[New achievement:Budding religion]
[One of your dungeon mobs have begun to worship you. This could either be the start of a cult or a dominant religion among your dungeon mobs]
[Reward:Dungeon gains access to mana]
The dungeon core at the back of the dungeon immediately took on a healthy crimson glow as it hummed with magical energies.
[1075/1075 mana remaining]
The dungeon felt this new energy inside of itself but didn't know what to do with it yet.It wasn't like being a dungeon core came with a manual. She attempted to force this mana outside of her core to do something but all it did was waste mana points.
The mana points did fill back up again but she didn't know what to do with it.Perhaps when there were intruders she would be able to use it to defend her mobs but she felt as though there would be a punishment for doing so.
...
After Arther was done with his prayer he stood back up.The air suddenly felt more refreshing as if there was more energy in his surroundings. He was about to ask if this was the result of his prayer but he was interrupted before he could even begin to ask.
"Hey Arther do you want to take part in a sparring match?"
The one who asked was none other then Joshua.Joshua had been getting into multiple sparring matches with the other humans and even his elite comrades. He had won them all and even encouraged them to enter sparring matches among themselves.
Joshua was also delighted by the fact that these sparring matches and training in general gave him experience. Not as much experience as actually killing intruders mind you but it was still a decent amount. The only one left to challenge was Arther the first human and progenitor of the race.
"Sure let's do it over there." Arther pointed towards an empty plot of land between all the sparring duels going on.
Arther didn't really mind if he was the strongest or the most skilled but he wanted to prove that his progenitor status meant something and had some merit.
Joshua grinned and the other humans stopped their sparring matches in order to be able to witness this spectacle. It wasn't often you got the two strongest warriors to duel it out with all their strengh.
The two human warriors got ready before the small crowd of spectators. Both of them entered their fighting stances and eyed their opponents.Joshua began the match by attacking Arther with a few rapid fire thrusts.
Arther weaved out of range of each of the thrusts without having to move too much.Arther then swung his metal spear at Joshua who for his part flinched back, surprised by Arthers sheer speed.
Joshua raised his wooden spear to block but the force behind the blow knocked him back a few metres.Joshua was awestruck. If the progenitor was this strong then how did he die? Were the kobolds really that formidable?
The truth was that Arther was the most powerful human and the increased number of humans along with the appearance of the 3 elite humans had only made him stronger.
Joshua might've been awestruck but he remembered that this was still a battle. He charged back in and swung his spear towards the side of Arthers head.Joshua was now using his physicality at its maximum and any regular level 0 human would have trouble keeping up with the speed and force of his movements. The problem was that Arther wasn't a regular human.
Arther ducked down and swung his spear. He knocked Joshua's legs out from underneath him.Joshua opened his eyes to find a spear blade hovering under his neck.He had been defeated with ease.
The humans cheered. They were glad to have a figure like Arther by their side but to have him confirm his strengh was a neat bonus.
Arther reached out a hand to help Joshua up.Joshua happily accepted his help and got up with a smile.
"I guess second strongest is good enough for now." Joshua grinned at his compatriots who were somewhat relieved that he had been taken down a peg and also had a newfound respect for Arther.
"Whether it's good enough is up for debate and only the future will tell if it is actually good enough."
