Chapter 24 - 24. Poison Demon

This bone spur is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, forming a conical shape.

The tip is needle-like and hollow.

It looks like a sharp straw.

The bone spur can expand and contract with muscle peristalsis.

It can extend about an inch from the palm of your hand.

Later, Allen discovered something else.

When he's full of milk and full of energy,

he can control the bone spur in his palm to secrete a transparent mucus.

The liquid has a texture similar to varnish and emits a faint, sour, astringent smell.

Long experience with toxins has taught Allen that a liquid that smells astringent is likely to be poisonous!

However, systematic testing showed that the oily substance secreted from the palm of your hand does not contain any toxins itself, but rather acts more like a digestive fluid.

The liquid is rich in enzymes that can dissolve proteins.

Alan conducted the test himself.

He grabbed a mouse and strangled it.

He stabbed the mouse's carcass with the bone spur in his palm, releasing digestive juices.

He waited for about five minutes.

The mouse's body collapsed.

Only a sliver of fur remained intact.

The muscles, internal organs, and even some of the bones within had all dissolved into a paste!

Alan stabbed the bone spur into the mouse again.

With a thought, the bone spur began to suck the flesh and blood that had dissolved into liquid.

Slurp…

Slurp…

Slurp…

Instantly, the mouse's flesh and blood were drained.

Only a shrunken pelt remained.

Alan withdrew his hand and examined his palm.

The bone spur slowly retracted, and his palm felt faintly hot.

A surge of energy.

It flowed upwards along his palm.

Finally, it reached his stomach.

Alan couldn't help but burp.

It felt like a full meal of milk.

So that's it...

Now he understood.

The bone spur on his left palm was actually more like a spider's mouthpart.

It could be used to hunt living creatures, injecting digestive fluids, breaking down muscle tissue, and then absorbing it and converting it into nutrients.

He wasn't even weaned yet, yet he could obtain energy and nutrients from the outside world in this insect-like way.

Those poisonous creatures were truly bizarre!

At the same time, Alan discovered similar abnormalities in his twin brother.

That little poisonous demon clearly lacked Alan's scientific spirit and cautious attitude.

He couldn't understand why this change had occurred in him, so he developed a habit of picking his hands when he had nothing else to do.

Allen was speechless at his brother's silly behavior.

He hesitated about whether to teach him some advice.

Teach him how to properly use bone spurs and digestive juices.

Before he could make up his mind, his brother got into trouble.

One evening,

The foster mother returned from hunting with her four daughters.

She first feasted on venison.

Then she opened her fur coat, took Allen and his twin brother, and nursed them.

While the foster mother was out hunting with her sisters,

Alan found a small snake in a crevice and killed it with a bone spur, absorbing its nutrients.

So he wasn't hungry at the moment.

He drank a few sips of milk to satisfy his hunger, then broke free from his foster mother's arms.

He ran to a corner of the cave, collecting mosses and fungi with medicinal value.

The four sisters joined in the fun, watching Allen gather herbs.

They quickly lost their patience and ran off, laughing.

At that moment, their foster mother's screams suddenly rang out from behind them.

Alan quickly turned around.

A scratch was visible on her plump chest, oozing blood.

At the same time, Allen noticed...

A bloody bone spur bulged on the palm of his twin brother's right hand.

The foster mother, pierced by the bone spur, instinctively threw the little poison demon in her arms.

Alan quickly stepped forward, caught her brother, and helped him land safely.

This fool still looked bewildered!

The mother ogre clutched her chest wound and glared angrily at Allen's brother, her eyes mingling with disappointment and resentment.

Alan immediately realized something was amiss! Would their foster mother regret adopting them?

A thought flashed through his mind, and Allen ran to the corner.

He grabbed a ball of moss and rubbed it between his hands until it was a pulp.

He turned and ran to his foster mother, rubbing the sticky moss crumbs against the wound on her chest.

A slight cool sensation immediately soothed the pain.

The foster mother's expression brightened considerably.

She glared fiercely at Allen's brother, saying nothing.

She then held Allen in her arms, caressing him tenderly.

In fact, her foster mother had already noticed.

The two posthumous children their mother had left behind.

Her two younger brothers.

Though twins, their minds and personalities were vastly different.

Alan was clever, well-behaved, and sensible, pleasing her even more than her own daughters.

The other little fellow...

To be fair, he was just as dumb as any other ogre cub.

But compared to Alan, he made his adoptive mother even more disappointed.

She even suspected...

Of the twins their mother had given birth to, Alan had the most intelligent elven genes.

As for the other unfortunate one, he had inherited the ogre's crude and stupid genes.

Even a biological mother can be partial sometimes.

Besides, she was only an adoptive mother, so of course she loved Alan more.

If Alan hadn't been so obedient and grabbed a handful of moss, which had healing and hemostatic properties, to help her relieve her pain and anger, her adoptive mother would have considered abandoning Alan's brother.

From that day on, Alan's attitude toward his brother changed.

He took the initiative to tell him the secret of the bone spur.

He repeatedly warned his brother not to harm his adoptive mother and sisters with the bone spur.

The last time he accidentally scratched his adoptive mother, it was already dangerous.

Luckily, his brother didn't know how to secrete digestive juices at the time.

Otherwise, the consequences would be so severe that Alan couldn't even imagine them.

He wanted to be a good brother.

Unfortunately, things didn't go his way.

His venomous brother was truly foolish and stubborn.

He was deeply dissatisfied with Alan's discipline.

We were twins born together. Why do you, as the elder, dictate to me?

Alan could see what his brother was thinking.

He could only sigh helplessly.

In fact, he had a premonition that if this idiot didn't restrain himself, he would sooner or later commit suicide!

Alan didn't care whether the twins lived or died.

The problem was that poison demons were simply too rare.

As the saying goes, "a single piece of evidence is not enough."

For the sake of his own cultivation, Allen hoped that each poison demon could live as long as possible and achieve greater success.

This would give him more reference samples.

By observing his twin brothers' evolution and comparing it to his own, he could better summarize the common characteristics of the poison demon species.

What if his foolish younger brother,

, had died at such a young age?

Alan would not have been able to observe more valuable evolutionary data from him, which would undoubtedly be a huge loss.

A month later.

Alan and his younger brother were weaned.

Next, they would follow their foster mother and sisters and learn to hunt.

In fact, Allen had already sneaked out several times.

Besides, he had no lack of experience in hunting in the wild.

Under the guise of hunting, Allen continued to study his deformed organ. As his body grew, the bone spur on his left hand expanded to three inches in length and developed a new ability.

This bone spur can absorb external toxins!
