Chapter 25 - 25. Brothers

Poisonous plants.

Directly pierce the rhizome with bone spurs to absorb the venom.

Afterwards, Alan's palms felt very uncomfortable, showing symptoms of poisoning or allergies.

Thankfully, the symptoms were only temporary.

After overcoming this discomfort, Alan would be able to synthesize the same toxin in his own body and release it through the bone spurs.

As for poisonous animals.

It's a little more complicated.

First, the animal must be killed before the venom can be absorbed with the bone spurs.

Afterwards, the venom can also be synthesized within the body.

After many experiments, Alan summarized two empirical rules.

The amount of toxin that can be synthesized in the body is positively correlated with physical attributes.

The number of toxin units that can be secreted daily is also positively correlated with physical attributes.

Alan shared his research results with his brother without reservation.

He hoped that the brothers would work together and make progress together.

Together, they ushered in an era of poisonous demons.

However, his careless younger brother completely failed to appreciate his brother's good intentions.

He learned a few things from him and flaunted them everywhere.

Now, word of the brothers' poisonous thorns on their palms had spread, causing some controversy within the clan.

The elderly ogre matriarch, worried that these two blue-skinned monsters would eventually become a nuisance, wanted to expel them.

Thanks to their adoptive mother's pleading, the brothers were allowed to stay.

Alan warned his younger brother not to expose his bone spurs to outsiders.

The bastard not only refused to listen, but also tried to stab him with it.

Alan was filled with despair.

You idiot!

If a person is foolish, even God can't help him!

Unbearable, he had no choice but to give him a beating!

Unfortunately, perhaps influenced by his Poison Demon bloodline, this kid was incredibly stubborn.

Alan beat him half to death, but he refused to yield.

The more you discipline, the more rebellious they become!

Some children are destined to fail to be educated solely through corporal punishment.

Alan could only reluctantly accept this fact.

Six months passed in a flash.

Alan's adoptive mother became pregnant again, giving birth to a baby boy.

The adoptive mother doted on her son.

Alan often helped the adoptive mother take care of the young child.

He couldn't figure out what was wrong with his Poison Demon brother.

He actually developed an intense jealousy of his adoptive mother's son!

He didn't know if he had figured it out on his own.

Or if someone was secretly plotting against him, filling him with perverse ideas.

This kid was completely convinced that now that their foster mother had a biological son, she would no longer love the two adopted children and might even kick them out of the family.

Alan patiently advised his brother.

Their foster mother owed them nothing.

Raising them was already a great favor.

The brothers shouldn't ask for more.

Not to mention that their foster mother was kinder and gentler than other ogres, and it was unlikely they would be so cruel as to expel their adopted sons.

Even if their foster mother had done so, the brothers shouldn't harbor resentment.

After all, they were both grown boys.

They had a certain degree of independent survival skills.

Even if they left home to make a living, it wouldn't be a big deal.

What are you so secretly worried about?

A young man who can't even make a living himself, yet he's jealous of a nursing baby, how dare he be so shameless?

Alan's words were harsh.

The younger brother walked away without a word, his face gloomy.

Looking at his brother's back, Alan had a vague feeling that something bad was going to happen.

Honestly,

If this guy didn't have Poison Devil bloodline,

Alan really wanted to kill him himself, just to prevent any trouble!

Not long after, Alan's worst fears came true.

The foster mother's youngest son was also a little mischievous boy.

Before he was weaned, he dared to play with his brothers and sisters.

Alan and his sisters didn't mind playing with the little one.

Alan's Poison Devil brother was becoming increasingly gloomy and irritable.

One evening, when the little one was playing with him... For some unknown reason, this guy suddenly went berserk.

With a sudden slap, he slapped the little creature's chest.

A bone spur protruded from his palm, and with a thud, blood splattered.

The little creature screamed and fell backward.

His chest was immediately stained red with blood.

The foster mother screamed and threw herself forward, hugging her son tightly.

She watched helplessly as the little creature's eyes rolled back and he breathed no more.

Even his tiny corpse softened in his mother's arms.

His muscles and internal organs were dissolving into a pool of thick blood.

Allen, carrying a wild boar, returned from hunting, surrounded by his four sisters.

As soon as he reached the cave entrance, he heard his foster mother's heartbreaking cries.

He quickly rushed inside and understood everything without asking.

The beast who had caused trouble still looked defiant.

"You little bastard messed with me first!"

He pointed at the little ogre's corpse and said to Allen with a righteous voice.

The foster mother was still wailing, in agony.

Perhaps she was regretting her momentary kindness in adopting this evil creature.

Upon learning of their youngest brother's tragic death, the four sisters screamed in rage, ready to pounce on the murderer.

"Stop!"

Alan suddenly shouted.

The four sisters froze in shock.

The foster mother also raised her tearful face and stared blankly at him.

Alan sighed and walked towards his twin brother.

The boy crossed his arms over his chest, stiffening his neck.

He had a carefree attitude, a "whatever-does-you-want" attitude.

Alan walked over to his brother and hugged him.

He patted his shoulder and whispered in his ear.

"My foolish brother..."

"I tried my best, but it's a pity you can't change your ways."

"When you get there, tell Mom I'm sorry."

"You—"

"His brother looked at him in surprise.

Before he could finish his words,

A pair of large hands had already grabbed his neck.

Alan's arms suddenly exerted force!

With a snap, the neck snapped!

Alan took two steps back, watching his brother, whom he had murdered, collapse to the ground.

The corpse's eyes widened, a look of disbelief on his face.

Alan's heart ached.

He regretted not being able to change fate and save his brother, a mother he shared, and losing a precious observational specimen. This was fate; he could only accept it.

He turned and returned to his adoptive mother.

Alan knelt, unable to get up.

The adoptive mother held her young son's body, her eyes red and swollen.

A long silence passed.

A suffocating silence settled in the cave.

The four sisters looked at each other.

After exchanging glances, they walked over to Alan.

They knelt in a row.

The four sisters tried to calm their mother down, begging her not to vent her anger on Alan.

The adoptive mother's expression shifted.

In truth, she had already realized the danger Alan posed.

She worried that Alan might also use that strange bone spur to harm her daughters in the future.

However, after seeing Allen's righteous act, and considering how much his daughters loved him and couldn't leave him, she couldn't bring herself to kick him out.

The mother ogre sighed.

Finally, she relented.

Since this boy was usually so well-behaved, completely unlike his rascally brother,

I'll keep him by my side for now and keep an eye on him.

Ancestors, bless you!

Please don't let anything else happen!

Night fell, and the north wind howled.

Frost frosted the glass windows.

The second-floor bedroom was dark, unlit.

The boy sat on the bed and slowly opened his eyes.

A strange blue light flickered deep within his pupils.

A crescent moon, freed from the clouds, shrouded the boy.

Soft moonlight filtered through the slits in the curtains, enveloping him.

Alan Panthers's originally bronze skin now glowed with a faint blue fluorescence, which was extremely terrifying!
