Chapter 30 - The First Step

All things are difficult at the beginning.

Plans are plans.

Looking at the progress bar in his mind, which hadn't moved at all after draining the energy from Heberon Industries and sealing it up, Luke was now trying to figure out how to accumulate his first pot of gold. According to his inference, even if he drained all the energy and electricity in the world, it would probably be useless.

Only more powerful, vaster and denser energy can push forward the first step of Luke's plan.

So where is this energy?

Luke couldn't help but raise his head while thinking, looking at the ceiling of the laboratory. His eyes were so distracted that they seemed to pass through the ceiling and look directly at the boundless sky.

sun?

This is a vast and available energy source, and the technology Luke possesses can indeed efficiently utilize the sun's energy. However, the time required to manufacture the equipment, as well as the manpower and support required, would be too much of a waste. Furthermore, the closest one in the sky would be difficult to target.

Ancient One?

Luke really wanted to follow the Ancient One and happily fleece the dimensional demons. But for the time being, that was impossible. He didn't have the methods or technology to find the Ancient One.

Then the only one left, the one with the most hope, seems to be that person.

Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Nick Fury!

Luke doesn't care about S.H.I.E.L.D., and neither does Nick Fury, but they manage the preserved Cosmic Cube, and Luke cares about it now.

Compared to the risks of the first two, it seemed that exploiting Nick Fury's S.H.I.E.L.D. was the least costly and most likely to succeed. He wasn't greedy, nor did he want to monopolize the Tesseract or any of the other Infinity Stones. He just wanted to get some, accumulate the initial starting energy, and activate his progress bar. Wasn't that too much?

So, should I reveal more to get Nick Fury to take me seriously and recruit me into that unformed organization? Joining that organization would put me closest to the Tesseract, which would be the best way to tamper with it without provoking Nick Fury, Stark, and the others. After all, once I join you, I'm on the same team. If the Chitauri invade, I can use this opportunity to drain some energy. Who knows, everyone might even thank me.

Of course, there is also an alternative plan B.

[Seed of Black Nightmare].

These so-called "seeds" are a kind of peculiar energy collection device that Luke cannot fully understand for the time being, and the way it collects energy is even more bizarre.

But does Luke dare to use it on the planet he lives on?

Although Luke was eager to try, his rational mind told him not to become a villain just yet. Even if Stark and his team were powerless against him, what if someone like the Ancient One thought he was a tentacle of some evil dimensional demon? Wouldn't he be furious? Even if he hid well and wasn't discovered or exposed, if he was wiped out before he could gather enough energy, the loss would be too great.

However, not using the Black Nightmare Seed on this planet didn't mean it couldn't be used elsewhere. After all, the Black Nightmare Seed possessed some dimensional travel capabilities. Of course, Luke hadn't yet mastered Becky's dimensional positioning technology, so the area it could be deployed in was random.

If it is not a matter of random luck, but the host is selected based on the screening rules of the [Black Nightmare Seed] after being released into a certain dimension or universe area, perhaps the [Black Nightmare Seed] of option 2 would be more suitable as the main energy plan to start the first step of the plan.

As for the release of the [Black Nightmare Seed], if it causes any worse consequences, what does that have to do with Luke?

Even if someone traces back to the source and finds this galaxy, this planet, before they grow up, there will always be taller people to hold up the sky if it collapses. In this world, which genius scientist hasn't accidentally caused a world crisis while conducting an experiment? If you haven't achieved such an achievement that nearly destroyed the world, do you have the nerve to call yourself a genius scientist?

After figuring it out, Luke no longer hesitated and divided the only batch of [Black Nightmare Seeds] he had into two and released them.

One is the starry universe of this world.

The other one was another dimensional world that he could vaguely feel he had visited.

After the release, it was a matter of waiting, depending entirely on the host chosen by the [Black Nightmare Seed] and the environment it was in. As for how long the wait would take, due to the limited number of [Black Nightmare Seeds] Luke couldn't rely on a wide-ranging approach to reduce the time it took to select hosts. The regional distribution and spread of the seeds left everything to fate.

If the area it's deployed in happens to be home to intelligent civilization and life, then everyone will be happy. If the area it's deployed in happens to be a dead zone, then all that can be done is wait and see. So, after releasing Black Nightmare, Luke's main plan still depends on Nick Fury.

As for stealing and robbing?

Luke had no such intentions. He would only make this decision when he had no other options or solutions, when he was at his wit's end. It was a decision only a gambler, desperate to risk everything, would make.

"I'm sorry to tell you a piece of news. A Raptor aircraft crashed yesterday during an exercise. Fortunately, there were no casualties." Air Force Colonel James Rhodes stood on the podium as the speaker. He downplayed the fact that the Air Force had lost a Raptor aircraft, and then moved directly to the next topic without waiting for reporters to ask questions.

"As for the Camille incident, we still don't know who the intervening force is..."

On the virtual projection before Luke, on one side was a public report from James Rhodes, and on the other was a figure in an Iron Man suit nimbly flying through the air. Also on the screen was a flaming, falling Raptor and a parachuting pilot.

"Did Stark buy another batch of metal?"

"TI-2217-FZ. New titanium alloy material. Unit price: US$175 per gram. Purchase quantity: two tons." Queen Bai pulled up the transaction list with Stark.

"Pay attention to Tony Stark, no, pay attention to the movements of Obadiah Staney of Stark Industries. If you find anything unusual, notify me immediately." Luke originally wanted to monitor Tony Stark, but after thinking about Tony's IQ and his intelligent butler Jarvis, in order to avoid any accidents, he turned his attention to Obadiah Staney.

To establish a relationship and get an invitation from Nick Fury, you always need to be in the right place at the right time to achieve twice the result with half the effort.
