Chapter 18 - Different Races

He removed his robe and made it smaller with four openings for her legs.

"Wear this; it will hide your presence as well as the mark on your head," Lucy said while handing his robe to his sister to help her wear it.

They still didn't know her name yet; her parents must have given one to her. Understanding someone's intentions through spiritual speech is easy, but fully understanding what they are saying is tough at their levels.

If someone's spiritual energy is strong enough, they can talk with each other even without understanding the same language.

To talk fully with her without any restrictions, they needed to form a bond with her, but they were not going to bring that topic up to her. She could ask herself if she wanted to.

Once she wore the hood, she looked like some cute ninja fox, and she really looked happy after wearing it. Eve again cuddled her in her arms, and they started their journey toward the city.

When they had traveled for one hour, something clicked in Lucy's mind. Since they had reached level 3, they didn't feel hungry too much and could go without eating for a week, but this new friend of theirs was not even level 1, and he doubted she had eaten anything from those bastards' hands. So, he stopped suddenly.

His sister also stopped. "What happened?"

"Let's eat something, shall we?" Lucy again used spiritual energy to speak.

Eve also came to her senses. "Ahhhh...sorry, little one, we were in a hurry, and it slipped our minds. You must be hungry, right?"

"Kyuuu..." She responded with some reluctance, but it was a yes.

Lucy smiled, and they found a good spot in the nearby area to hold their nice picnic. He brought out a normal beast and roasted it with some spices for her, since they weren't really going to eat; it was just for her.

And yes, she definitely was very hungry. Mythical beasts need more meat to sustain their spiritual energy, after all. She ate the full beast, which was four times her size, and her stomach didn't even have a bulge.

Seeing her devouring the whole meat with her small mouth was a comical sight, and they both were smiling quietly on the sides.

After she was done eating, they started their travels again. "Oh..." Eve exclaimed a little, and when he saw the reason, he also was surprised because their cute buddy had fallen asleep in her hands.

It looked like she really was very much exhausted because falling asleep in her weary situation was very hard, even if she started to trust them a little.

It seemed like she trusted them with her life now. Well, technically, they did save her life, so it wasn't a big deal. And a beast like her could definitely sense that they had no malicious intent toward her, so it was a good thing.

Lucy had no doubt that the situation she had been put in was her own doing, but how the hell she got out of the fox clan's home ground really didn't make any sense right now.

Night was already upon them, and they still had two days' worth of distance left to travel. They both decided to take a break for some time to maintain the peak of their strength, as the area they were going to cross next was a favorite place of bandits.

He brought out a pre-made tent and mattresses for them and their cute little buddy to sleep for a while. Eve placed her on the soft mattress right next to theirs, and after that, they got into theirs.

"To think it was our first day in this world, and we already got an acquaintance as a mythical beast, how lucky," Eve said while hugging him.

"I don't consider it lucky, though...hehehe," Lucy laughed with a little nervousness. "What if the heavenly fox clan came knocking on our tent...huh?"

"Shut up, you mood spoiler...now give me my kiss," and she pressed her juicy lips on his. They entangled their tongues for five minutes and went to sleep without doing anything else.

After three hours of good sleep, which was enough for them, they woke up. They packed their things in their rings, and when Eve went to pick up their new member, she also woke up.

"Wakey~wakey, dear, you can sleep more if you want," Eve said while picking her up in her arms.

"Kyuuu..." She was embarrassed for falling asleep...mythical beasts really have a different kind of pride.

"Don't feel embarrassed for such things; sleeping is still important for us mortals anyway, so sleep more because I can feel you are still tired," Eve berated her a little, acting like a parent to her.

"Ky...kyuuu," and she agreed to sleep more.

"Good girl."

On the fourth day of their travels, they finally saw a city from the mountain they were standing at, and finally, it would be the start of their journey in this world.

They met a group of bandits yesterday who attacked them, thinking they were some kids who got lost in the mountains and could be sold as slaves...and they said some nasty words when they saw the figure of Eve. Although she wore a loose robe, her figure still outlined easily, and this proved how busty she was. As usual, they died before he could do anything...haah.

Although their mom had already told them not to worry too much about their new organization plans and to just enjoy their travels as much as they could, because traveling the world gets you much more experience than training in one environment, and vibrant experience will develop the most balanced battle sense. Yes, developing their battle sense was one of the main reasons they were going to travel this world and challenge various types of people.

Even though they wouldn't be actively participating in the formation of Chaotic Life, they would still look for talented members if they fulfilled all the criteria for joining Chaotic Life.

Their mom had already decided to go for a very strict contract for core members of their organization, and one of the clauses of the contract was that once you joined Chaotic Life, you would never be able to leave it again; only death was the route to freedom.

And no one would want to sign such a contract that binds their freedom, but this was also a necessary condition to stop betrayals from the people who leave Chaotic Life. After leaving, a person has many ways to betray an organization because they are not bound by many clauses of contracts.

That's why their mom and aunt wanted the core members to be trained from the moment they were still very young.

But finding talented young members was a very hard thing; it would take decades to gather the minimum number of members to run an organization.

Other organizations hired young members from academies, which were opened by a group of organizations for this purpose only.

Young talents joined these academies, and once they learned everything from them, they chose the organization they liked the most.

There was one academy that topped all of the academies because it was not opened by organizations of one kingdom but by five different races: yes, the human race, demon race, elven race, dwarfs, and fey race.

There were other races in the world known as dark races, and these races were basically enemies of these five races, like vampires, dark elves, blood demons, devils, succubus, etc.

Although these five races were somehow not on good terms, they still banded together when they fought these dark races, so for this reason, they opened an academy that wouldn't be ruled by any of the kingdoms. It worked like a perfect neutral zone for these five kingdom races.

This academy was made at the joining point of four kingdoms because they touched each other; it was the place where the Khazret mountain range ended.

These four kingdoms were the human, demon, elven, and dwarf kingdoms, as the fey kingdom was below, south of the demon and elven kingdoms.

But the fey race was one of the most neutral races, and they didn't have any disputes with other kingdoms, so they didn't mind this academy not being close to them. That was the reason why the headmasters of this academy were always a fey.

Fey looked similar to elves, but they had shorter ears than elves, though still longer than humans, and they also had wings on their backs, which they could hide inside their bodies.

Fey with one pair of wings were normal talents, with two pairs of wings were heavenly talents, and similarly, with three pairs of wings were supreme talents.

For joining this academy, the criteria were as follows:

1. You must be at level 3, age didn't matters.

2. If you had an affinity with a supreme law, then it didn't matter what talent you were; if you passed the test, you would be allowed in.

3. If you had supreme talent, then no matter what law you possessed, you would be allowed in even without the test, because supreme talent gives you supreme focus, which is the most important element in battles.

4. If you had heavenly law affinity, then your talent must be heavenly or supreme to qualify for the test.

5. If you were a heavenly talent, then even if you possessed an elemental law, you would be qualified for the test.

So, basically, talent was more important in the eyes of every race, as strength in law gaps could be minimized by artifacts anyway. Simply put, normal talents were only allowed if they had supreme law affinity, which was almost an impossible case, as those with supreme law affinity always had better talent than normal.
