Chapter 21 - Credits and Mission

The exchange rates of resources per level with credits were as follows:

Level 1:

Normal resources: 10 for elemental, 30 for heavenly, and 100~1000 for supreme laws.

Heavenly resources: 30 for elemental, 100 for heavenly, and 200 ~1500 for supreme laws.

Supreme resources: 100 for elemental, 200 for heavenly, and 500 ~2500 for supreme laws.

Just multiply by 3 and round out the 9 figures to the nearest 10 for every increase in level of resources for a general overview, so:

Level 2 = lvl 1 x 3:

Level 3 = lvl 1 x 10: (10 instead of 9 for general)

Level 4 = lvl 1 x 30

Level 5 = lvl 1 x 100 (similarly as lvl 3)

Level 6 = lvl 1 x 300

Level 7 = lvl 1 x 1000

Level 8 = lvl 1 x 3000

Level 9 = lvl 1 x 10000

And the credit points earned per level of mission were:

Level 2: 100 credits

Level 3: 300 credits

Level 4: 1000 credits

Level 5: 3000 credits

Level 6: 10000 credits

Level 7: 30000 credits

Level 8: 100000 credits

Level 9: 300000 credits

And since spatial stones were counted as normal level 1 supreme resources, they were priced at 1000 credits.

These prices were not absolute; they could vary according to demand and rarity of resources.

Lucy needed 20000 credits to get 20 spatial stones; that was a lot, but the amount needed to level would increase exponentially later, so he needed to find other resources as well.

Eve didn't need anything, so all their credits were going to be spent on spatial stones.

They decided to exchange some resources first; they couldn't exchange too much to avoid gathering greed and suspicions of others.

They moved to the resource gathering counter, which had three receptionists working there.

"Excuse me, I would like to submit some resources," Lucy asked the male receptionist who was free at the moment.

"Of course, which level of resources would you like to exchange?"

"Mortal level 3, we have some beasts of life laws."

"Oh, life law, so it will be counted as a normal resource of heavenly law, so it will be priced around 300 credits; it will depend on the quality of the beasts."

"Ok."

"How many beasts are you going to submit?"

"100."

"Whaaat..."

"Yes, 100, we were hunting them for a long time."

"Oh...I see, please come with me."

"Ok," they followed him to a storage house, and there was a working butcher there.

"Hey, Matt, mind checking the quality of the beasts they are submitting? There are 100, you know."

"Damn, really... Put them there," the butcher pointed them toward an empty place, and Lucifer brought out all the beasts; they looked like deer.

"Oh, they are in good shape, oly single wound, furs are excellent...perfect, they are still radiating with lots of life force, give them 400 per beast."

'Good, that will be 40000 credits.'

"Ok, Matt."

They came to the counter again.

"Give me your card, please."

Lucy handed him his card, and he placed it on a formation. He activated it and added 40000 credits to his card.

"Here you go."

"Actually, I would like to buy 20 spatial stones."

"Ok, wait for 1 minute, I will bring them," Lucy entered a different storage house and brought the spatial stones with him.

They were pinkish-black in color.

He placed his card on a different formation from before, and 20000 credits were deducted from it.

"Thanks," Lucy thanked him for his services and collected his card and stones and moved toward the mission board. Doing at least one mission in one year of their level was compulsory in the mercenary guild, so they were going to at least complete that mission.

They scanned through all the missions present on the board from level 3 to level 4. Level 3 missions were mainly to protect merchant caravans from bandits or some specific resource hunting.

In fact, even level 4 missions were somewhat similar; they were about some specific beast hunting or finding resources from some more dangerous locations.

To the south of Lonest city were mountains, but the whole city was surrounded by forest from the east, west, and north, and this forest was very large. The only viable option from here to reach the next nearest city was using teleportation, or you had to waste years at the mortal level to cross the forest, which was also very dangerous.

Due to this geographical condition, this city had become popular with mercenaries because the forest was filled with resources and beasts, so lots of hunting missions were generated here.

And since hunting in the forest alone was dangerous, most mercenaries formed teams to hunt, and there was a special counter that displayed various top teams and their achievements in this mercenary guild; it also showed which team was recruiting right now.

They picked two level 4 hunting missions; one was to hunt a level 4 emberhead snake with requirements of not damaging its body too much, and the other was a level 4 horned rabbit. They both were normal beasts, so it was easy to hunt them.

Lucy picked the mission parchment and came to the mission counter and handed their cards and the mission parchment to the handler.

"You have to submit 2000 credits in advance for a penalty to accept these missions."

"Sure."

"Ok," the recipient deducted 2000 points from his card since his sister had still 0 points in hers and registered the missions with their card details.

"You have 3 days to complete these missions; if you don't complete them in 3 days, then it will be considered that you failed."

"Ok," they already knew this from the mission parchment itself.

They collected their cards and were just about to leave when a man with a big stature and bulky arms approached them.

"Hello there, I saw that you guys picked missions regarding an emberhead snake and a horned rabbit, and their territory coincides with ours, so how about you join our team? We will help you, and you guys will help us; that way, it will become quite easier and safe."

The man said that while pointing his fingers toward his team, which consisted of two women and three men. The women were twins; they looked exactly the same; the only difference was that one had green hair and green eyes, while the other had blue hair and blue eyes, probably because of wind law and water law. They were beauties, definitely heavenly beauties.

He couldn't classify which level of heavenly beauty they were because he didn't know what criteria those motherfuckers of Beauty Hunters used, but they were definitely above average in heavenly beauties.

He wasn't seeing them for the first time, though, because when they were registering, they were also doing the same with another receptionist.

Two men, one small with a thin stature and the other large, had ember red hair and eyes, while the last one had blue hair and blue eyes again, and his build was medium.

This guy that had brown colors, so he definitely had earth law.

Although this guy was sincerely asking, his eyes were definitely peeking at his sister, and the same was with all those three men in his party.

'Troubles always make their way to you even if you want to hide from them.'

"No thanks, we can handle our missions easily." Also, Lucy wanted to warn those two women not to join this group out of goodwill, but since he didn't have any proof, he restrained himself because he would be seen as the bad guy instead.

'Well, everyone to their own, I guess...this type of case always happens in this world anyway; after all, weakness is a sin.'

"Don't be like that; I already confirmed that you guys are only level 3 from your cards, and my team has two level 4 law practitioners in it; it will be very helpful for you guys."

"Huh...looks like you are slow on the uptake, mister. What my brother said was that we don't want to join a trash team like yours. I hope you can understand this point now since I have elaborated it so well," Eve spoke with her sweet voice, and that bastard really was mesmerized for a second.

"You really have a beautiful voice, miss, but your words are very harsh and sharp as a knife. You are just level 3, but you act like you are already an immortal. Forget it, I hope I can see you guys tomorrow too."

After saying that, the main left.

Yeah, they were level 3, but because they had affinity with chaos law, they had body strength that was reaching level 5 elemental law users, and their intuition was also very strong, so they were as strong as level 5 normal talent with elemental law users in general, and since their law was chaos, it was stronger than level 5 elemental law in strength.

And they also had other life-protective artifacts that were provided by their mom. The clothes they wore always were artifacts of life laws; they could heal any superficial wounds along with themselves, as they were made of living fibers. These plant fibers were found only in highly concentrated life law areas like their domain.

They were more than enough for teams with level 5 members in them, much less level 4, so Eve wasn't wrong when she called them a trash team.
