Chapter 29 - EPISODE 28

Episode 28 – War on Two Fronts

The night dragged on like a blade pressed against the skin—silent, tense, deadly.

The boss gathered his most trusted men in the study. Maps of the city spread across the desk, red marks where the enemy had been spotted. His injured arm was strapped tightly, but he ignored the pain, his eyes cold and sharp.

"They'll come again," he said, voice like steel. "Not just for me—for her. Which means someone inside fed them the truth."

A heavy silence followed. Every guard lowered his head, but suspicion lingered in the air like smoke.

Meanwhile, the nanny paced in her room, torn between fear and guilt. If only I had told him sooner. If only I had stayed away. But deep down, a part of her didn't regret being here. Not when he looked at her like she wasn't a burden, but worth fighting for.

Her thoughts broke when a guard she didn't recognize appeared at her door.

"Boss sent me," he said flatly. "He wants you in the study."

Something in his eyes made her stomach twist. She hesitated. "What's the password?"

The man froze.

Before he could answer, the little girl stirred awake and murmured, "Daddy never said you'd come…"

The nanny's heart dropped. The traitor was standing right in front of her.

At that same moment downstairs, the boss's phone buzzed. A distorted voice spoke on the other end:

"She belongs to us. Return her now, or tomorrow night, we burn everything you love."

His jaw clenched as fury lit his face. He hung up without replying, his mind already racing—only to hear a gunshot echo from the upper floor.

He bolted upright. Her.

War had just entered his house, and both enemies—the one outside and the one inside—were making their move.
