For a moment, Riley doesn't understand why he's still standing there, staring at the lips he had just claimed only minutes ago... only to watch them get claimed again.
What he understands even less is why Henry is hesitating to pull away. What is he trying to communicate right now? That he still wants Victoria, even though he just told Riley that he wants him? That he isn't pulling back because maybe, after all, what he feels for her outweighs what he feels for him?
Heat burns hot in Riley's chest, crawling upward until it scorches his throat. Without waiting another second, he turns and walks away, Skye clinging to his arms.
He would have gone straight upstairs to his room, locked himself away until the pounding in his chest quieted, but he had already promised himself never to let emotions like this rule him, not when they would affect Skye too.
