Chapter 24 - Synaesthesia Combination Test

"That's all?" Snooker was a little surprised. He had already prepared for Luke to make some harsh demands, such as selling his body indenture, but the result was just to set up a security team for him? It wasn't that it was too difficult, but it was too simple. So simple that he couldn't believe it.

"Besides your experience and skills, what else do you have that I value? Your military connections? Do you have any?" Luke chuckled. "Your team can serve as a reference template for the military in the future. After I upgrade your equipment, perhaps I can sell your obsolete equipment for a high price."

"After signing the new contract, will I be able to control that big guy?" Snooker pointed to the unfinished mechanical creation that was still undergoing testing.

"That's just a test piece," Luke said, spreading his hands. "It doesn't have much practical use, but it's still impressive." If it weren't such a waste of money that it would squeeze out other research funds at Heberon, Luke would still like to build a truly massive mech. But then again, there were no Kaiju beasts in this world. Building such a large mech, besides showing off his technological prowess, seemed like the only way to recoup losses was to dismantle and sell the supporting technology.

"Test subject?" Snooker was a bit surprised. He looked again at the mechanical creation, full of technological beauty and violent elements, and then looked at Luke, who looked helpless. For a moment, he couldn't tell whether Luke was being sarcastic or really meant it.

"Don't look at it. Those are just a trick to deceive others." Luke shouted and led him into the laboratory.

"I always thought Stark Industries was the best place to look for military technology," Snoke said, his voice growing more talkative, even sighing. As a soldier, if you ask him which military products he's most familiar with and most willing to use, at least eight out of ten will undoubtedly answer Stark Industries. Snoke has personally tested Stark Industries' products; they truly work.

"Tony Stark and his father Howard Stark are indeed extraordinary geniuses. Their products are naturally far superior to others." Luke didn't want to say much about this matter. He took Snooker to the next place.

"This is what I prepared for you. It's a bit hasty. Your equipment still needs to be made." Luke looked at the iron armor in front of him and said with some dissatisfaction.

Snoke, however, no longer cared to heed Luke's words. If the mechanical creation had seemed a work in progress, the bare metal suit he saw now, unpainted, was a perfect work. Even if its creator wasn't satisfied, it didn't affect Snoke's inner vision.

"Does it work?" Snooker couldn't wait to test the device himself. Luke shook his head without hesitation, "This is a prototype built to my size."

"Okay." Snooker was a little disappointed.

"Your body data has just been collected. The new arm is a customized version for you with more functions, so you need to wait a little longer. If you really can't wait, I can arrange for someone to prepare a simple spare for you." Luke said.

Snook touched his broken arm and shook his head: "No need, I can wait."

As he left, he glanced back at the prototype Luke had mentioned. "Does your security require equipment of this level? Equip a squad? If this squad were equipped with this and some weapons, it would be enough to start a small war and conquer a small country."

"Who do you think I will face next?" Luke looked at Snooker strangely.

Hydra, various viruses or mutants created by research, various troublesome underground organizations, and a bunch of bizarre followers of the so-called dimensional demon, plus the Master, and maybe even his own potential teammates in the future. And this is just Earth. This planet is too full of hidden talents, and with Luke's cautious mind, no matter how cautious it is, it is worth it.

Snooker was a little stunned by his look.

Another week passed.

The test site of the Luke Laboratory Base in Haibolun Industrial Park.

Snoke's iron armor opened, revealing his slightly panting face.

"How long?" Snooker asked the researcher who was recording the data.

"Ten minutes." The researcher who was asked answered very quickly.

"Only ten minutes?" Snooker sighed as he felt the soreness in his muscles.

"Being able to maintain the fourth stage of synesthesia for ten minutes is already amazing." The researcher admired Snooker very much. As a core researcher of Heibolun who was entitled to participate in many confidential studies, he was amazed at the synesthesia system that Luke brought out, which he had improved and redesigned after his return, and he also had a deep understanding of it.

The machine is closely integrated through the human body's neurons so that the body can control the machine as easily as controlling its own limbs. This stage is divided into the five stages of the synaesthesia system.

In the first stage, there is a sense of awkwardness, and the control of one's own combat suit requires the assistance of an intelligent system.

In the second stage, one can control his body like a normal person, without any delay.

In the third stage, you can integrate not only the suit itself but also its intelligent subsystems, creating a feeling of ex machina, where you become a machine, your facial features transformed into technological organs like radar. Both data processing and reflexes are significantly improved.

The fourth stage is a more profound integration phase, capable of fully utilizing the suit's full performance and capabilities, even overclocking it. At this stage, a significant amount of physical energy is consumed to withstand the pressure of overclocking the suit's performance, as well as the mental strain of processing massive amounts of data. At this stage, both the user and the suit itself are in a state of overload.

The highest level of testing currently stands at stage four. However, in the minds of many informed researchers, this stage is already considered inhuman. This is because the deeper the level of synaesthesia, the tighter the integration with the suit and its intelligent subsystem. While this increases the suit's performance and combat effectiveness, it also places greater strain on the neurons and body.

So the researcher lamented, "For those who have taken the test so far, the best result is barely reaching the threshold of the third stage of synaesthesia. At the fourth stage, your reflexes and the depth of your integration with the machine are already superhuman. At least you've maximized the performance of your suit! If you go any further, your suit will not be able to keep up unless it is upgraded."
