Chapter 25 - Trivia, Arrangements

Da da da.

Ina Sandra drummed her fingers on her desk, her beautiful, stern face filled with worry. Finally, looking at Luke, who was sitting across from her, using a tablet to work, she spoke helplessly, "Spaceflight? Do you know how many projects we've launched recently? How much funding has been allocated? How many people have been mobilized?"

"There's no other way. This is an urgent matter as it concerns our future safety and the future development of Heberon." Luke raised his head and looked at Ina Sandra, who looked helpless with him.

"It's just a few satellites. We can outsource them to others. Stark Industries already has satellite launch services and custom services," Ina Sandra advised. "I know you want Hybern to become a comprehensive industrial conglomerate, but time is running out. We've grown Hybern to its current size in just five years, which is incredible."

"Are there any difficulties? Or are there new competitors outside?" Luke didn't really know nothing. He also understood Ina's difficulties, but as he said, some things could not be changed once he made up his mind.

"Competitors don't matter. At our stage anyway, no matter which industry we enter, we will have more enemies than friends. The key to the problem is not here, but what exactly do you want to do?" Ina Sandra waved her hand indifferently. Luke would take care of the technical matters, and she would handle the other matters. This was a tacit agreement when they first joined forces, so she didn't care about it. This was a problem that she should face, bear and solve.

What she cared about was that Luke had too many ideas, too many inspirations, and his technology was updated too often and too quickly, to the point where she, who was proud of her abilities, could hardly keep up.

"An experiment. A very important experiment." Luke said seriously.

"This planet can no longer support you. Are you already gazing at the endless starry sky?" Ina Sandra was so angry she almost laughed. "Do you know how much I have to prepare for just one casual word from you? New departments, new staff, new funding, new technology application directions and future plans. I'm already very busy, Luke! I'm so busy lately I wish I could split myself into two or three!"

"I thought the White Queen could help you." Luke shrugged. "I created it just for this moment."

"If it weren't for Queen Bai, you wouldn't have seen me here two years ago! My office wouldn't be here, but in a private hospital! In my own exclusive ward!" Ina scratched her hair a little madly. She always thought she was a very calm person, so calm that she was mean, indifferent and emotionless, but only Luke could easily make her break down.

When Ina thought Luke would play on the ground, he suddenly told her that he wanted to go to heaven!

"Really?" Luke tried to struggle.

Looking at Luke's face, the frantic Ina suddenly calmed down. "You can get the company's data and cash flow from Queen Bai. Do you know how many new projects you've launched in the past two months? Most of them are still in the lab or sealed as Heybolun's technological heritage. They take up a lot of funds. Our research funds for this year have already been overspent..."

"Research funding overspending, isn't this an annual practice?" Luke raised his hand, earning a vicious death glare from Ina.

"It's impossible to open a space department right away. There's no money, no manpower, and no time. You have to at least wait until I finish the current job." Ina Sandra compromised as she had in previous disputes. Of course, as in the past, while compromising, she also put forward her own opinions.

"Okay, okay, but what about what you said, Stark Industries?" Luke stood up with the tablet in his hand.

"I said, I will contact Stark Industries immediately and expedite the delivery of your big toy into the universe." Ina waved her hand, signaling Luke to leave quickly.

At the weapons testing and security training grounds of the Heibollen Industrial Park, Snooker and his twelve-man team were conducting recovery and adaptation training. Seeing Luke approach from afar, Snooker immediately abandoned his team members who were still testing and training and approached him. His life had been like a dream. Although he hadn't been able to return to the battlefield he knew, after two weeks in Heibollen, he was actually finding it quite good.

There are all kinds of unexpected technological products here, as well as all kinds of new equipment and weapons that are not seen in the outside world, and corresponding supporting training methods. He also has a new group of subordinates.

"BOSS." Snooker came to Luke's side, stood up straight and shouted.

"It seems that you have recovered well. How about your new arm?" Luke looked at Snooker, who looked refreshed, and asked after glancing at the silver metal arm that was exposed from the cuff of his right shirt.

"Great." Snooker was as concise as ever, but the glint in his eyes still revealed his inner satisfaction. As if afraid that those two words would displease Luke, after a pause, Snooker added, "I like it very much, and they like their new limbs too."

"If you mind, I can cover it with bionic skin," Luke said, looking at Snoke's mechanical arm. Yes, it was a mechanical arm, not a metal one. It was a custom-made model Luke had specially customized for his security team. The mechanical limb contained a micro-energy core, along with corresponding equipment such as electric shock, signal receivers, jammer chips, specialized magazines, and muzzles. This ensured that even without the suits and other weapons, Snoke and his team could maintain a certain level of combat effectiveness.

"No, we all like it very much." Snooker emphasized again.

Luke shrugged and looked towards the team not far away.

"They were selected based on the shortlist you gave me. Most of them have special skills. With all the necessary equipment, I don't think anyone could break through their blockade and harm those they protect," Snooker said confidently. "Of course, this equipment is fully equipped, preferably with our own Heberon equipment."

"Very good. How long will their training take?" Luke asked with narrowed eyes.

"They are already excellent, so we just need to let them recover, get familiar with their cooperation, and get familiar with their new equipment, and they will soon be able to form combat effectiveness. If you are in a hurry, Boss, I can guarantee that they will form a certain combat effectiveness within three days." Snooker guaranteed.

"Then it'll be three days. Also, what about the other people who have signed contracts?" Luke was asking about those who had signed the standard confidentiality agreements and security agreements.

"After Red Queen confirmed their identities were temporarily credible, some of them were assigned to the Security Department by Miss Ina," Snooker grinned. It was only after joining the department that he learned that Heberon's Security Department had recently undergone a major personnel purge, dismissing a large number of former security personnel. The current wave of veterans who had come to get prosthetic limbs were simply conscripted.

Of course, Snooker didn't think this was a bad thing. At least they could still have a decent job, working for a good company and getting paid well. It was better than being desperate and joining a gang.
