ronan said, slipping away at the bed and lying on one side.
"It's okay. I will not avoid your touch next time. I'm sorry if you did not like it," Shael looked at his back, his voice soft. "Where do I sleep?"
"On the bed with me, of course," Ronan turned around to look at Shael.
"Got it." Shael turned off the lights and slid beside him. He couldn't go to sleep and kept staring at Ronan's shadowed figure.
He softly held onto Ronan's shirt from behind and started sobbing slowly, thinking that he was already sleeping. Ronan heard him crying but pretended to be asleep.
"He clearly loves me, but why the hell doesn't he trust me?" Ronan closed his eyes to shake off all the thoughts.
